I heard a scientist years ago confirm that the climate is changing. He then said it has been changing since it began. He went on to state that global warming has happened before but he didn’t think it was the carbon emissions from cave fires.

Think of all the asthma, bronchitis, cancers, invasive species spreading diseases, that we could save money over! We put out about 10% of the Carbon in the air...so if we dropped it all, which is impossible, that means the rest of the world is doing 90%. As someone who works in education, I have thoroughly loved these clips. So many of the students I work with have no idea what is going on in our government, how it works, who is who, what are the stand points and what is being talked about, and all of these videos truly have helped because the more informed I can stay the more I can pass onto my students. Understanding Civics and the operations of the country you live in is critical and it truly is a shame so many younger up and coming adults are kept ignorant by the beauracracy.

@@garysarela4431 I’ve been waiting for the Climate changer fear mongers to be correct one time in nearly 50 years of my lifetime (I was in 2nd grade when my teacher was saying the Earth was going to be covered with a sheet of ice in just a few years - late 1970s). Then, I met an elderly man, maybe 22 years ago, who told be to go look at the early 1900s where Global Warming was used to fear mongers and impose taxes, govt regulations, govt control over the citizens; and before that it was global cooling, again, in the 1800’s. I did, and he was correct, this narrative to steal our money and our power has been being used for nearly 200 years.
Go look up Dan Peña, billionaire, who went to Antarctica with his wife to renew their vows. The scientists there showed him ice cores where it showed that the Earth has been 2°C higher thousands of years ago, before cars, before oil, before electricity, before coal, and the scientists told Dan Peña that weather is cyclical and there’s no need to be worried about it. That was probably the Green Era where Carbon was higher (btw, higher carbon means more tree, crop, vegetation, grass, etc growth, b/c our vegetation thrives on carbon levels). Which begs the question, Is that why those wanting to depopulate the Earth want lower Carbon levels, so the food, crops, trees, vegetation has a more difficult time growing and people die because of a lack of food? It’s really sick if you think about it. You can find the information about the Green Carbon Era from a non-govt scientist. All you have to do is seek the information. Also, the reason the one ice cap is melting is because there is a lava plume flowing under the west side of the ice cap, which was found by NASA, Japanese, and German scientists.
As for the hole in the Ozone, which they fear mongered when I was in Jr High/High School and after, that hole actually acts like an emergency release valve for the Earth, and the Ozone Layer thickens and thins according to the seasons.

I’m 70 and I agree with you. It seems it been brought up in every democratic administration. I remember well the 1970s and the threat of the new ice age. The problem created by the Carter Administration and gas lines and only being able to get 10 gallons of gas only on certain days defined by your last name. People were freezing in the winter hot in the summer. The wood/coal stoves were very popular and underground houses were built to regulate temperatures inside the home.
What a farce created by the government to control We The People.
What’s more is the way these politicians never seem to suffer during these so called climate changes. They keep doing what they tell us to stop doing.
Now it’s getting too hot and the glaciers are melting, oceans are rising so cut off all carbon industries and natural gas for all but the elite. They continue to drive in gas guzzling vehicles, fly in private jets, and buy mansions on the coastline.

When you want to ban oil drilling it makes gas too expensive for poor people afford to go to the doctor, or they can’t afford good groceries because they’ve become too expensive due to high cost in transportation. Building homes on the coasts is at your own risk. There has always been corrosion on the coasts. There just hadn’t always been this many people living on the coasts.

Fun fact, the largest explosion of life on Earth was when atmospheric CO2 levels were around 800 ppm. Also, the co2 level seems to go up after the global temperature increases, not before.

We need to have the choice . The climate changes naturally. That is why there have been ice ages in the past, and there will surely. be more ice ages. There need to be laws against politicians lobbying for industries to receive large government contracts in which they have financial interests in. For example: Bob Dole, and Kerry, I forget his sorry first name. These people are pathetic. We do not affect climate change to a point in which it will cause the planet to be effected. This is all about money and personal wealth for the politicians, or in the case of AOC; it is just pure stupidity.

I believe that when a different energy source comes along that would be reliable and cheaper to produce people won’t need to be forced to go to it because they will naturally go to it but it is not here yet and fossil fuels still make more sense than anything else I have not seen a solar panel on top of a semi truck hauling your food yet
Green energy can't compete - the government subsidizes it with our tax dollars. There are proven green energy options, but that is not what they want. There is hydroelectric and geothermal just to name 2. Climate changes every so often. Nothing to do with us. I grew up in places like LA when you couldn't see across the city. Because of smog. When I went back later in life it wasn't even close to what it was in the 70's and 80's. We make energy cleaner then most if not all the countries that make fuel.

I am anti AOC, but after listening to this discussion, I don't see any reason to deny the amendment. Perhaps add language to assure benefits of fossil fuels is part of the discussion AND dont use language about impacting people of color more as that is a lie. I live in Texas and we have had 3 years of big freezes. I tried to convert to electric but you cannot warm up with central air because when it gets below 32 degrees and sometimes above it just doesn't work but freezes on the outside just as minisplits and space heaters you have to be directly in front of them and hope an iced tree branch does not fall on electrical wires or transformers freeze because then it's out for a week or more. I just happened to live in an old home that did have gas and happened to have 1 heater (hadn't used in years) and it saved us the winter we had freeze for a week. Then I bought three more gas heaters and have stayed warm during the freezes very well. Well I was raised using gas heaters and we were always comfortable during winter. We are still waiting on the verdict as to whether we are in the middle of climate change since we have been freezing the last three years straight.
When the grid goes out the grid goes out. Fuel doesn't. If everything you rely on is electric you're going to be the first to die in any kind of disaster
you're an adult, you should know how to keep yourself warm no matter what. get over it, you choose to live there.

Once upon a time, I worked for a Road & Bridge Mfg in an industrial area. On the backside of the block across the road, A Developer decided to put in expensive Executive Home sites. One night around 11:30, a highway sign post (Oil Pipeline grade pipe) fell from a crane and sounded off like the bells of St. Mary's. Woke up the entire neighborhood. You can't imagine the number of complaints that came in over the course of the next week.
My point is, do your own due diligence. If you don't like listening to Airplanes, don't buy a house close to the Airport. Oil Companies do not drill in downtown Chicago, they drill in unpopulated areas. This is a simple formula, Democratic amendment/policy = more unnecessary regulation = INFLATION.
Not to mention the fact that Environmental studies already have to be done before any development can be started, therefore this amendment (like it's Author) is totally useless.
