- Опубліковано 21 тра 2024
- Prime Minister Modi and President Xi came face to face at the BRICS summit at Johannesburg last week, but there was no bilateral meeting scheduled. The freeze remains. Pakistan could not get into the grouping though it had China’s backing. Battling economic crisis and political instability Pakistan has been offered respite from UAE which has decided to invest in assets of Pakistan. But there are going to be strings attached this time. Former Indian Ambassador to China who has also served as Indian high commissioner to Pakistan Gautam Bambawale and C. Raja Mohan, senior fellow at Asia Society Policy Institute explain China and UAE’s relationship with Pakistan and where the US fits into this new jigsaw puzzle. Watch or listen in to this edition of ANI podcast with Smita Prakash, to understand how these new developments will affect geopolitics in the Indo-pacific region. During the conversation the experts analyse different aspects of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the violent attacks in Balochistan. The panel also discusses "Gulf Route to Pakistan” a paper authored by Raja Mohan which provides deep insights on the economic affairs of Pakistan and how Pak Army has now decided to get UAE to bail them out. The panel also talks about Imran Khan’s arrest, protest against Pak Army, U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and India’s growing stature in the world stages with Pakistan losing its importance in West as well as China.

This year when PM ModiJi visited Whitehouse, we as common citizens were permitted to enter the Whitehouse ground. We were provided Indian and US flags and plastic rain pancho and water was provided on the ground. While when Manmohan Sing visited ven reporters were not provided water.
Just shows the US prefers murdering thugs .
I'm from Pakistan,
Hope everyone doing well,
The people in this podcast are very good and sensible they didn't show one side view and tell us Truly what is happening now in Pakistan and what's happened .
And the people of Pakistan now know our army role,
You ppls are genius and better know above two lines means 😉

The quality of the discussion is very sober, intellectual on part of the participants & the anchor. This is what India represents. Indians have become more articulate, know what they want, more aspirational, with zeal to take the Country forward on path to Economic prosperity. Jai Bharat !
Why our aim is not uplifting lives and standards of living? Percapita and gdp improves as a result. Still millions of poor children are out of schools. We must screen programmes for them. In huge halls..so they know facts.Geopolitics. science basics. They are aware of the world. After letters and counting, this geopolitical education is important
@@induchopra3014Educating millions is easier said than done.
First the govt should get the education policy right, the new education policy is a shit show. New methods of teaching and a whole new brass of teachers and create a more comprehensive practical oriented education plan.
Ideally, a highschool graduate should be able to work in any field or run a small scale business but that’s not happening now. Focus more on skill development. Right now even some of the engineering graduates don’t know the basics of this.
My synopsis is without the right education, education people is a waste of time. Without jobs in place, educating people and keeping them jobless results in riots.
Once India moves to manufacturing we need a very high population of medium skilled tech workers who can solder, repair and put devices together.
Good discussion. Pity mainstream tv media’s discussions and debates are just a slanging match and talking and shouting over each other. And on top of that ticker tape going around the screen. Absolute hash
If views were any metric, you could just guess how popular this format is
In this age of concentrated content for puppy attention spans, this 1 and half hour unbiased video is thriving
This just signifies the maturity of our society
This is such a rich conversation! Light years ahead of other journalists!
Most Indians and Indian commentators forget wherever Americans go there is confrontation with neighbors and decrease economic activity in that area in long term,so Indians be careful not to fall into complacency
Wrong. Look at China and Korea. India is like China. Scale in Somalia is nt like Pakistan. Pakistan survived bcz of US. Gulf countries were developed by West. It is wrong

