one shots were special (damage was way smaller, assassins actually required a couple items to even attempt a ''one shot'') , there was no stupid snowball effect from plates and dragon souls, every champ were unique and could be built somewhat differently each game and actually not be considered trolling (ap yi was beyond broken, but so is ad yi for a decade already lol) skins weren't 500$ and not meant to be fanservice, instead of riot banning players for no reason they let US decide and even reward us with RP, runes were not beginner friendly i have to admit, but grinding aside it was so much better (again, could use ANYTHING on ANYONE and make it work, also changing how the lane plays) this is what came to my mind under 5 minutes, probably missed a bunch of stuff that old league had better obviously

I remember running home from school to play this and read the lore of the champions I was going to save up to buy. Twisted treeline with my best friends at 30 fps cause my pc was shit. Playing hide and seek for hours on the dominion map. Boot enchantments. Feral flare. Old kayle. Old Aatrox. It's kind of wild to think i've been playing this game on and off for a decade now. But I will always remember and cherish those memories of the first few years. Pure enchantment and enjoyment.
@CalaTec essentially, yeah. I was playing on an old hand me down Emachine. This was in middle school and early high school, so upgrades were pretty much nonexistent. ( sometimes it even dropped to the 20 range 😅 )

I can see myself coming home from school and starting to play 1 or 2 normal games. When night came, 9 p.m., start playing some ranked, to go up to gold 3. To play in the position you wanted, you needed to be quick and write in the chat "mid pref, supp pref". I used to play support, I remember using sona, nami, janna. My PC was running at 25 or 30 fps, and I still enjoyed the game, there wasn't much toxicity back then. And on the weekends? It was time to watch the LCS, team curse, tsm, and then continue playing ranked all weekend. More than 10 years have passed since all those moments that will never come back, and the passage of time surprises me a little more every day. We were happy with so little.

Old league had something mysterious about her, the chilling, ancient vibe that new league from 2017-today never have. Nowadays there are tutorials EVERYWHERE, guides EVERYWHERE. Back then people werent actually know how to properly play league, thats why it was so fun. Today people playing league just to prove themselves, to have solokills, to play braindead champs,... just to win. League was so much fun back in 2013-2017 anyway.
i played league 10 years ago, 2014-present. Seeing how the game drastically be worse and worse (although there are some good things, i admit). The gameplay couldnt be amusing like this anymore, everything is about waves, gold, kills, item, braindead playstyles and champions,...Back then people dont actually understand how to control the waves and many other things.

Bro jungling back then took a phd. I started the game in open beta in 2009 and other than ww you basically had 4 champs could jungle without dying to the jungle creeps. Half the time when you went to gank you were at 1/2 hp lol. Health pots were literally essential. The jungle role was so frustrating back then

Even relatively new times of league (well fuck, it's s7-s9 to me) were something different, not soulless yet, but for sure different. It truly is soulless today, league is not heading towards anything, over the years summoners rift lost its sense, there's not a mysterious forest with aura of uncertainty and danger. It's sterile, money driven soulless arena. League is of course the best game it have ever been, there's no denying that, but riot's direction to make everything clear, competetive and minimalistic (idk if i mean it, but i think its something like that) makes it all just so bland and uninteresting. Almost every day I think about how amazing it would be to play the game we all used to love. Riot is an evil company for holding this from us. They would never release classic servers cause nobody would play the modern version anymore.

I dont know, i played league and didnt liked it back then cuz how far was it from dota 2 in quality terms. League is more anime now but atleast it have its own style. It was just wc3 rip off with mix of everything back then. Cant say it was unfun or not cozy, but it went from underground to super popular game for a reason. LOL nessa época tinha uma pegada Warcraft, era lindo mesmo.
The game was darker, more serious and made you want to play. It's no longer this big shit that it is here in the Brazilian community, a bunch of sensitive people who made the ban a reason for absolutely anything written in the chat. I stopped playing for these reasons.
How nostalgic, back then the jungle was just as simple or even simpler than Toplane, Midlane and Botlane, and while in the early game it was a horror to clear camps, you really didn't have to think much between ganking or going dragon, nowadays with the implementation of voidgrubbs and herald and scuttle crab it makes the jungle more difficult because there is too much decision making, next year (2025) they are going to introduce another new neutral monster Atakthan that makes the jungle lane more complex.
remember when the game didn't tell you what to build? i miss starting boots 3 pots and a ward on most every champ every position lol. guess it's more convenient now but builds were wild back when nobody knew what was actually optimal to build

