Why our aim is not uplifting lives and standards of living? Percapita and gdp improves as a result. Still millions of poor children are out of schools. We must screen programmes for them. In huge halls..so they know facts.Geopolitics. science basics. They are aware of the world. After letters and counting, this geopolitical education is important

@@induchopra3014Educating millions is easier said than done.
First the govt should get the education policy right, the new education policy is a shit show. New methods of teaching and a whole new brass of teachers and create a more comprehensive practical oriented education plan.
Ideally, a highschool graduate should be able to work in any field or run a small scale business but that’s not happening now. Focus more on skill development. Right now even some of the engineering graduates don’t know the basics of this.
My synopsis is without the right education, education people is a waste of time. Without jobs in place, educating people and keeping them jobless results in riots.
Once India moves to manufacturing we need a very high population of medium skilled tech workers who can solder, repair and put devices together.

I am shaking my head in disbelief listening to Sri Bambawale's comments regarding the possibility of trading with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; expected something way better from a person who has served as Indian High Commisioner in IRP. Even when IRP was weak, it has never failed to cause harm to India. Only when it is really down on the mat, as it is now, will it reduce (on a relative scale) its interferene. If we make the mistake of resuming trade, which in turn will help IRP towards getting back on its feet, it will ratchet up sharply its attacks on India. Hence, if we care about our safety and security, we should not do even the littlest of things that is likely to help it. If we haven't learnt this lesson even after decades, centruries, and millennia of dealing with "the religion of peace(!)", then we'll have only ourselves to blame. Sushant Sareen is one of the few people who really understands IRP. Just blindly follow Sushant's advice to the letter as far as IRP is concerned. Never ever ever ever help IRP, unless you want the kiss of death.

Just having a profession is lower middle class aspiration now. Indians are ready to have higher income. They dream of western standards. Want latest in home decor. This creates huge potential for everyone. Archetects, designers, decorators, auto, businesses. Just being 4rth or 3rd largest economy is meaningless if our life style doesnot improve

Imran Khan as PM in his initial popular speech had offered to go two steps for one step from India like building Kartaarpoor for our Sikh brothers but his sincere, upfront stance was not reciprocated by the Indian govt to start the long awaited dialogue. Still it,s always a right thing to stop hating each other and think of solving the socio-economic issues of our marginilised people on both sides. Its a huge discussion which must continue with open minds..... Let,s hope for mutual respect & better things to lead our relations after 2024 elections in both countries.

Emotional in the sense over enthusiastic ,for eg: while you discussed about China border issue with Dr Jai shankar foreign minister (china had attacked us why India can't, then Jaishankar sir then said calm down Smita there were bilateral agreements between us like that stuff) .This podcast is very knowledgeable to the students who are in political studies and upsc aspirants..

Very disappointed with the thoughts of both the former diplomats. They are talking the language of Farooq Abdullah in diplomatic parlance. Non of them talked about terrorism as an instrument of Pakistan state policy. Being closely associated with Pakistan they have not understood the psyche of the Pakistani elite including the Army (with dual citizenship) vis-a-vis their commitment to the welfare of Pakistan as well as Mullah Nexus in radicalising the entire population. Both these gentlemen are cut off from the ground realities. It seems that they don't have any value for the lives lost because of the Pakistani terrorism. Finally no one said that complete disintegration of Pakistan is the only way to the peace in SE Asia. These two are liberals harking for Aman ki Asha nonsense in the garb of so called intellectual discussions.

Fact is that Pakistan was indeed doing better than India in almost every parameter till end of 1990s:
    PKR was better than INR.
Pak was world champion of hockey, cricket and squash simultaneously.
    Their poverty was lower.
Their GDP per capita was higher.
Being friends with US, China and Europe while doing better economically coupled with superiority complex inherent to Islam - Pakistanis were figuratively on moon. Things have changed in next 25 years. That’s why it is hard for them to come to terms with India’s rise. Today, India is better than Pak on every parameter

Pakistan was able to get a cease fire when they were really hard pressed to find means to sustain the cross border firing. We have provided them breathing space to recover. Whereas we should put pressure on them and make them totally bankrupt.

As a Pakistani these kind of shows give reassurance that majority of Indians are sensible and well mannered. Being patriotic does not mean we disagree with the actual situation and most of views shared here are absolutely correct.
As a witness of extremism at its peak in 2008 and a uprise of fanatic psychos in shape of group and malicias, i worry greatly of the Indian inclination towards a theocratic hinduvata doctrine from a Secular society.

Literally since we stopped talking with pak where have we lost business or has it impacted us negatively? None at all. Let things be. Once pak grinds itself down we can pick up the pieces that we like and leave the rest to rot. After all keeping thr cancer out of the main body is wise no?

The core of PAK issue now is they thinking that they are equal to India and they are unable to get out of that mindset. During early days, PAK enjoyed US support and free money in billions. In this, they didn't even think about developing PAK with industries and economy. It was always dependent on funds from outside. Now that the funds have dried up they are shown the reality of PAK. China's exponential growth and taking on US has forced the US to shift from PAK towards India as only India can counter China in the region. Even US (whole world) knows that PAK will sleep with anyone for money and can't be trusted.

Indian economy has been 10 times Pakistan economy since 1960s. But per capita income in Pakistan was more than that of India till 2006.
So the big change is in per capita income after the printing press have been stopped/reduced in Pakistan.
India has a long way to go before leaving the past behind. Next 5-10 years are crucial.

    • @Canyouseemeanna
      @Canyouseemeanna Рік тому +1

Per capita is a very deceptive indicator since all they do is take total gdp and divide by the population but the problem lies in distribution of that money. E.g. China is a middle income country now with such a large economy and yet about 60% of that money is in hand of CCP. Similarly most of Pakistan's wealth lies in the hand of very few elites. Most of them are billionaires. So the issue is to avoid similar situation in India and the trajectory right now is precarious.

I don't understand why India always wants to compare and compete with China on anything. Thus is because China is only interested in minding her own business and lifting more than 900 million Chinese people out of poverty. Under benign & great leader Xi Jinping, the Chinese people are enjoying a life of peace, prosperity and happiness. In fact, tourists from countries all over the world have vouched that today's China is the safest, cleanest and most peaceful country to visit in the world. So for India to compare and compete with China, India must first solve its poverty problem, improve its sanitation standard, clean its drinking wster and food and make its country safe and peaceful. Moreover, India's rail transport is a joke and outdated by ages compared to Vhina's High Speed Rail. Why can't India seek China,'s help to build its rail transport, like a good neighbour should? India and China should be good neighbours and friends,!