The 'first BJP PM' of India brought India back from the morass we were in. Otherwise, we could have been in a worse position than what Pakistan is in right now.
Who tells you all this bullshit, your 9 year growth trajectory tells us what you have done, average GDP increase has been 6.1% while it was 7.7% during UPA.
And there's a joker who doesn't know or mention any facts and makes a claim.
@@yuvrajshikhar3327 What do you mean, sir?
@@user-rg7jt4xp9y what you commented is without any facts. No one in Indian history can get more credit as a PMfor economic reforms than PV narsimha rao. There have been good roles of Indira gandhi, Atal Ji, nehru and others as well.
@@yuvrajshikhar3327 When I said "India's first BJP PM", I meant PV Narasimha Rao only. That is how the veteran Congress leader, Mani Shankar Iyer describes PV Narasimha Rao in his book just out, titled "Memoirs of A Maverick".
I am not a joker who doesn't know any facts, sir. Please take back what you said.
I am not clear why Mr Raja Mohan feels india pak connectivity is an eventuality. I am not convinced that it's in india best interests in next 15 years. If it 's just the scare of migration, we should have hard border measures. After all, can we not block entry of migrants with guns thanks to pakistans gun culture?
I agree with you ... Bharat has to learn from past mistake and from our ancestor history !!!

A superb analysis by two of the best and most experienced geopolitical commentators of India, and equally well moderated by Smita Prakash. The whole podcast was really enlightening!

C Raja Mohan sir❤❤❤❤
One of the best programs on the assessment of situation in & around Pakistan. The participants' views & analysis are scintillating & spot on. Very well moderated by Samita Prakash.
An excellent discussion! Raja Mohan Gandhi is just amazing! The Pakistanis were told that India was abysmally poor and weak while Pakistan was shining like a star high in the sky. It is dawning on these Pakistanis that India has gone so far ahead that Pakistan can never catch up. Who is to blame? Obviously, the Army, as they were the ones who claimed credit for every thing happening in that Country.
He is C Raja Mohan not Rajamohan Gandhi
Rajmohan Gandhi is an anti Hindu scoundrel just like Mohandas Gandhi
@@An11Ran okay
It's amazing the infatuation of this nation with Gandhi who was just a politician marketed by the British & it's Congress party as "Mahatma"!!
With much gratitude to Smitha Prakash for getting these two immensely informed and experienced gentlemen to talk about what they know like the back of their hands.
Many opinions, that have been based on incomplete information, misinformation have been dissipated by these soft spoken gentlemen.

I am shaking my head in disbelief listening to Sri Bambawale's comments regarding the possibility of trading with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; expected something way better from a person who has served as Indian High Commisioner in IRP. Even when IRP was weak, it has never failed to cause harm to India. Only when it is really down on the mat, as it is now, will it reduce (on a relative scale) its interferene. If we make the mistake of resuming trade, which in turn will help IRP towards getting back on its feet, it will ratchet up sharply its attacks on India. Hence, if we care about our safety and security, we should not do even the littlest of things that is likely to help it. If we haven't learnt this lesson even after decades, centruries, and millennia of dealing with "the religion of peace(!)", then we'll have only ourselves to blame. Sushant Sareen is one of the few people who really understands IRP. Just blindly follow Sushant's advice to the letter as far as IRP is concerned. Never ever ever ever help IRP, unless you want the kiss of death.
Totally agree
Great conversation. Thank you Smita for organising!
It's excellent for Smitha to bring such professional guests and also knowledgable politicians we get a good information which normally we can't get through the debates which are really not palatable for our years by way of shouting from the debaters, buased politicians and analysts
Simta madam, thank you for bringing the hidden gems of India to your podcast. Without your podcast, we would never know that such responsible people are also serving the country tirelessly.
India has got a lot of talent , but they don't come forward and share their knowledge and wisdom.
Ambassador Gautam impressed 🙏
Talking about china and pak together interlinking both (which should happen more often) by experts who have observed and worked closely with, both these countries is great idea
Great podcast (one of the best) by ani and smita ji.
Sensible guys .. crispy, clear intelligent voices .. loved the conversation..
Excellent Smitha, one suggestion u could have dig deep with Gowtham on any first hand crisis, how it works from high commissioner's ofc, with Raja more on central Asia crisis...geo politics like Pak with turkey etc...
Very informative! Historic context and facts much needed to be known to our current generation to make better choices for the future!
Wat a pleasant experience to hear both this gem💎
It’s good to understand that we never forget our past.
One thing I like about this show is the kind of guests who participate. For example in this episode, both gentlemen have known credibility and present their thoughts based on true experience rather than just trying to make explosive statements to sensitise people's emotions.
Podcast is awesome
Absolutely 💯 point out the things which we as a Pakistani seeing here
But can't put the words like U 😅😅😂
Bcoz you are rootless people. Come back to your ancestors religion. At least common sense will be there.

