Man, gaming was so much better back than. These graphics were awesome, inspiring, charming... now its all about getting 1000+ USD GPU so u can enable RTX, than DLSS and than FG and than Reflex and than what ever else, to play something, which is in 90% totally forgetable and has no depth or emotions. I played since ZX Spectrum and Ive seen it all... gimme THIS any day over what we have now.
To those who understand what I try to convey here... lets be glad we lived thru the golden age of gaming (and other things) and maybe get a glimpse of what it used to be about, in videos like this...
What a awesome ride it was. Love u all!
Amen to that!
I totally agree. 90s games were the best!
Preach, preacher man.
That Project X music was stunning, can't get it out of my head again now, it was so good.
Not only from Turricans 1,2,3 from Pinball Dreams, Jim Power, Wolfchild, and many others-🕹🕹💎💎🎵🎵👍👍
Ahhh Shadow of the beast 3 music. I turn it from time to time.
Testdrive 2 was fun to play, but I wouldn't put it in the category of 'best graphics on the Amiga'. It was basically an Atari ST port which didn't make good use of the Amiga's custom chipset. The result was slow graphics with a limited color palette. When it comes to race games I would choose Lotus Turbo Challenge II as the game with best graphics. It ran with a smooth 50 fps frame rate and made good use of the Amiga's graphic potential.
In all fairness to the ST 3D games were better as being faster than the Amiga due to faster cpu clockspeed. So test drives were better on the ST as were most 3D games. Everything else the Amiga did better and some were so close between the two.
Traps 'n' Treasures - Premiere - Gods - Swiv - Battle Squadron - Elfmania - Final Fight - Soccer Kid - Brian the Lion - Wolfchild - Pinball Dreams - The Chaos Engine 1,2 - Cool Spot - Ruff 'n' Tumble
- Yo! Joe! - First Samurai - Shadow of the Beast 1,2,3 - Superfrog - and many other games 🕹🕹👍👍
Masz racje, 10/10
@@spitzspitzer6117 W końcu miałem 4 różne Amigi(1990-A500,92-A2000,93A1200hd i fast 4 mb. oraz CD32 z SX1 ze stacją dysków i klawiaturą)
Tu jest klimat tamtych czasów 🎵🎵🎹🎹👍👍- ua-cam.com/video/lkx7yTH6Q4U/v-deo.html
Yo! Joe! with super atmospheric music, level pyramid.
Turrican series. Both top SFX/music and GFX
I always remember going to buy Italia 90 for my spectrum 128k. On the back of the box it had amiga 600 screen shots. I got super excited and was SO disappointed when I loaded it up
Hmmm... Mortal Kombat 2 is an odd inclusion: graphics are not designed for the Amiga, and have been crushed down from hundreds of colours to just 32 - leaving them looking washed out, heavily-dithered and rather ugly. As far as fighting games go, the likes of Elfmania, Fightin' Spirit and Metro Siege are much prettier - being designed by superb artists specifically for the Amiga's palette.
Project X, Agony and Lionheart are good choices, though.
Note: if possible, I would recommend showing a selection of different scenes from each game - rather than just showing one section. It's in the variety of environments that the above games really shine.
What about shadow of the beast for OCS machines ?
Later... It is Part 1
amazing video.
I never found Agony to be looking as good as it was generally perceieved. Because of all mobs and layers lacking contrast, but just consisting of two or three shades of the same color. Even the loading screens , despite being kind of beautiful in their art style, technically wheren't very pleasant, because of a weird use of colors and dithering. Beast, Lionheart and Turrican show it can be done better.
All valid criticisms and I’m not keen on the Owls projectiles either but look at that water animation 😮 That’s on par with the Sega Megadrive Mickey Mouse Disney animation.
Love Turrican by the Way. I have C64, Amiga, Megadrive versions as well as Gunlord on PS4 :). They are all great games 🤘🏻
@@S1eeperServ1ce Rendering Ranger?
Sprites way too big, but graphics were great at the time.
