We take a trip to Mobile Tool Network and take a tour of the facility and talk to them about how Mobile Tool Network can help tool trucks and their customers. If you are a tool dealer and you are interested in becoming a dealer you can check with them at MTN.tools they only sell to tool dealers, so if you are wanting to be a customer, you will need to get your dealer to become part of the network so you can create an account under your dealer.

This is a great way to keep small businesses connected and working in todays world.
Very informative!
Sounds like a win win for the tool trucks to be connected with this. As the older techs age this is going to become even more important as less sales from younger generations. And we aren't talking 10 years from now we are talking the next year and following as more and more retire. Younger guys like ordering online and having this as a option helps keep the trucks moving along.
all this sounds awsome grate video clay for tool trucks there is no down side you have no tools that sit around that you cannot sell because you can give it back you have a grate protal that will help you sell for free i watched this and cannot see a down side 100% grate
Amazon has always warrantied my tools no questions asked but you can also just go straight to the manufacturer and cut amazon out of the loop.
Tekton warranties tools I bought on Amazon and extremely fast too
Hopefully the trucks in my area are affiliated. They should be it’s in Spokane! Great video!
This has to be one of my favorite videos you have done. I'm forwarding this to a couple of friends who could benefit from this.
Thank you! I always try to bring something new and interesting when I can
Great video very informative. Lots of food for thought. Love the text everyone with one button feature.
Gonna have to tell my Snap On dealer to watch this video, another great video Koon
GREAT EPISODE
It would be nice if there was a feature on the mtn website where individuals could search for mtn tool trucks in their area.
We need to do this.
It sounds like MTN has a solid business model and will be a great asset for the tool truck.
Another great video clay. It is hard for service techs like me who are in other industries. I don't have a shop for them to stop by and I am on the road daily doing service and repairs. I use quality tools because it is also how I earn my living. I am left to ordering from Amazon or other websites. Your videos that show tools and who makes them so I can find them has been the best. Thank you for all that you do for all of us.
Wow wish I was in Spokane Washington still got sick of the bull crap moved to Oregon little over a year ago born in Seattle wa have fun their clay
Great video Clay. Thank you for your love of tools.
Nice bro!
Great video. Lots of good info. for tool truck dealers.. Clay you need to do more videos like this and with other tool dealers. Thanks for videos..
Great video Klay!!
MTN just shipped me my new Bolt Buster inductive heater the other day (purchased through an online tool dealer). Got it in two days!
Is that a online dealer anyone can order from?
CLAY!!!! I tried to contact them this last week as I jumped into the tool business.... Never heard from them... Are they still around? I noticed that thier UA-cam channel is empty. Any info would be awesome
Shoot me an email koontrucking101@gmail.com and I can get you taken care of
Interesting 🤔
I only buy from a tool truck because I can call my dealer at 3 in the morning and he will have the tool in my hand at 6 that morning
Great information! I am going to ask my Matco and Snap On dealer if they are a member or if they are interested in joining. I will send them right to your channel to watch this video which will tell them EVERYTHING they need to know.
It’s a really good program
HELLO!! Oh, and 𝔽𝕀ℝ𝕊𝕋 of course!!!
He looks like the same guy from Tribus tools...
He is now running MTN
When are the major tool trucks going to stop their dealers from dealing with mtn. Is a video about spring tool on the way.
Does MTN work in and also ship to Canada?
I’m not sure you would have to contact them. MTN.tools
Sounds lagit I’ll check it out today or tomorrow I need long metric wrenches all I find is odd sets not good 9 threw 22 no missing sizes would be nice
Do you have a tool truck? They only sell to tool dealers. Customers they can help you find the closest tool truck that is signed up
@@KoonTrucking ahh will dam sounded like he said anyone can buy from them Matco and snap on are all the blows threw Myrtle point Oregon dam
Does anyone know who makes the new snap-on mag flex socket rails? I know they are rebranded
Super super interesting video clay. Not even in this world but love this business model and i can def see younger/more tech savy dealers milking this, hope a lot of other dealers will see this and inquire about it, im sure MTN can really help them.
I like some tekton tools V I M CTA but for a lower price but fair qaulity tool brand I like power torque but certain tools I'm buying snapon that's just my choice
I've recently started buying some Astro pnumatic tools and they seem to be good tools so far and very reasonable price
They are good quality too
There’s just no justification to buying off tool trucks, my box is just as full of truck brands as it is Taiwan brands but I’m not going to sit here and say I needed those trucks lol
There is so many brands, Mountain,
OTC, Lisle, Bahco, EZ Red, SE, Wilde, Walton, Fowler, Mayhew, Imperial, Bondhus, Mathew Pro, Milbar, Nupla, Zephyr, Tight Fit, Lang, CDI, Direct Source, Mueller Kueps, IPA, Percision Instruments, Iroda, Flexzilla, Titan Forge, Genius, and the list goes on and on...
Knocking them down one by one :)
@@jcoryarnold Yah buddy.
I’m willing to bet there are a few tool truck haters on here that are driving a 4wd 3/4 ton truck to drive 30 miles on the highway to get to work each day. When they could have saved $25,000 and bought a Ford Focus.
Why do people get so pissed because I chose to spend $190 for a 3/8 ratchet when I could have bought one for $15 at Harbor Freight.
This is how I look at it: it’s your money do what you wanna do with it. You earned spend it like you please ! Haha
Hells the point. I wanna just buy tools not becom6a distributor
They have agreements in place with manufactures to not sell to the end user and that’s what they have to do.