I have made over $1.2m using the trending copy paste trading. The economy is bad yea but you can still remain very clear afloat if you know where to look
wow. you are making a killing. how does that work?
It’s a method where your account is linked to another person’s and whatever happens in theirs reflects in yours without doing it manually. It’s very transparent
who does that for you. I am interested in this
Mary Elizabeth Huxley. She's easily one of the best managers in the US right now and it's quite awesome that she decided to offer this platform where anyone can benefit from her trades right in their account. Her fees are fair so you have it. you can look her up yourself
Impressive. I am checking this out right away. I have a savings act doing next to nothing in terms of growth. This is exactly what I need for it
Well done Smitha. Tough and concurrent issues with lonks to 75 year past.
Most importantly you ask right question and wait patiently for the answer from experts. Honesty, humility is evident.
You dont do agressive, assertive interruptions ( which is India media style ) and you use subtle humour too.
Fresh air indeed. Keep it going
Is shandar conversation ke liye Smitha ji aapka bahut bahut shukriya ambassador Bamwawale bilkul sahi point out Kiya"kisi nation ke liye economic common sense uske nationalisn ke integral part ki tarah hai. Sathi China ki economy jis crisis mein hai use suggestion dene ki jarurat nahin Hai.

Thank you very much and hope you are able to get very good people like this all along.
Fan of Raja Mohan Sir 👍🏻
A national treasure that not enough people appreciate 😊
Bureaucrats and industry leaders make for best podcast guests. People who are actually in the thick of things. It gives us a peek into how things really happen.
I think professionals like Surgeons, Engineer working on cutting edge tech like Deep learning and AI, Scientist from different domains like theoretical physics, space, biomechanics etc could be great guests as well.
I personally like Indian podcasts more compared to western ones.
One concern that I have is usually we do not know the background of guests in enough detail to know about their biases.
Smitha Avare - your composure and selection of words (during questioning ) is really good 🙏🙏🙏
Brilliant discussion! Thank you ANI
I think it’s important for the current generation to know what road we have traveled. As a country we have come a long way !
It would be interesting to record the aspirations of current generation & check back when India turns 100. 😍
Aspirations of indian youth are lambourgani, designer clothes, good urban houses with club facilities, monikes, travel, they want to explore their own abilities, and the world space. Just having a profession is lower middle class aspiration now. Indians are ready to have higher income. They dream of western standards. Want latest in home decor. This creates huge potential for everyone. Archetects, designers, decorators, auto, businesses. Just being 4rth or 3rd largest economy is meaningless if our life style doesnot improve

From Pakistan great analysis. Everything truth and right. We people want relationship with India and no more kashmir rhetoric. It's not the people's narrative but our democracy is weak and we are helpless
What you, the people of Pakistan want doesn't matter; people's opinions are completely irrelevant in a dictatorship. And please be clear: Pakistan is NOT a democracy, never was. It is a military dictatorship, overtly or covertly such as now.
Fix your country, make it a real democracy where the military is under civilian control. Only then aspire to things that ordinary citizens of normal countries aspire to.
From India
Your ancestors broke this country and went out , your country was born out of jealousy and hatred towards our country, your country tried every trick in the book to harm my country.
When you were blinded by Indian hate, Indians worked hard and marched ahead this is the beginning wait for next 10 years.
Now you have turned beggars because of your incapabalities and hate and we don't want any relationship with you I don't why these guest were even thinking we should have trade or dialogue with you.
Today you are not capable of inflicting any new damage because you have lost the capability to do so but tomorrow when you have some strength you l do the same again
Thank you

I feel Gen Bajwa played the same game in 2021 which Bhutto played in !972. Pakistan was able to get a cease fire when they were really hard pressed to find means to sustain the cross border firing. We have provided them breathing space to recover. Whereas we should put pressure on them and make them totally bankrupt.

36:22 This is like giving breathing space to pakistan , shouldn't we use the vulnerability of our enemy and exploit it more rather then giving them chance .. Just a hypothetical situation if things were vice a versa what would have pakistan done ?? so i guess we should also do exactly the same , Hoping that one day pakistani will have some common sense is nothing more then chasing a mirage.