@ Yes, it's crazy how for some years they all though 'the bigger the sprrtes, the better!' despite the proportions actually hindering gameplay xD
I always found it odd that they decided to use living creatures as enemies and then not animate most of them. Spaceships U can get away with that but not living creatures.
*В TestDrive на первой ПлейСтейшен играли, интересная серия игр...*
The Settlers..... art of optimisation..
Loved lionheart, but was too hard for me at the time, specially with using joysticks...best graphic i remember disposable heroes,gunship4000 intro first time i saw, lemmings tribe intro...first time i saw mortal kombat digital characters...some of the thing i remembered atm
Amiga was basically 1993 graphics and sound in 1986. Absolutely incredible
1985. And 1984 if you count the public demonstrations in 1984 -- one of which was in January of 1984 (meaning they had to have tested it in a lab in late 1983).
What about Desert
Strike and Flashback for example?
Anyone notice how Andreas NEVER bothered to credit Jarno Paananan for the music routine that he used in ProjectX without permission?
Turrican 1 was an awesome game indeed with some of the most epic music on any system, but it hardly pushed the limits of the AMIGA hardware in the graphics department, so it shouldn't be on this list really.
EXACTLY! even the more recent AGA Turrican II is not showing much. Great Gameplay, Music, Smoothness, but NOT the Best Amiga can do.
@@eijentwun5509 AGA Turrican II is basically a port from the 256 color PC DOS version with a few extra additions, which is quite an enhancement actually.
Yes an awesome game as was turrican II
😻👍
Great graphics yes. Great gameplay meh
Could we please watch a compilation of the greatest chip tunes over multiple platforms from 8 bit to (24 😉 bit) please ? 🙏
psygnosis the sony studio entertainment father
the master of 2d parallaxe scrolling.
shadow of the beast the master pièce of amiga game ❤ ❤❤
the GOAT game studio on 16bits computer
Always in my heart for the amazing game (since 30 years )
Is the video from a real amiga or an emulator? I am interested in the glitch of the craft sprite disappearing in the very beginning of the Project X game
cd32 (Linux powered) :)))
People today have a fixation on FPS over the actual game itself , i'll stick to the old stuff
Turrican2 better than 1st... First Samurai... Maybe Xenon 2? Agree with Project X
Yeah, most Amiga games were at best tech demos, with simplistic gameplay, though with nicely drawn graphics, or they were bad console conversions. Sure, there were some gems, I do not deny that! And I do admit that the sound of the Amiga was better for a long time, those AdLib and Sound Blaster sound effects and music were awful! :)
La plus grosse claque sur Amiga restera à jamais Shadow of the Beast.
Mortal Kombat II, Test Drive 2, and Turrican do NOT belong on this list...are you joking? You should have had: Ruff N Tumble, Elf Mania, Zool 2, Kid Chaos, Leander, T-Zero, Capital Punishment, Pinball Illusions, Slam Tilt, Banshee. (these last 5 are AGA)
If Hamulet is ever finished, I suspect it'll get the award for best OCS graphics: ua-cam.com/video/XDdMoglmUbs/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/JJczdYO8N1c/v-deo.html
Even though the video is 60fps, the footage itself is 30 or 25fps => very bad.
Also, you mostly show the beginning of the game, not the best parts.
And Test Drive 2 looks bad.
TD2 The Duel ws marvelous on the C64 though
Test drive 2, really ???!!!
Please reupload with 1080p50 instead of 60. Without smooth scrolling, the graphics are useless.
project x and mk2 good grpahic ? :D no. mainly psygonsis and bitmap brothers propuyctions
in 2025 the music is still cool but the graphics are stinging...
Living in Poland, after Atari65XE in 1990 I bought an Amiga 500 and then the graphics seemed a miracle and the sound seemed unreal and I enjoyed the games better then than my
PS5 today 🎨🎨🎵🎵🕹🕹
Amiga"s best graphics? 1st gen games? The Amiga can do better than this. This boomer has bad taste.
