Well unlike the 10/12 & pre 1972 9/12 Allertors which can spin anti clockwise or clockwise, due to the rotor blades being straight, the 8/12 Allertor was designed for the rotor to spin in anti clockwise rotation due to the slanted blades on the rotor being angled that way for chopping air most efficiently as it has a directional rotor.
@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens That's still a short blast nonetheless. Doesn't matter if it reaches up to full speed or not. Plus, Cresco City Hall considers this a weekly growl test.
Very nice, one of my favourite sirens these. I enjoyed the windown.
Really wish they'd get around to rewiring this thing.
Remember. These are the models that do not have that directional tech it will be the same loudness either being wired correctly or wired reverse
@@thedancingpickle6362 Incorrect. The 8/12 chopper *is* directional.
What source says this? (I'm saying this in a respectful way)
@@thedancingpickle6362 I discovered this 2 years ago and I have video of Woodstock's Allertor to prove the 8/12 is directional.

Awesome Video! It's nice to see another video of this Allertor! Also, did you have to call them to get them to test?
Nope, iirc it was a few minutes late but I never had to call.
Cool!
Tornado sirens are the coolest
Aca allertor-50
No.
What about ACA Alertor 69
@@arnoldluz05 .... No, it's just an 8/12 port Allertor....
I wouldn't consider this a growl test because it reaches full pitch. This is more like a Short blast
I suppose, it's so short I figured it was.. close enough.
@@NoisySirens yeah growl tests are short tests that don't reach 100% speed
@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens I would still consider this a growl. Technically, growls are short blasts.
@@xXSo1arGamingXx I always heard that they were more like bumps and they never get to full speed??
