When I was growing up I wanted to make a mortal kombat game where you would select a character on a fighting screen and play through their current life. I will never be able to do that but you do so much of a better job telling these characters stories than I could. Thanks for the great content man keep it up.
Well, i'm so glad for the video about Kung Lao. And you know, i can't just say about how much i love this character. It's literally my hero and most favourite character of all time. When i was a child, my dad brought me MK:SM disc for PS2 and God.. When i saw Kung Lao's image on it, he looked so mysterious, so deadly, so severe and skilled. I actually just couldn't take my hands off that disc because of him. Imagine what i thought playing as him.. Gosh.. Although my first mk was Deception, Kung Lao became my favourite character. As growing up i was involving myself in his personality and who he is and was getting more excited and excited about him. Damn.. Midway really liked Kung Lao, they didn't leave him behind. And now just watching, what a clown he became.. That might sound strange but i really love this character and seeing what they done to him is just horrible to me. I don't deny that his impulsivness appeared in Shaolin Monks, but in SM that really emphasized his motives, it showed just how serious and severe he is in achieving his goals, he WAS NOT A SHOW OFF. He got his personality changed in mk9, not that mysterious and strict, but i'm OK with him in mk9, he is still skilled and is really thinking about his friends and most of all, he is not a clown show off. His human version in mkx was actually really awesome: serious, skilled and wise, you can really call him a master. I hoped we could actually see this version of him in a storyline, but mk11 came out. I really despise this game for many reasons, one of the biggest of them is how they turned the hero of your childhood, the first character you have ever liked, the mysterious, deadly, severe warrior to a clown with nothing left of what he had before. Damn that just really hurts me, i'm sorry
Kung Lao is a fascinating Character,however why I consider him as Underrated that Great is that instead of a Pacifist with honor he became a cocky frustrating A-hole like Kung Jin instead of developing the Character like Johnny Cage,he get Annihilated every time in a dirty way,and the costumes in MK11 are terrible that we didn't get to see his MK2,MK Deadly Alliance,MK Shaolin Monks,MK9,and MKX costume designs,I hope and pray that it can change on future instruments.

I've always liked Kung Lao more than Liu Kang, he's just a cooler Shaolin monk in my opinion, Kung Lao was treated way better under Midway than he is now under WB/NetherRealm, he is treated like a joke now and is killed off no matter what he appears in, he dies in MK 9, stays dead in MKX as revenant, he's still a revenant in MK 11 until his past self comes back, he is killed in the live action MK movie reboot by Shang Tsung taking his soul, killed in the anime MK movie battle of the realms by Shao Kahn literally ripping him in half, seeing how MK11 aftermath has ended, fire God Liu Kang has gone back in time to restart Kombat Kombat all over again, he went to see the Great Kung Lao and wants both of them to change MK history together, so it makes everything better for everyone in MK lore, I just hope that Kung Lao gets the respect he had under Midway back in MK 12, thanks for the the great video on my favorite Shaolin monk Kung Lao Fabian ✌️

I seem to remember bo 'rai 'cho couldnt represent earthrelm due to being from outworld if this is true how can shang tsung represent outworld or is this just an error in the lore?
Bo' Rai Cho never intended to represent Earthrealm. He just helped train some of their warriors. And over time the rules have been changed up a bit. Shang Tsung is confirmed from Earthrealm and betrayed them, so it seems you can in fact choose sides.

i just really hate the jealous petty personality they gave him in mk9 and shaolin monks. Also they really need to start showing him respect. Even other characters in game just talk about how they dont like him when fighting them. so lame. like clearly the devs or ed boon hate kung lao and its extremely bothersome.
Glad to hear that. Part of the reasons I make these are too attract people to these games they usually wouldn't be interested in. And Mortal Kombat is untouched when it comes to the in game story modes.

The Great Kung Lao doesn't even know Liu Kang. He died almost 500 years before. He only met him in the New Era when Liu Kang was a god.