Hey Clay, I just wanted to let you know, they offer a Matco RevelX with a top chest in a 3bay model now
I wonder if my Indy guy knows about them. He hasn’t used his truck since COVID started because he didn’t think it was a good idea to have that many people on at once, so he’s been driving his Yukon around. Don’t know if he’ll be interested, but I’ll let him know. Maybe he hasn’t heard of it.
One more Question.
How do you find out what tool truck is a Member of Mobile tool network ?
I’m not sure at the moment how that would work to be honest.
Cory looks just like Ed bass master 🇺🇸
Why is the MTN website less than a year old ?
Because it is brand new they just launched it at the Sema show.
@@KoonTrucking Well, I wish you luck. As a 55 year old diesel mechanic, my tool buying days are dwindling. Hopefully you can help the younger peeps in the industry.
I've reached out to there guys twice they haven't gotten back to me. I'm starting a tool truck in March and interested to see what they offer.
They have long lists they have to filter through. If you are a tool truck they have a form online. They only sell to tool trucks
@@KoonTrucking yes just starting a tool truck. Thanks
Are you sure the flagged trucks can do this with MTN would it infringe on franchise agreements?
Is this something I can tell my snap on guy about? Or is it more directed to independent tool dealers?
Any tool dealer can use this platform.
I know Joe is on MTN. I would order some tool from him though MTN. How does one sign up for this? Do these sells count toward the “BOC”?
You would have to get him to sign you up as a customer under his account. Not all dealers utilize this some just order wholesale tools from MTN and that’s totally up to the dealers and how they want to run their business.
Dose snap on let there tool truck franchise owners join the Mobile Tool Network ??
Any tool dealer can join, it’s all up to the tool dealer if he wants too or not
Wouldn’t Snap On want their tool dealers only selling Snap On tools? How would Snap On make their money.
@@vinnieromano1336 the snap on dealer isnt gonna drive around selling the exact same rebranded tools that matco/mac sells. The snap on dealer would still sell 99% snap on tools. Once you start venturing heavily into off brand tools it's a downhill trajectory that gets messy quick for the customer and dealer. I messed with otc alot during the pandemic (not much anymore)...took 5 months to get a puller bar warrantied for a customer. Customer broke it the first time he used it--he wanted that specific puller. I steer guys away from off brand tools because of the supply/warranty issues. To save 25 bucks doesnt equate to waiting 3-4months for it to come in.
I only have a Snap-on franchisee in my area and I think he is nearing retirement and doesn't want to mess with anything "new" other than what he can get from Snap-on. Is there any way I can buy from MTN, or is there a way they can put me in contact with a dealer in my area that I don't know about?
They only sell to dealers
Hello again Clay and Cory
Thank you for another Great Video. If I heard you correctly, the non-truck customer would not be able to order or use MTN? How does one become part of this? This sounds almost too good to be true. How come I have never heard of MTN before? Anyhow Clay, I start a New Job on Monday. I am looking forward to getting back to work. Again thank you
MTN only sells to distributors (that’s put in place by manufacturers not them, it’s their rules) so you can be signed up to use the platform but you have to be signed up under a distributors account.
Nice idea but if I don't have a tool dealer then I can't order from this place so I guess the only option I have is to order from Amazon then
You realize as a WD (warehouse distributor) they can’t sell to end customers. Part of the agreements put in place by the manufacturers
Also i would like to know if joe is using this and if not, can we get him on it and see on a weekly basis how it ups his business?
Yes Joe has it
You can see how it’s helping his business he’s got newer cooler tools and his prices have dropped much more than before he started
@@KoonTrucking Great, seems like a awesome tool for the dealers to be lucky to have. Hopefully he can get his tool truck back and get back to his normal work life.
@@KoonTrucking I agree with that statement. My latest orders I’ve noticed deep deep discounting. He beat everybody on Milwaukee pricing
Glad to see this, great potential. Plus avoiding things like buying a BluePoint ball torx set, for $78 then finding VIM makes it and sells it for 1/3 as much.
That’s only 1 example so it can certainly add up.
Now if my local guy sold it for $33 I’d spend the extra 25% to support them, but at 300%, it would be foolish to keep doing it.
Be nice if some of us who don't have access to a tool truck could buy direct.
Can’t sell direct to customer if you are a warehouse distributor with most tool companies. Just how it works.
@@KoonTrucking Understood. Thanks Clay.
Is that the guy from tribus?
Clay.. for years I've been talking about being a tool truck dealer. I was approved by Matco but I heard bad stories... I've thought about independent truck but was scared of no actual support.... I'm really thinking about it again with MTN. I'm very excited now... Hmmm
Im a franchisee with the big 3..go with a company that has actual support. The jobber trucks cant compete with snapon/mac/matco. You will spin your wheels to make a living. Otc warranty is garbage..takes months to get. Have fun selling otc cta and those brands when it takes months to get a warranty for a guy. Being a successful franchisee/tool truck is all about customer service and being able to warranty things.
Read the contract before you sign. There are little details such as ALL tools sold by the franchisee must be purchased from Matco. All your business 100% is done through MDBS software and they have access and see everything you. It’s all laid out in the contract.
@@Ken-wv2wg not true... All my tool trucks sale other brands such as gear wrench ECT.
@@dodgesportsman772 what I stated is true about contract. Contracts change over the years. Contracts are tightened up. Older distributors might have more flexibility but those contracts are aging out. These big tool companies aren’t stupid. If you fly their colors they want you to sell their tools.
Also Gear wrench use to be a sister company to Matco under Danaher which sold Gear Wrench to Apex tool group years ago. Danaher then spun off Matco to Fortive who then spun Matco off to Vontier. Nothing stays the same in business.
Thought Cory worked at tribus???
He now runs MTN
@@KoonTrucking thats awesome!
