About Bridgerton: Bridgerton is an upcoming American period drama streaming television series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes. The series based on Julia Quinn's best-selling novels, that follows the competitive world of Regency London high society. Julie Andrews will voice the pivotal character of Lady Whistledown. I agree the Duke's appearance would have enhanced Season two. There were many scenes his absence was felt. The Wedding of his Best friend, Will Mondrich's new endeavors, and the Bridgerton's Ball. Season two was great, but could have been even better.
Season 2 held it's own too. Daphne still held her own with her brother Anthony.
People forget that he was in the the series For the People. He didn't speak with an accent in it either. That was his USA start even though Bridgerton put him on the map. I loved For the People and was disappointed when it got cancelled after one season.

Season two was okay for me but it didn’t hold a candle compared to season one. I’m sure that’s because of the Duke! He was absolutely captivating to me, and I enjoyed the pairing of the Duke and Daphne!
@@alb5801 Well, also because it was all new, and we were all taking in the gorgeous costumes and all the characters, and it was all just so fascinating, like new love. :) Now it's becoming like an old friend. I agree with you about the Duke, btw. He certainly helped that story, but a lot of other stuff did, too.

They are family. The Duke and his family and Anthony and his family all need to be a part of the story line. As each sibling grow up and make their own families they should all interact.
Hard to do when you use popular actors like Rege. He signed for his story and his story is over. I'd guess he may do a guest star role a couple times for big events, and nostalgia, but no, he's not obligated to return. Only the Bridgertons are. Although Francesca is so busy she's only been in a few episodes herself. To be sure Rege isn't going to take a bit part in the background because if he did, he wouldn't be free to do other things that make much more sense for him.

The Duke had such a big role in season 1 I would have hated seeing him in a bit part in season 2, floating around with daphne, No thank You. There really is no real role for the Duke so it makes sense he went out with a bang. However if he returns to attend the odd ball or family meal then us fans will appreciate it.
Need more Duke!!! He's the reason I started watching. I wasn't a big fan of #2 because he wasn't present.
He's more than just eye candy! He has intelligence and personality and that voice! He's everything a man should be and more!
Simon carries himself in such an confident strong male way. He’s everything most women dream about. The chemistry between Daphne & Simon was so strong I had no interest in season 2. I will watch if he comes back for season 3 & 4.
Right and he has become a heavy role with his wife on the show whether or not it was ever intended to be that way. It would be a huge filming mistake to entirely exclude him.
@@tonjaadams7124 exactly and it’s rare to have a leading black male star. So many times it’s always a white attractive male star on a leading role. I’d be a huge huge mistake on so many fronts to remove him entirely. It doesn’t matter what the original story was supposed to be. Producing a movie is entirely different and sometimes you have to follow the direction the fans are receiving. You never know how any character is going to be perceived but any smart movie producer would realize this like many great movie producers do and are able to add in extra story lines and scenes in order to link everything together in the film to make everything make sense. Nothing worse then story lines that are left empty, supported characters that bring money to the show are removed, and too drastic of unconnected story changes is a film killer and any producer would know that. It’s not over even if they think it is, if they don’t fill him in throught any part of the seasons then it just leaves a lot of gaps that can ruin a movies success.
They did this with the game of thrones , adding scenes from actors who had adoring fans, adding small scenes or story lines around the main story line that wasn’t in the books to link everything visually together successfully, and sometimes even stirring the direction of a film entirely based on fan drive
Yes Rege playing the part of the Duke was phenomenal he made the show so exciting to watch. Pay him what he is worth. Yes he must return I never seen such chemistry between a couple on screen he made it look so genuine and real. Yes yes bring Simon back!!!!!