Total, fico aqui passando meus tempos vendo esses vídeos antigos, mas oque já foi já foi, infelizmente.. Comecei a jogar de vdd na s3 depois do rework do Master YI, eu amava esse jogo, hoje em dia parece que eu jogo só por jogar mesmo, passar o tempo, não tenho mais aquela paixão que eu tinha antes, jogo parece meio sem alma, te obrigam a fazer build padrão, se teu personagem off meta tá no meta eles nerfam pra jogar na lane que eles querem, era super divertido fazer antes sla um Ezreal Ap ou até um Shen AP mid, coisa que nunca funcionaria hoje em dia, tomaria nerf em aspectos específicos pra não funcionar de jeito nenhum nem pra se divertir, as skins parecem tudo a mesma coisa, hoje em dia é muito fácil confundir os personagens pq as skins são cheias de brilho e particulas que atrapalham a gameplay, antes o maximo que a gente tinha disso era o EZ Pulsefire, Lol tentou se separar demais da sua origem que era no DOTA original e acabou se perdendo no caminho, oque resta para nós é só a saudades dos dias divertidos jogando esse jogo.

I never played league because I'm a dota player, but this old version brings back memories, I used to see it alot in internet cafes back in the day.

I have no nostalgia for it and i think its better too. Didnt play until recently watched a few friends play it back in the day though.
I always loved the difficulty of jungling with non junglers such as Mundo. His clear was fast if you played him well.
I have nostalgia and I don't think so. The Jungle camps like Red & Blue now look a lot better and their designs fits the Red & Blue way more.

Almost every day I think about how amazing it would be to play the game we all used to love. Riot is an evil company for holding this from us. They would never release classic servers cause nobody would play the modern version anymore.
There is a good chanse i would still be playing if the games was more like this

2013 LoL seems more like a moba game while today it seems like an anime fighting game. No wonder why old league has so much respect (and this was only ONE reason i mentioned)
how is it more moba? It looks so casual and senseless, nobody is even trying to play it was just a game to chill like stardew walley online. I cant say its bad but league became truly good sport nowadays

I dont know, i played league and didnt liked it back then cuz how far was it from dota 2 in quality terms. League is more anime now but atleast it have its own style. It was just wc3 rip off with mix of everything back then. Cant say it was unfun or not cozy, but it went from underground to super popular game for a reason. And yes it became less fun cuz its more serious and this game is for tryhard@@ChrisTrikollos

The game was darker, more serious and made you want to play. It's no longer this big shit that it is here in the Brazilian community, a bunch of sensitive people who made the ban a reason for absolutely anything written in the chat. I stopped playing for these reasons.

How nostalgic, back then the jungle was just as simple or even simpler than Toplane, Midlane and Botlane, and while in the early game it was a horror to clear camps, you really didn't have to think much between ganking or going dragon, nowadays with the implementation of voidgrubbs and herald and scuttle crab it makes the jungle more difficult because there is too much decision making, next year (2025) they are going to introduce another new neutral monster Atakthan that makes the jungle lane more complex.
This game had an atmosphere similar to the original Dota. Now it's but a memory.

i used to think Heimerdinger was a mutant slug before i read his lore. Now i miss the way he hovered.
remember when the game didn't tell you what to build? i miss starting boots 3 pots and a ward on most every champ every position lol. guess it's more convenient now but builds were wild back when nobody knew what was actually optimal to build

Total, fico aqui passando meus tempos vendo esses vídeos antigos, mas oque já foi já foi, infelizmente.. Comecei a jogar de vdd na s3 depois do rework do Master YI, eu amava esse jogo, hoje em dia parece que eu jogo só por jogar mesmo, passar o tempo, não tenho mais aquela paixão que eu tinha antes, jogo parece meio sem alma, te obrigam a fazer build padrão, se teu personagem off meta tá no meta eles nerfam pra jogar na lane que eles querem, era super divertido fazer antes sla um Ezreal Ap ou até um Shen AP mid, coisa que nunca funcionaria hoje em dia, tomaria nerf em aspectos específicos pra não funcionar de jeito nenhum nem pra se divertir, as skins parecem tudo a mesma coisa, hoje em dia é muito fácil confundir os personagens pq as skins são cheias de brilho e particulas que atrapalham a gameplay, antes o maximo que a gente tinha disso era o EZ Pulsefire, Lol tentou se separar demais da sua origem que era no DOTA original e acabou se perdendo no caminho, oque resta para nós é só a saudades dos dias divertidos jogando esse jogo.
