Amazing you salvaged what you did - just shows how fortune favours the brave! Hope you show the making of the benches from your wood - that sawmill looks so useful! Perhaps you could demo all it's abilities?! Keep safe up there.
Fantastic guys! Dangerous work but the rewards of salvaging the old girl will create a life time of story’s yet to be told around a camp fire with the family! Stay safe as always !👍
This was so awesome to watch ! Thanks for the videos. Sorry to hear about losing the Tree and land. That Tree was massive! So cool to watch you mill it up as well. FUN FACT: Rope swings are amazing arnt they !?? My home town, born and raised there, is Powell River B.C on the Sunshine Coast....there, we call them a "Zunga" as long as it goes over Water, but basically a Rope Swing is a Zunga. The name "Zunga" Originated in P.R and has since then been added to the Dictionary. Love the Videos and your land. Keep it going, I love your channel ! Cheers and stay safe out there.
Sad that the old Girl fell over but, happy that you guys were at least able to salvage some. Glad that the tree didn't block the river and cause more unneeded erosion to your property! Stay safe!
Dang, 4 to 5hundred years, shame it came down but you did salvage what you could, last year my brother took down an Ash tree, couldn't tell exactly how many years old as the core was missing/rotted, we counted 150 rings before the hole so 200 plus, it was over 6 feet/2 meters across at 3 feet/1 meter up, unfortunately the Ash bore beetle had killed it, took 4 days to cut it up for firewood, thank God we had a log splitter, those rounds would have been rolling in to the woods otherwise LoL I like your rope swing
That is a Big Doug! I always tell people looking to buy land here in Washington: Look for old growth stumps. A tree managed to grow that big and then the stump is still here after the Lowland Puget Sound Logging era (1860-1940), means the land is stable. But next to a river? Your Big Doug grew for 400 years and then the River Gods took it!
As you were cutting the tree I’m yelling count the rings! Lol. What an impressive tree that was, a shame the dang river took its soil away, but glad you have tools to make something with it. Why didn’t you keep all of it? 🍻
A tree that old deserved more dignity than that, in some parts of the world, such as New Zealand, they take old trees like that and put it in museums or use them to make tables or hand carve boats indigenous kayaks seem a shame to the purpose it for lumber. but hey, it's your tree, not up to me to tell you what to do. Maybe if you had asked? but you didn't ask because it's your tree.Kauri is a majestic tree king of the forest pursued and revered by ancient Maori mariners and the European explorers that followed.Kauri is among the world's mightiest trees, growing to over 50 m tall, with trunk girths up to 16 m, and living for over 2000 years.
I'm a trucker that drives by your place every day. Now I want to come play on that swing. Thanks for all the great videos.
Great stuff…real ppl. Keep the “choking” as an intro…..so funny, I had a barrel laugh

What a beautiful life you all have out there in the woods. Loved that huge tree, sorry it came down but you will make beautiful things out of it.

Very impressive start to finish.
The good ole boys.
Interesting shenanigans as always, although now sad, my swing appears very boring.
Is your sawmill a hobby or your day job? What a great setup? Lots of logs to salvage and mill I would imagine.
.. Cheers to you ..
Nice work men on that 500 yr old tree
I was guessing

The root was as big as a tree wow huge!
Sometimes the best things in life is just a simple rope swing. 😎👍

omg i hope you take some nice big slabs from some of those logs
Good day. I and many of your fans are wondering when the next ACTION packed episode will be out?
Hey Ger, what does STE stand for. Great channel! Thanks!
First 3 letters of their last name 👍

Great
The good ol' days where a helmet wasn't required to do the fun things. :)
Hows the sowaqua road?
Human tetherball.
Can I borrow your sawmill?
I got wood and I want to make a sauna. Oh yeah, I also got the logs too.