I try not to compare seasons because it represents difference love stories. I did enjoy him in season 1 and I enjoyed season 2 just as much. If he comes back great, if not then oh well lol. Y’all be okay. Lmaoo
I disagree entirely. Season one was good but more about discovering your sexual identity. The actors in season one had pretty good chemistry but totally unmatched to season 2. The chemistry, storyline, plot, and actors were all fantastic.
Duke and Daphne was the best romance couple, I can't get enough of them. So I've watched it over and over again. Definitely bring him back!!!
there are 7 other books that have nothing to do with them, but are equally, if not better love stories

It would be lovely to see his dynamic with his son.🥰 Also, he should be present to support his loyal friend, Will Modrich in his new endeavor (afterall, Will stood w/ him at that duel)… and Daphne should be expecting her 2nd child at some point (in S3). There are several connections that diffuse the “one and done” excuse. I hope RJP & Shonda work it out for the sake of viewers. Here’s hoping!🤞🏼

Each sibling had a storyline separate from Kate and Anthony. Daphine was the only one without a separate storyline. We need the Duke to back, so their story can continue as well It is true we fell in love with show because of the Duke and Daphine.

I watched the first season for one reason and one reason alone Daphne and the Duke. Great acting and so believable that was made it so wonderful. Season 2 was ok but nothing like the first season. An amazing show.
Simon and Daphne had the stronger love story to me. They had me enraptured in the heat of their love so much so that it seemed as if they were real-life loves! The innocence of their connection heightened the intensity of their love and love-making. I liked Anthony and Kate’s love story quite a bit, but their coming together did drag on a tad longer than I would have liked.
Exactly! Anthony & Kate was good but not better than The Duke & Daphne. We expect you to bring him back to keep the spice going. Even tho A&K will not be in the storyline I am sure they will play a large part in 3rd series. Colin & Pen is good but it will need the D&D & A&K to make it better.

I agree with you. I watched season 2 through but watched season 1 again. How can you not. He has to come back. Their lives should intertwine at some points. Like weddings and balls at the Bridgerton estates. Makes sense. 😊

I agree that they should bring the Duke and Daphne relationship back to the series. Although the Bridgerton family is very important and are very interesting and fun to watch, The Duke and Daphne relationship are my favorite couple in the series.
Honestly, him not being at his best friends wedding was so weird. It definitely felt off. I understand he wouldn't have as much of a role and "what's the point if I'm just standing in the background". But it makes a difference, for the audience and for the story. He's apart of their family and was friends with the brother before any of this even went down, so it was just odd.

In Season One when Anthony tells Daphne why she shouldn't date Simon he says and he was one of my good friends at Oxford actually the best.

1 What I really miss was the bond between him & his son. His father was horrible; I wanted to see him interact with his son & family. I love their union.
2 I miss him giving his friend Anthony advice or reason why he should not marry one sister & wanting the other.
3 He is eye candy with a soothing voice & a swagger....

Oh, we absolutely NEED the Duke back! 🥳🥳 I could tolerate his absence in season 2, because the focus was on Anthony and Kate. But Simon is family and let's be honest... Nothing was so sexy than the last episodes of season one 😏

Just because each season focuses on a different sibling doesn’t mean the married ones fall of the face of the earth. They can be like Daph and become a supporting character.

Yes I think the Duke should be back in the upcoming seasons. I love Daphne and Simons love story not to take away from Anthony and Kate I just liked Daphne and Simon better.. I don't care why he was not in season 2 I just want them to bring him back the intensity that him and Daphne share is wonderful to watch.

Hi guys, bring Simon back in the story, he is a pillar in this story, I keep watching over and over again the 1st season, not to say that season 2 wasn't threalling, but there is something so charming about Simon and Daphné characters.
I think I 've watched season 1 five or six times. There isn’t a romantic series anywhere with the chemistry between Simon & Daphne. I can’t bare to watch season 2
Simon and Daphanie are the reason that we fell in love with this show. The second season was ok but not great like the first season. If you want season 3 and 4 to be better, please bring back Simon even if it is only bit parts here and there so that you can highlight other couples. Just don't leave Simon out of the shows or people will stop watching.
I wish that could work. But I love Rege-Jean and his other projects. If he is contractually bound to Brigerton, just to make a cameo here and there, that would suck for his fans that love him in 9ther shows.

