I've watched at least 20+ vids ON the Necro and THIS video actually skips the BS and gets right to the points of articulating WHY and what each of your stated choices are good for. The problem with D4 minion is they are completely unreliable. They don't always attack enemies, let alone the enemy I want them to attack, instead it will attack randomly. They also have lost the function of priority targets, causing the minions to die so quickly it becomes moot. They need an attack my target function. Which was in the game prior but removed for some other functions of the game tied to the same AI code. Then this build will be viable.
This all started because the tornado's were functioning on the same AI as minions. For both players and AI enemies. Making tornado's so powerful, there was no other build that could compare. So to make the tornado's roam randomly, they switched the code. Now minions also attack random targets, roam randomly, and will switch targets mid fight.
As for your corps explosion, you need the aspect that causes the corps to come alive, sprint to the nearest target, then explode. Pair this with corps spawning abilities, and the boss fights will be over before they start. It is seriously a broken build.

Instead of BLood wave, go Army, as it is a great safety net to instantly get your minions spawned again, should you lose them all in a boss fight and corpses drop too slow!

I actually used a build similar to this during the beta - instead of blood wave though, I used bone prison, and the decompose instead of bone splinters. My Aspects were basically the same, expect I eventually found the one that changed the corpse explosions to the running guys (howl from below), and I had the rotting aspect (that chained decompose to a total of 3 enemies), as well as the one that causes minions to get increased attack speed (frenzied dead) - for the extra chances of reaping more corpses.
The point about the build was to use reaper skellies (with the +2 aspect) and decompose to create corpses, then use corpse tendrils to suck in enemies, put a prison down on them, and go crazy with corpse explosions. Both Corpse Tendrils and Bone Prison causes vulnerability, as well as stunned, which - with the right aspect - causes you to deal more damage as well.
Decompose, Corpse Explosions, Corpse Tendrils, Bone Prison, Skeletons and Golem. Just make sure to keep skellies and golems up - skellies with Reaper and flesh carve, Cold Mages with Vulnerability upgrade, and Bone Golem with corpse shedding at 20% damage. Then you let them go in and take aggro, hopefully they create corpses for you, but you start decomposing for your own corpses (3 corpses every 2.5s) and then you go to town with a tendril, prison and explosions. When you finally have the unique - howl from below - you dont even really have to aim corpse explosions at the enemy, just... pump it out.
It was so much fun and it felt like I could do anything (it carried me throughout the entire beta).

The legendary that I'm rocking for blood wave is spawning two extra waves after each blood wave, each doing 33% less damage. It's kinda cracked and does a good amount of pushback

I remember during the open beta when I got the aspect that increased the number of bone mages (can't remember if it was 1 or 2 offhand), so if you really want to go full "army of the dead", you'll want to get your hands on both the bonus warriors and the bonus mages. That extra mage or two with the chill specialization were routinely freezing elites for me which was a big help. Still on the fence if I want to try and focus on a ranged build like this or go with a melee thorns build with the shield skelies.
Unless they changed it you can actually get bonus mages and bonus warriors in each category of item. One of each for Weapon, Jewelry, and armor. In total giving you +6 to warriors and +3 to mages.
If you put the 2 mage aspect on a neck you get 3 from the 50% buff.
I started as a barbarian and this video completely changed me to a necromancer that corspe explosion is crazy

@Connor Barth I was level 29 when I switched . I'm level 34 now, and it's still kicking ass. And if you run into a boss with no ads your army will help create corpses for you. Very satisfying build don't hesitate
Decompose with enhanced and initiate for extra corpse, essence, and slow cc instead of splinter.
do you remove tendrils for the golem?
Hey there. I play on Xbox and i have been playing and following this guide but I don’t know if i have missed something. It’s about the skills. I can’t fit them all. Raise skeleton, corpse explosion, corpse tendrils, blood wave, Boone splinters and bone spear. Those skills make the bar full. When i get the golem i had to take something away and that was corpse tendrils. Am i missing something here? Can you have more skills than six? Thank you for great content btw. Keep up the good work

If you want a nice boss and crowd killer necro, go blood build. I solo everything with the blood build, from clearing mobs with an AOE, to single target crit DPS. It's also a very easy build to learn, rotation is extremely simple. Tanky as all get out to boot.

