Been ripsticking for 10+ years and just switched from skiing to snowboarding this season, picked up snowboarding so fast. You giving great advice here 👍
Thanks Jake! Yeah, after 22 years of teaching you learn a few tricks. I'm stoked to be able to share this knowledge of everyone for free versus them having to pay a lesson to find out
Bro I love ripstiks I always used to ride them… definitely going to purchase one for practice didn’t even think about this. I’ve never been snowboarding in my life but I’m making the decision to live for myself and that’s one thing I want to learn at a professional level
I've always wanted to learn and ive tried a few times but have always been too scared im gonna bust my face open 😂 it's never been explained to me like how he did though, so I'll try this the next time I get an opportunity
As a former snowboarding instructor, I would ask kids beforehand if they ripsticked at all... just because they would pick up snowboarding incrementally faster then kids who didn't. Such a great tool for learning, if you understand the torsional flex of your board before you know your edges, learning to turn will be a cakewalk.
I loved this back in 2017!! I didn’t know that snowboarding and the ripstick was so similar, might try it out! Only problem is you can’t just yeet yourself off the ripstick LMAO
Dude I've been binging your videos and always thought my ripstick would help with snowboarding or sand boarding. And people all it takes is 30 min or less of dedication and you have the confidence
Wonder why i picked up snowboarding so fast !! Now i know i used to have one of those when i was a kid i was the only one good at it. Never thought that this helped me know it makes sense! 😮
I rode these for a while when I was younger then got into snowboarding and got good fast! Even if you don’t plan on snowboarding you should try and buy one of these, they are super rub
Damn, this is my 6th time i go skiing but next time i want to go snowboarding.I have this thing at home and i'm pretty good at it so this gives me a more confidense by seeing this!
I don’t have a ripstick but I’ve been skateboarding for a year and a few months now and it’s gonna be my first time snowboarding this weekend so I hope some of the skills carry over
I’ve had a rip stick for so long and I go on it everyday, I’ve always wanted to do snowboarding but I was scared that I wouldn’t be good at it, and here we are I just found out this. Ima go snowboard this year.
okay so that’s why the first time i went snowboard i did as good as i did, i grew up riding a rip stick when they originally came out and then for like ten years after that
Tried snowboarding last winter. Watched a tutorial but mostly just threw myself down the slope hoping i didnt die during one of my numeral Dals. The front first once are horryfying. I got it tho the point where i can say that i know how to snowboard i can turn both directions and "smoothly switch ower" on the second day but i rested with some skiing cuz my legs were dying😅. Thoug sometimes it still felt like i was gonna die initiating a turn but they went well. Are there some tips for that i dont want get stuck not turning and sometimes twisting the bord dont do to much. And the lift T lift i think which is what i have to work with are scary sometimes cuz u glide and have to parry and if i wanna go too the topp my leg is gonna be dead. Is 2 days decent to go upp and down being abel to turn all ways and only falling mby 4/10 times dont remember. Luckely i newer got seriously hurt just lay down a minut and im upp. It was fun to learn and you was one of the reasons why i did. I got it faster then i thought and i did think i signed upp too get face planted too the ER but it went fine and recommend other tho try. It was scary in the beginning and a little after you get some cind off controll but if you take your time and just throw yourself out there you will probably be fine.
I dont like to keep my snowboard pointing down to long cuz it goes to fast but constantly breaking makes me werry fatigued. Tho i went do a not at steep hill it went better. Shere wasent to much powder where i went it was quite hard and compact so that may have made things worse?
I once told my snowboarding friend that it was like ripsticking but he said No lol I guess he didn’t want to compare the two?? Now I know I was right lol. I ski btw, never boarded.
I had one like this with Spider-Man theme, absolutely loved it but nowhere to practice. Barely any flat spaces/areas, and even fewer that’s asphalt or sement you can practice on
There's a type of board called a freebord that almost perfectly emulates the feeling of snowboarding. It's like a longboard with casters in the middle that move omnidirectional. I learned to ride that on asphalt and then picked up snowboarding in a day, muscle memory was almost 1:1