The Duke MUST appear again. Just to see that handsome face and wonderful voice in a cameo would be satisfying. He is part of the family and needs to appear. I can understand why he did not want another series after For The People but one or two episodes with him would not be much of a problem. Hope it happens,.
He enhances the show,the chemistry between him and Daphne captivates the audience. No offence to the producers or the cast,but I am sure that viewership is increased when he is present in the cast..

I was really hoping the Duke would have continued to show up. I fell in love with the show because of the Duke of Hastings and was very disappointed that he was not in season two. I think he needs to come back for cameo appearances. It’s been known actors come back and film cameos for more than 1 season. Have him film a lot of cameo’s and use in next 2 seasons. Simon and Daphne by far best story line.

He 100% needs to return. As you said, if even just for a cameo it makes no sense for him not to be seen with the entire family. I thought it was so bizarre that he wasn't at the wedding in season 2.
I agree it made no sense that the Duke was barely mentioned and never present for so many Bridgerton family events like weddings and balls or even a walkabout or a croquet match. He became such a beloved member of the family as did Kate that it felt weird that he was basically never spoken of. But Kate and Anthony ruled the season and I so enjoyed learning Anthony's backstory and personal torment. This season was less sexy but just as deeply developed as far as the principal roles.

I fell in love with this show because of the love story between the Duke and Daphne. I couldn't get into Season 2. (I'm sorry it didn't have that same kind of fire 🔥) Once I started hearing and seeing that Simon wasn't coming back for the next seasons to come. I actually couldnt get through all of Season 2. I'm hoping someone get it together and offer our favorite Duke a new contract going forward as he interact with his new bride's family and good friend. I will be watching for his possible return in seasons 3&4. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
The problem with season 2 is the love interest between Anthony and Kate took too long, literally to the end. It doused the flames.

Both stories are beautiful, I loved the second season 2 also! But I must confess, until the third part of 2nd season I was so angry that the Duke is not there that I could hardly focus.... He must come back.
The duke is the reason I am in love with the show! He is the man.
He should definitely return because he is a part of the family now. Another is that he and Daphne host the ball which is essential in Colin and Penelope's story (cause they are most likely the main couple in season 4)
They have tweaked the series somewhat from the books. The Duke was in the rest of the books after his & Daphne's initial story. Yes, they need to bring the Duke back...PERIODT!‼️‼️
YES, I want the Duke to return with Daphne on the show OR a Spin-off show!!! The Duke has to make a cameo appearance to attend special events, They may want to do a search for a replacement for the Duke's character. This is my last option. I will admit I am a HUGE Kanthony fan, however I would love to see Rege return as the Duke.

I'm sorry the Duke and Daphne story was much more steamy and the music and dancing was fabulous. I love Bridgerton but season 2 I was a little disappointed. The Duke was Anthony's best friend and I don't understand how the writers, producers or the powers that be would not include him in season two, making him a one hit wonder. The Duke could have brought so much to Anthony's journey of finding a wife. I hope they make season 3 and 4 better than season 2.

In the novel the Duke is only present when they play Pal-mall, they play it twice in the novel.

I don’t see where people say season two was better than one. Season one was much better and steamy, and the chemistry between the duke and duchess was everything.
Season 1 was absolutely better than season 2 and I have written and said a million times that the Duke must come back because I n season 1 he learned to deal with himself and his sad upbringing and found out thru Daphne that he w a s worthy of love and their baby was proof of that. Also in finding himself in season 1 he had several points of Advice for Anthony which Anthony could have used in season 2. His maturity from season1 could have only helped promote season 2 in a more progressive light. BRING HIM BACK! I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.!!!!!
