Hey man!!! This is amazing, such a cool breakdown and really shows you its not as complicated as it sounds, you are a great musician. Dr Drums UK Thanks
I'm not really a piano player - more bassist, and never thought I'd be able to play this on keyboard - but I think I'm well on my way - many many thanks - great clear tutorial. One thing - might it be possible to put the chord names up for those of us who are lacking in the theory. Hope to see many more.
You mean that D# C# B A G bassline? I don't know. The most obvious phenomenon in those chords is the whole tone movement of the bass and the, maybe so called "pedal tone" B in the right hand, that is constant during the left hand changes. The 4 whole tone steps downward can only be realized by using one "out of key"- note at least which would be D#, if we're assuming the key is D major (not sure, i've forgotten what the key of the tune was). But i would be happy to know more songs, in case you can remember where you found similar harmonies.
Very cool breakdown, man! You present it very clearly and simply which allows anyone to pick it up. A couple of questions: Do you know what keyboard Jonah plays on their stuff AND 2) Where are you from? Again, nice work.
SYQmusic Even though I'm American, Stegeman is a very German name, too. Just ordered the import version of "Loopified" on Amazon. Can't wait-----thanks again.
voicing is a tad bit off - almost no octaves used in the recorded version (can verify this by watching the music video/studio recording and checking the two chords recorded in the first 15 seconds). Dropping the top octave in both hands sounds closer to me, although if you're performing this solo adding the octaves helps simulate the bass tone & first few partials. That being said - awesome walk through, and great ear sir. Really appreciate your assistance with the inner voices.
Big Thanks! Great tutor and share! My gear is Yamaha PSR-S 750 and i use Grand Piano combine with Fat Saw Hook. Anyone who has the same gear may share what voice preferably use 👍
I don't know what exactly what is going on in the rest of the song. I don't want to teach something wrong, which is done too often on UA-cam, so i just focused on what ithink is (kind of) right.
What is your native language! I don't speak English naturally, like you... I'm from Costa Rica! Hola! I need your help to make that sound! Please, do you can make a video? That sound is amazing! If you can't make the video, so show me with an answer... You're awesome!
Do you realize, that you can make money keep doing this on UA-cam? Can you please make one of this Nik Kershaw song? (I would pay you bitcoins to do so) Nik Kershaw - Life goes on (Albumtrack) Cheers Martin
Excellent! Best teacher ever! PLEASE do more of Dirty Loops songs!
That chord at 1:41 is used in their "the way I are" cover. It does it a semitone up and then a semitone after that - I call it the Dirty Loops chord!
Super interesting to see and hear the isolated piano part of this song.
Thank you very much for this 🙏
BRIIILANT way of making instructions for us self-tought keyboard players!
Please make a lot more of these!!! :-)
Great tutorials. Thanks for the effort.
Thanks man!! Gotta make the cover of it soon. ❤️
These chords are beautiful oh my god
Thanks man, beautiful work, genius the Dirty Loops keyboard player...

Great lesson- I had just sat down to learn it and came acroos your video. What patch are you using for the chord blocking?
beautifully done..thank you
0:09 is there a word for that chord movement? It's used so much in acid jazz and fusion, I was just wondering if it had an actual name, so cool!

Thanks! I Don't know what he plays. Anyway, I don't think that there was only one keyboard used for the final production. I'm from Germany, btw.

Greg Stegeman You won't regret it. It's a hell of an album!
It's a Korg M50.
@@gregstegeman7102 “Loopified” is such a mindblowingly good album..I’ve got the Japanese edition, and it’s on repeat on my car stereo ☺️👍
friend in your opinion how can I take music by ear just like the composer?
Hola, muy interesante que lo mostras y muy útil. Podrías explicarme cual es el concepto que utilizan a nivel de armonía?

thanks a lot, man, u really helped me!
Great !!!
great !
Jonah plays it differently!
Hi,
can you tell me what program you use to display the score and the keyboard in your film,
Thank you very much
The program that displays keys and notes is called "simple piano". For the split screen I used Sony Vegas.
Whats the Notes at this song
Hey man, what software are you using to show the music notes on the screen?
Thank you
Any way you could provide a chord chart?
i don't know how I would call some of the chords and voicings.
What's the patch on what synth that you making this sound with?
It's a piano layered with a supersaw. i didn't use a particuar preset there. The keyboard is a Motif XS 8.
SYQmusic I wondered what that was. Thanks.
Can you make a tutorial of the whole song?
I don't know what exactly what is going on in the rest of the song. I don't want to teach something wrong, which is done too often on UA-cam, so i just focused on what ithink is (kind of) right.
What patch/sound did you use for this?
It was not a preset. A bright piano layer and I guess I used PWM Strings and Fat Saw samples. That should work.
Thnaks for share...
What is your native language!
I don't speak English naturally, like you... I'm from Costa Rica! Hola!
I need your help to make that sound!
Please, do you can make a video? That sound is amazing!
If you can't make the video, so show me with an answer...
You're awesome!
That's pretty useful but there are some mistakes. Here Jonah shows it himself.
Do you realize, that you can make money keep doing this on UA-cam?
Can you please make one of this Nik Kershaw song?
