Your videos never disappoint. You always have fun and laugh. We always learn something. Like today to make small moves to fish adjust the weights to keep contact with the bottom. Small things but if you don't you may just have a bad trip. But if you do something you might salvage it. Thanks . Be blessed. My brother.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Any day on the water is a great day 😊 better than working 😊
You got that right!
Great video Micka. You caught some quality fish that I hope I can catch a couple like that tomorrow. Going after ten pound eaters.
Thank you. I appreciate that. I hope you get a boat full of em.
Love your videos man! Look forward to watching many more!
@@RiverJunkie thank you. I appreciate that.
Awesome videos sir. Keep catching..
@@brucefortune5861 thank you
I've been catching some nice LMB and crappie trolling 2 crankbait and 1 swimbait behind my kayak
It's a really effective way to catch fish for sure.
Man awesome video really you sharing knowledge going to try trolling white bass
@@michaelknight9112 thank you. It's a good technique.
Them some nice fish thanks for the video
@@josephdunivan9432 thank you
Looks like you had a nice day out there on the river
@@PopPopJoe yeah it was definitely a fun day for sure.
Another great video. I would sure love to pick your brain for a bit. I have just started trying my hand at this this year downstream of you in KY and I sure can't figure it out. In 8 trips and untold hours I have caught 1 fish out of 2 total bites. I have tried multiple areas of the lake and the actual river beyond the dam.
@@redneckolympics dang I hate to hear that. That can definitely get frustrating. Bit if you fallow me on Facebook just hit me up and I can try and answer whatever questions you have.
Great job brother!
@@CRAPPIEfishin thank you
Thanks for the bait catching segment! On your cat rigs do you use J hooks? I noticed you setting the hook pretty good. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you. Well I use the wisker seeker triple threat hooks. So with those hooks you can use them like a circle hook and a J hook. They are a hybrid hook and I really love them.
@@mickaburkhart14 Got them coming in the mail. Thank you! Thanks for the 15% discount code also!
Great video
@@trinityoutdoors thank you
Was just wondering if you kept the drum or ever use drum for bait? It has proven to be a good bait for us recently. Actually won a tournament on it last September. Great video as always.
@@chrisclay1502 I didn't keep the drum but I have used it and did pretty good with it. Your right it does make good bait.
Stroll for white perch same way but I use a crankbait with a 3 way swivel and a rooster tail on it
Hmm, Now that's a pretty good idea. Give them a little something extra.
@mickaburkhart14 yes the crank bait on bottom of 3 way with a 12 to 15 inch leader and the rooster tail on top with a 32 ro 36 inch leader
@@thomasedenbeck2392 I'm definitely going to try that. Thank you.
@@mickaburkhart14 you are welcome man
Well Done Micka. Enjoyed the trolling content. Now that I am old, trolling would be an easier way to target white bass for bait. Casting a lot is starting to hurt my shoulder and back.
Would like your thoughts on dragging sections of the river that are narled up with bottom structure. I've been getting some nice cats in a slow bend in the river, but it is chunked up with bottom debris and I'm getting hung up multiple times, dagum frustrating when you got 5 lines out-4 planers. Was thinking next time out going a tad slower with a longer and lighter dragging weight (2 1/2 oz) and slightly smaller/lighter bait? Want to also say thank you for the heads up on Whisker seeker triple threat hooks, best I have ever used. How can you tell you are not touching bottom? Does the board tip towards you? Sorry for the long post, I've learned a ton from ya.
@@markybob_bassplaya1462 yeah I'm going to actually do a very specific video on the different types of dragging weights and how to read the bottom with them. That video will be coming up soon. Yeah them triple threats are the best I've used so far also.
@@mickaburkhart14 Thanks Micka.
Cool video micka
@@jimsmith-i3r thank you
What speed do you drag? I've never dragged baits, but I think it'll work well where I'm fishing. I'm fishing rivers with 0 to 2 mph current.
@@fishintherutt3897 I typically drag at .3 to .5.
@mickaburkhart14 Thanks, man. Also, thanks for all the great videos. Always full of great info.
Whats your favorite reels to use? I bought a few of your new veteran tribute rods, and im stumped on what reel to match it with lol. Thanks for the videos, man! I relined a few of my rigs off of your rigging video! I'm trying them out Saturday!
@@andrewcornelius1906 thank you. I use the penn fathoms. They are a bit expensive but as much as I fish they are a must. If you are looking for a good budget reel the piscifun chaos 60 in black looks awesome on that rod.
@mickaburkhart14 thanks for the reply man! It's funny you say that, I'm running that on your older series as well as 2 other madkat rods. The piscifun are good. Wish madkat would have released a reel along it lol
@@andrewcornelius1906 yeah I was running the piscifun before I upgraded and never had an issue with them.
Another good video. My last 2 trips out i tried fishing later in the day getting out around 330. Pretty much got skunked. Don't know really what's going on. Im heading back to the mighty Mississippi river. Lol
@@charlesjones2461 thank you. Yeah most if not all the fish I have been catching has been mid day.
Is like to add i appreciate what you are doing for veterans, im a veteran myself. I didn't really need anymore rods but i ordered a couple of your signature series rods feom mad katz just dor that reason. Thanks again @mickaburkhart14
@@charlesjones2461 thank you. I really do appreciate that.
Do you ever use drum for bait
@@billylusk3515 I have on occasion. It works pretty good.
How do you identify male or female blue catfish? Size of head?
@@GrandpaMick20 yeah it's a noticeable difference in the size of the haed and how big the mouth is.
Cool video micka