You just unlocked a memory for me and before even finishing your short I already ordered myself a ripstick, truly the hero I needed
Learned how to snowboard before these things were invented! Been on a few of them! For sure good practice
Thanks dude! I’ve been skiing for a while and have been wanting to get into snowboarding as it looks like a ton of fun!
Love to hear it man! I hope you pick up a ripstick and snowboard all season! Shred happy!
Me too man!
I have the joy to have this at home
i love how the steven universe theme has made its way into alot of tiktoks and shorts. great show
Wow thats why I learned so fast on my first day. Can’t wait to snowboard again on my 2nd day on the 31st, got addicted to it 😂
I've been riding one of these for like 5 years!!!! Hopefully when I eventually get to snowboard I'll pick it up really fast :) 🤞🤞
Damn ripsticks are $40 bucks now 😢. They really fell off, was a luxury item during its prime lol
how it always is ahah, when a new item comes out, wait a lil while till they make all their money then get em for 80% off lmao
You're such a genius. How did I not see this? 😂 Getting mine out of storage
My kids are all super good at riding ripsticks hopefully it translates well to snowboarding 🤞

I still ride my rip stik till this day but have never snowboarded only skied
Those things are so much fun,
I was always used to tell people that a ripstick is incredibly similar to snowboarding
I've been teaching snowboarding for 22 years and I swear every person who ripsticks can pick up snowboarding so much easier
@@halfcabking the real difference is you can't really catch an edge on a ripstick like a snowboard, but the motion is the same
This is awesome info Brother Thank You!
I like the snow as a crash pad tho not concrete 😂
I rode these for a while when I was younger then got into snowboarding and got good fast! Even if you don’t plan on snowboarding you should try and buy one of these, they are super rub

I'm going to be in the Tahoe city/Olympic valley area this weekend and will be listening for your laugh.
Rip sticks need to get more popular again. They are great for a lot of balancing stuff
Amen to that
I had my rip stick since 2011, its the best way learn to snow board if it's down hill not flat
Dang, I want to try snowboarding next weekend. Was thinking that the ripstick would help!
I love it helps me so much!
Bro you are go goated at everything you do
I don’t have a ripstick but I’ve been skateboarding for a year and a few months now and it’s gonna be my first time snowboarding this weekend so I hope some of the skills carry over

Is this actually real? I used to riiiiipppp those at 5-8 years old, but i was never the best on snow. Havent been enough on the mountains tho!
I’ve had a rip stick for so long and I go on it everyday, I’ve always wanted to do snowboarding but I was scared that I wouldn’t be good at it, and here we are I just found out this. Ima go snowboard this year.
Man I can ripstick really well but when i tried to snowboard i just ate it a lot and it hurt my knees bending them all day😂
I have one and I’m pretty good at it, had no clue it’s the same thing!
I always ripstick. Now I wanna snowboard
Try a freebord if u really want to feel like boarding if is freakishly similar the spott
Been ripstiking for multiple years, even walk my dog on it every day, I am a good skier but about to try snowboarding this weekend, any tips?
This is literally how i always have taught people to ride, but now i need to go buy one for myself for summer shredding bruh
Exactly how I learned to snowboard aha
I literally love my rip stick so much
I’m Australia or at least everywhere I went when I was a kid all of us had ripsticks and at the caravan park we would roll around in a mob 😂
Never knew I was snowboarding this whole time
okay so that’s why the first time i went snowboard i did as good as i did, i grew up riding a rip stick when they originally came out and then for like ten years after that

So using a rip stick can be translated into using a snowboard? Then I’m ready to snowboard
I❤️RIPSTICK
I've been riding ripstics since 7 years old soo, I'm already halfway there to snowboard
Just a question but where do you usually snowboard
I’ve never been snow boarding but I’m really good at rip stick/skateboarding. Does that mean I’ll be good at snowboarding
I feel like I could pickup snowboarding fast. But I have never been able to use a ripstick😢😂
I’m a pro at rip sticking so if I’ll be good at snow boarding too
I once told my snowboarding friend that it was like ripsticking but he said No lol I guess he didn’t want to compare the two?? Now I know I was right lol. I ski btw, never boarded.
Rip sticks are so fun
Dang, i have terrible balance and whenever i used to try to use our rip stick id always fall :,)
I had one like this with Spider-Man theme, absolutely loved it but nowhere to practice. Barely any flat spaces/areas, and even fewer that’s asphalt or sement you can practice on
Damn I had a robstick since I was a kid ig ik the basics to snowboarding
I LOVE MY RIP STICK
Wait so you're telling me all those hours using mine could one day translate into snowboarding? That's awesome!

I had one before i ever snowboarded and never made the connection why i picked it up so fast this is crazy
This is what i tell people!!!