I run a explosion blood build with shadow damage and minions 😂 so I do corpse skills. I mix tendrils, explosion, and the blood nova mostly. They also have buffa that do the create more corpses by a chance of 12%. I make the specters that also do corpse explosion after. I also got the heart that makes all my corpse skills activate every second by thierselves. I don't even use a basic attack. I also use the decrepify curse. Corpse explosion along with blood nova will hit repeatedly. Decrepify had a side extra that makes the ult charge faster. So if I hit 20 times in under a second. Ult recharges instantly I got my atk speed at the max. I made the blood wave hit 3 extra times and do extra damage with a shadow pool that deals more damage. I keep getting all my heath back instantly. Get damage and ult charge for its cool down. Also I don't use two handed stuff. I use the one hand and talisman. I do the same damage, get more stats and another added bonus passive. I used cold makes cuzz chilled and darkness damage deal extra damage. I also have 2 extra mages and I use the eccence

It's funny how corpse explosion is still one of the main aoe for necros still. I used it back in d2 classic lol

I’m building blood necro right now. They seem to be very good and put out HUGE damage.
This is super similar to what I’m doing, but blood instead of bone. I’m dishing out decent damage in T2 at lv47, but I’m nervous about soloing the capstone dungeon. I think I’m gonna swap out my blood stuff for bone, and spec into corpse explosion instead of both skeletons and the golem. Thanks for this!

Yeah i think this is the best build right now, im using the same exact build except for the blood wave but i have no cc so i might switch over to blood wave tbh.
Even with the Nerf on the Corp explosion and I mean a serious serious serious Nerf it still looks pretty solid

Hey I noticed I can't have this build with both golem and skeletal army. There is a limit on the hotbar
On the build page, you chose the Bone Golem but the Blood Perk 1.

Why golem mastery ? if you have only 4 spells slots you can use him (tendril, corpse epl, raise skel and blood wave).
In the guide you say to get golem mastery but you don’t have golem equipped do i just ignore that? And have an extra 3 skill points?
I've followed this guide on just loot it to the letter but the only thing missing is the paragon point order for this build. Do you have a video for that?

My necro uses the miasma for corpse explosion. Its at the point where that AoE does all the work.
Bunch of other stuff at play but the miasma is where the dps sits on my build.

thing i hate about the miasma is the loss of all visibility. what's your experience w that?
@@bullpaxton2001 it's not ideal but it doesn't last overly long plus you can use it as means of regaining essence.. its all positives aside from the visuals.

In the video it shows bone golem, and the written guide says use bone golem too. Im confused because the written guide also quotes blood golem trait "absorbs 15% of damage you would have taken" and shows blood golem icons.
Forgive me if this is a silly question, new to Diablo. How do I slot each of these skills? I have summon skele in slot 1, corpse explosion slot 2, tendrils slot 3, bloodwave slot 4, bone splinters slot 5, and bone spear slot 6. Where does my golem fit into the slots? I count 7 skills that require activation but only six slots. Thanks so much.

So do you equip corpse tendrils or not? It's not on your abilities bar at all.
Got a necromancer named bonedaddy and pretty much have the same set up at lvl 51 so far

I’m using bone storm. Found a legendary that makes you invulnerable while it’s up.
Put ench on neck, you get +3 skeletons instead of 2 you have atm on boots.

How much of this has been nerfed since posted? I know nerfing is not all bad but i just want to know so i can make a good, stable necro build. I put so many skill points into just keeping my minions alive its unreal.
I thought I was gonna be lost when I bought the game but I’m really proud that I made this amazing build by myself literally every single ability except blood wave but now I will try it thank you for this educational video :)

Nice build but I wish minions weren’t so squishy. They are fine in general content but as soon as I come up against a tough boss they die very quickly and it’s super frustrating. I’m beginning to see why so many builds ditch the minions.

Great vid, I was struggling with the bone spear/minion sacrifice builds I’ve seen elsewhere. Question though - I don’t have enough room on my bars to have Corpse Tendrills AND the Golem. What am I missing here?
i got the same issue, explosion, raise skeletons, raise golem, wave splinter and spear on bars, wheres the room for tendrils?
@@galad1980 Right? I keep looking to see if there's something that auto-raises the Golem (or a reason not to have another ability) but I'm not seeing it.
