  • Rain, sunshine, and back to rain. I managed to have a great day while the sun was out, and found some really lovely shells! The murky water made it a little harder to see them, but I wasn't going to miss the Magnificent Volute or the bright red Carnelian Cowrie! My surprise favourite... a beautiful Yellow-toothed Cowrie! Thanks for watching!
    Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

    G'day everyone! Wow, you're actually reading the description? Um, thank you! You will be rewarded with extra content... my Facebook page (link above) is loaded with out-takes and deleted scenes that don't make it into the UA-cam videos. Check out the extra funsies over there if you're desperate for more shelling content ;D

    I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can check out his videos here:

    Hey Maddie! 😊 We went from cold and cold and rainy to 90 degrees in a week!! 😳 Now I have our Air Conditioning on 😆 My favorites to day are the Translucent Cowry. The Rock Welk. The Orange 🍊 Drupe. The Yellow Toothed Cowry & the Big Bonnet 😍 You make choosing favorites very difficult, in the best way! 🙃 I have to give a shout out to the chunky Cherry 🍒 Cowry too!! Thanks for a GREAT adventure again, my friend!! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

      G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 Brrr cold to huh huh hot!! That's one hell of a change! It's been all rain here lately; I hope you'll send some of that sunshine my way!! My goodness, for the shell favourites today, number one is the unusual Translucent Cowrie 😲 it's nice to come across a rarer cowrie shell, that's for sure! The Orange Drupe is always a nice find -I've been seeing more of them lately. Ohhhh yes, I'm so glad that someone else liked that Yellow-toothed Cowrie, I though I was maybe the one one who enjoyed it 🤣 and the bonnets and cherry cowrie were lovely as well. Wow, I'm so pleased to have found so many shells that you like!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

    That Carnelian Cowrie is fantastic. Healed breaks just tell a story and adds character. Super cool seeing Orange the Starfish and that super cool Black Sea Cucumber! I hope that on an upcoming shelling adventure you find the biggest intact Baler Shell!

      @SandCoffeeRocks  Місяць тому +2

      G'day Crimson Lizard 👋🏻🦎❤️ I do wonder how the cowries get so many breaks, though 🤔 the shells are very thin, bit what impact them... rocks, crabs, other shells, or do they just tumble around under the waves? Not sure if I'll even know!! Oh wow, a big intact Baler Shell, wouldn't that be something!! I guess it is nearly time for me to go up to Hervey Bay again soon, so I may just find something like that? Fingers crossed!! Thanks for watching 🥰

    Good afternoon Maddie, loving all the shells. Those Donkey cowrie were something gorgeous for sure. I'm choosing the orange drupe 😂 love those shells. The volute was awesome as well. I love the live creatures. Thanks again Maddie. Have an awesome week.

      G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 I'm so glad that you loved the shells today 🤩 I feel like there was a lot of interesting ones, and loads of Donkeys too, of course! The Orange Drupe is really nice, and looking back, I wish I gave it a little more screen time. The waves were washing in with the water having poor visibility, so I ended up wanting to move away from that spot too quickly with the Drupe. Oh wow, I'm also really pleased that you liked seeing the sea creatures! I don't feature too many marine animals into the videos because it's mostly about shells, but I really enjoyed seeing them this time (I always film starfishes when I find them, though). Thank you so much Roberta, I hope you have a wonderful week as well 🥰

    Mr sea cucumber was quite amazing to see! Nice coral.

    Love the orange drupe shell.
    Ha ha, I thought that frisbee was a huge operculum at first, wondering what sort of monster shell that was from!😂

So the Red Wing Oyster was a favourite this time - the inside is lovely, and the red colour is quite eye catching too! Hahaha nooo the Frisbee as an Operculum? Can you imagine the size of the Turban shell that must have come from? I feel like maybe it was possible in prehistoric times, but I'm probably wrong 😂 maybe if this was a Disney villain it would be that big! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the shells and the sea creatures 😍 Thanks for watching 🥰

      G'day Melissa 👋🏻💖 Wow, so the Red Wing Oyster is the favourite this time!! The red colour is stunning on this one, especially when it's wet or oiled (this one had a periostracum that looked yellow-brown when it dried). I bet your Atlantic Pearl Oysters have wonderful patterns and their own arrays of lovely colours too 😉 PS, I have no idea what the difference is between Wing vs Pearl Oysters; I wonder if it's just the shape?? Very good shell hunting, Maddie😊! There are many interesting cypraea, the large Lyncina carneola is a cool find👍 and the rest of the cypraeas are beautiful, Erronea caurica is so brightly colored😊. And especially pleased was this black sea cucumber, scary and funny at the same time😁

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Місяць тому +2

      G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ The large Carneola looks crazy with all of those scars on the shell 😲 I know some collectors dislike shells with breaks, but they're fun to see sometimes! Oh, about the Cauricas from here; I believe they have a darker colour that ones found in warmer waters around the Indo-Pacific region 🤔 the same is true for a few other Cowrie species from here, including the Palmadusta Humphreysi. Hehe, yeah, that sea cucumber is scary/cool...I don't think I have the right word to describe it 😂 As always Mikhail, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🥰💖

      @@SandCoffeeRocks G'day Maddie 😊👋 yes, yes, yes Maddie, many collectors really don’t like cowries with flaws, especially since one of the most famous cowrie specialists, Felix Lorenz, generally believes that the “Gem” 💎category can only be assigned to cowries. But I’ll be honest, even among my variety of cowries, I personally would assign the “Gem” category to only a few specimens)) And I like all cowries, regardless of the degree of condition, and you came across a good, large specimen😊👍 That's it, Maddie, I'm disappearing for now, I'm visiting relatives, today Easter has finally arrived and they decided to fatten me up so that I wouldn't eat for a week after that and, in addition, give me various strong drinks to drink)) some kind of unusual Easter, usually on Easter I I don’t take a drop in my mouth🤭😁 And then in the of the week I’ll calmly watch your new episode, I’m watching this episode from Victoria, it’s interesting, it’s far from you, in general, I’ll see what happens there and how you got there😉😊🤟

      G'day Sleepy Fish 👋🏻🐟 I am intrigued 🤔 I always need more feedback like this to help my channel grow, but the problem is that I honestly can't think of a better thumbnail to use than my shell display photo. Hmm, I feel like it's a choice between an exciting thumbnail that somewhat spoils the video viewing experience, or using a less interesting thumbnail and run the risk of no one wanting to click the video to see it. All I know is that the bigger and more impressive looking the shell display is, the more people seem to want to watch the video, but it's hard to know what really goes through people's minds. I wonder, what would you do for a shelling thumbnail? Maybe I'm stuck in a rut and just falling back on what I know; I could be convinced to shake things up! Thank you so much for watching, and for the insight 🥰
