Just a small point of correction - the buff duration of songs mentioned around 6:30 is indeed affected by resourcefulness (aka persuasiveness,) but you said it doesn't affect teammates, which is incorrect. The outgoing song duration is determined by the bard's persuasiveness stat, which is then further multiplied by the buff/debuff duration of the person receiving the effect of the song. As an example, Rousing Rhythms last 90 seconds by default, which at base is 15 Resourcefulness. If the bard playing the song increased their resourcefulness stat to 30, the song duration would double in length to 180 seconds, which would make the buff last 180 seconds for both himself and his teammates. That 180 second duration is then modified further by any percentage increases or decreases to each player's individual buff duration stat.
I had no idea! Thank you for correcting me on that. I pinned your comment so hopefully people will read this so they aren’t misled. I appreciate you Mr Spoon 😁
great video, all id add as a bard main is; falchion can be great if you run jolly time and do an ale focused build instead of using rapier mastery (also stack phys heal) +3 will and knowledge aura is pretty good for low gear teams if your team needs those stats buffed and crossbow is strong in duos and trios but surv bow is required for solos
yea thats an easy sub, recently became a bard main. for those curious about the class, its is 100% one of the best support classes if not the best, it has viability for solo as well. Shriek of weakness makes is probably the best class for ALL pve scenarios, and for PVP it is dependent on your game knowledge and skill level. The Music seems really complicated, for music layout I highly Recommend looking up Vinidiction's guide on YT. Music seems like a hassle opposed to just charging with W key or left click, but keep practicing, you will build the muscle memory and coordination to play a mini game midst battle.
@@Luke-mu5mq thanks man! it is super high, but worth because bard is so versatile. Once you get muscle memory down though it becomes second nature. I would literally walk around and just play music back to back till I got comfortable. Thanks for watching my stuff 🙏🏻
I’ve just picked up bard, I love playing it but I find myself getting a tad frustrated with my friends. We go into a battle with a monster and they get a bit mad with me for playing the music to buff them/de-buff enemies. They want me to fight with them to finish off the enemies. But I find myself stuck with so much damaged stacked on me and my team then we are all low on hp. So I don’t know if I should be up right there in the fights or if I should be buffing and de-buffing people/enemies. I have to juggle so much as a bard, all my Instruments, the buffs/de-buffs, then fighting PVP or PvM, while also trying to loot and keep my team alive. I’m not sure if I’m going about this the wrong way so any advice would be good. I also don’t know what to run on bard. I got some stuff saved but my team and I always go in with gear score 6 or 20 so the mobs arnt too hard but then we run into people.
@@LittleGameDev yo man, thanks for the comment I appreciate you 🙌 Bard is super op because of buffs and debuffs, but it can be challenging having to micro manage all that. If you know you’re about to fight and you can get buffs off effectively, I definitely would, then try and get some debuffs off when you push or vice versa. Bard is also great because you can play offensive just as well as defensive. Like you can get in the mix and fight with your boys or just play support and get buffs / debuffs off and use the surv bow to take pot shots. I would say bard also generally works super well with any type of team comp. You’re playing it right sounds like, just takes a ton of practice to get used to juggling all that. Make sure you have the perk that lets you switch between instruments and your weapons really fast so you can get buffs / debuffs off fast in mid combat. I personally like stacking dex on a bard because you play songs so fast, and swing your weapon super quick too, which means you get more damage off. High PDR bard with rondel and buckler or lantern shield is also very viable. High pdr and a successful shriek will pretty much guarantee you’re winning a damage check. Hope this helps man 🙏🏻
Let me tell you why, bard can be good but ppl do not like how this video has it set up. As a bard main since the play tests I wanna say without a doubt it you are slowing move speed with lament, and using banshee, your teammates will be fighting a 2v3 in most cases so don't even bring em. Use war song and not fermata, use less minor buffs and debuffs as I've mentioned. This guy is someone who wants to do less music playing but more at the same time. Full support and teammate shining type kit in this vid and tbh your teammates will hate you for it.
@@Neverendingzen lament is great for solo tho, and free on a base kit if you have your mem set up properly. I hardly use banshee, just noting how busted it is if you can successfully get it off why not. If not, obv just shriek and go ham. Team play you can still be a good support bard and go in for big damage. You can turn the tide with buffs on ur team, especially with shriek, just don’t make it your sole objective to only buff and debuff the entire time. Obv get in the mix once you’ve properly buffed and debuffed, IF you have good spacing for it. Although I can appreciate your play style, and thank u for the comments / advice 👍🏻
Gotta try rondel bard with 45%+ PDR. It’s insane. Get a buckler with armor rating and you can get close to 60. Nearly unkillable in melee especially if you get shriek off.
@@Greatest_Lump war song is awesome. If you don’t mind playing songs more frequently you could drop fermata and run both rapier mastery AND war song which is sick. or if you like fermata you could drop rapier mastery. High end gear is diff of course, I would drop fermata at that point
Take my advice as someone who disarms all the bard haters and refuses to main anything else personally....don't be the buffball bard, keep yourself with a mind that you will fight as you play and not play more to fight less. Lament, and Banshee are not recommended....you'll be in there playing music in a fight constantly anyway. Bring war song and NOT fermata. Rip them songs king, if you're playing bard you're nerfing him by making yourself do the class job less js.... Get use to ripping those things FLAWLESSLY and avoid being the "I'll help my teammates with songs more than fighting" guy. No lament, no banshee. Bring war song instead of fermata. The passive and soft approach to bard is why ppl joke on my fav class. It can be nasty and aggressive as equally and a menace to deal with in turn.
