I just wanted to thank you for making this video, I followed your guide and was able to successfully replace both rear bearings, the drivers side being the most critical. I can now say I will change bearings all day long as long as I don’t have to deal with the way they mounted that stabilizer bar! Such a pain for sure.

The best thing about the stabilizer bar is those stupid aluminium drop links break easily too, and the brackets all rust badly

i pulled this trick off at werk. the kit was not quite right. then i came back to your vid and saw the slide hammer. that was the trick to getting it done.
took me roughly an hour to complete. if i din't have customer cars to do i could of completed in lesser time.

A good informative video , but I do have a couple of constructive criticisms,
1 please put the axle stands under your car properly , the way you had them , facing from back to front , if the jack gives way the car will drop onto the axle stands and they will slip sideways on the rear arms and the car will fall.safety first
2 please don't use a screwdriver as a chisel/punch its a good way to hurt yourself .chisels and punches are designed for a certain job 👍
Apart from that you did a good job , and I am very impressed with the bearing puller kit

Tip for some, make sure it's a 12point socket for the axel nut. And if your bearing is really bad. The inner bearing race may get stuck to your hub and you're better off just ordering a new hub, as it's damn near impossible to get the race off

When you pull the hub into the inner race of the bearing you have to use a plate of the size of the inner race (an old race is the best), otherwise it's super easy to destroy the bearing

Hi, excellent how-to. One question on the socket used for getting the nut off the axle: you mention 30mm socket, but my car has more edges than hex, and BMW part catalog says its 40mm. E46 320i, M54B22. So my question is what type and size of nut have you used? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for watching! I think you make a mistake when you press is wheel hub. You must put washer behind the bearing so washer should be smaller then a hole behind in a knuckle. You can fix this problem with tightening axle shaft to torque specs.

You need to remove wheel hub, then parking brake shoes and then remove 10 mm bolts which hold the back plate. Bearing it self you don't need to remove, but when you will removing wheel hub half of the bearing will come out with hub. That's why better to replace bearing same time.
