Punt or No Punt?! Jarretman's INSANE Bluffs Put Me in the BLENDER?! Part 2

  • After a crazy part 1, Jarretman is back to see if he can secure an illustrious victory in Punt or No Punt! With all hands selected being 'unsolvable', it made for a very interesting ride! We have 4 more hands to go through today and they are all absolute bangers as they were in Part 1.
    If you missed Part 1, make sure you check that out below:
    • Punt or No Punt?! Jarr...
    Make sure you stay right through to the end, as hand number 7 absolutely rivals hand 3 from last week in terms of the nuttiest hand I've ever analysed. You can actually see my brain whittle to dust as I try to figure out what's going on, even forgetting some of the most basic poker principles along the way. This is what the series is all about!
    If you haven't heard of Jarretman, or you have but haven't watched his content before, it's without doubt some of the most valuable poker content available on the internet, with play & explains up to 2knl.
    Make sure to check out Jarretman's UA-cam channel here: / seirnflow26
    I want to say another HUGE thanks to Jarretman for coming on the show. I never imagined I could get someone like him and my other guests on the channel, and it's so awesome to get such crazy hands from such sick players!
    I'll also be running a new Community Edition of Punt or No Punt in the near future where members of the Discord can share their hands! This time I'll look to get a guest on with me to go over the hands. I'll also be on the lookout for my next guest, but it seems like I'll be hard pressed to get better than what I've managed to luck myself into recently!
    If you enjoy Punt or No Punt, make sure to subscribe to the channel so you don't miss more in the future.
    Thanks again for all the support!

    That last hand its clear all bluffs must contain a 9 to block the 99. Given that we have 3 combos of 99 and half a combo of 56s and 67s each and 1 combos of A6s for value totaling 5 combos we need 2.5 combos of bluffs to stay in balance. For me, that makes it 80% of A9s as the villain will not have AK here given preflop action but will have a bunch of KQ which our Q kicker is blocking. This skewings Villains range into having more 6x and 99. The same goes for J9s and 9Ts. 89s blocks his straight draws.

    Jarretman has a deep understanding of the theory behind poker and a strong mindset.
    When he says: "If he have it he have it and just pay the man his money" he is saying fuck you because I am so well balanced that youre pretty screwed on the long run.
    I ♥️ this guy.

      I actually like the river bluff too. Opponent's range is very wide, has a lot of 1 pair and 2 pair.
      But the flop x/r with no fold equity against a rec is a punt.

    Pretty weird logic in the 1st hand. Starts by saying you shouldn't cbet a lot on this board, which is true, but then proceeds to checkraise which you should be doing even less.
    Cbet = range advantage, which he still has even though it's close.
    Checkraise = nut advantage, which he definitely does not have.

    • @eastyyy22
      @eastyyy22  2 роки тому

      Fefe comfirmed better than Jarretman.

    • @FefeLeVrai
      @FefeLeVrai 2 роки тому

      @@eastyyy22 Just ran this board in GTO Wizard, it is a range check, and low frequency checkraise.
      But this comes from the solver assuming a big range advantage from the IP player, which is true if your opponent plays GTO but against a rec who calls pre with any 2 cards the opposite is true, PFR has the range advantage in practice. This also comes from the solver assuming that the IP player bets 100% of his range when checked to, which is also definitely not the case in practice, but that would justify checkraises even when you have way fewer good hands if opponent bets everything.
      This is a spot where GTO and exploitative differ massively. Jarret played correct GTO, but GTO calculated for a different range for his opponent than his actual one.

    Huge huge punts, I can't even watch this through to the end hearing so much copium. The first episode was great but the second part is only guesstimates against mega whales. Even the reasoning is completely wrong.
    First hand it should be a small cbet if he thinks he has any 2 because the fish won't tax him enough. With 2 overs the check-call is perfect. The river donk is ridiculous. A lot of villain range on a 4-to-a-straight board after 3 bets in will be at least 2 pairs, if not a straight.
    Second hand, it's at least an ace, but it might aswell be a flush all day long. If he had a spade in hand, I could buy this but what's with this overbluffing against megastations.
    Third and went on like forever when it's the most ridiculous bluff ever, turning a perfectly showdown-able hand into a readless bluff.
    Obviously you cannot dictate what hands they come up with but Jarretman promised to deliver with unsolvable hands. Instead the episode turned into : river scary, fish has any2, im allin.
