@SwallowsCourt - As someone aged 68 who has struggled with such issues most of my adult life to the point of a few tailed suicide attempts and ideation, I can relate. The "final thought" about comparison hits home for I've never had a long term girlfriend, wife or kids or middle or muddle class life due such a road -- and so it's so easy to make one less-than. Hell, I even did while watching the show. As someone once put it, every life is a hero/ine's journey in its own way, however rough or different the journey. Last, as others have mentioned here, it's nice to see someone who proves the seeming rarity that one can be funny and decent at the same time. No need for cruelty or ridicule or machine-gun delivery of 4-letter words every few minutes (for occasional emphasis or accent works just fine). Perhaps this preference is tied to a over-sensitivity of my journey, but one doesn't have to have mental health issues to appreciate phunny and decency. :)
I am myself going through some hard times and this show has made be laugh out loud and also cry. Jason Manford let your brother know what you do is real and helps people. Thanks x
Have never really liked Manford. Watched this because my TV wasn't working Loved every moment of it. Incredible comic insight. In tears at at last 2 mins ish. "Just because you're struggling, you're not failing". Shall carry this phrase to my grave passing it on each day. MR Manford, you are more than just a comic entertainer. You changed my life today (yeah I'm one of those failing 50 something separated males)
Thank you for posting this on here. My lovely mum had rapid onset dementia towards the end of this year and it feels like we've lost her in a sense within the space of a couple of months, and your last little section of this show really hit home. At the same time it's given me a really good laugh, so thanks for being a ray of sunshine during a really hard time.💜
Sorry to intrude, but your comment hit home. I am only 55 but I fear that my mind is slipping away. There is a family history and ironically I am still sharp enough to know that something is *really* wrong. Thank you, all of you, who have to deal with the other side of this.
@@theITGuy-no3nt My advice is to talk to your doctor and find out for sure what's going on. There are medications that can help slow the progression of memory loss in some cases. Good luck to you.
@the I.T. Guy Being tired, worry and too many things going on can cause brain fog, forgetfulness, the more you worry the worse you feel. Lots of conditions can cause these symptoms, write down all the things you feel are different, then speak to your GP honestly. You may be having 8 hrs sleep a night but if that sleep is not nourishing you it can cause mind and speech problems.
@@jasonstueber567 lol, didn't know you try to be a comedian yourself. Not half as good as Jason Manford, so don't have your hopes up for selling tickets.
It's great to see Manford in a full length special! So relatable, even across the pond here in Canada. For example, we've literally had the whole "Disney has a weird fixation with killing parents." convo at my house 😂 and we've had the whole "Growing up poor vs. our privileged kids." convo with our friends!🤣 AND the Grandparents bit? I DIED!!!!!!!💀I'M WRITING THIS COMMENT FROM BEYOND!👻
A couple of weeks ago I got to see Jimmy Carr live in Sofia and I was absolutely destroyed from laughing, my face was stuck in a painful laugh position for the rest of the evening, my ribs were hurting for 3 days. I just watched your show here, Jason, and I got almost an hour of the best laughter I've had and even though it is a completely different experience, I loved it the same because I could relate to 70-80% of the things you talk about and the laughter I got from you is priceless! Thank you ! :) I hope to see you live some day too !
Was thinking of going to see Jimmy in Sofia, but it's a long drive there! Is it common to have English and American comedians come to Sofia? Jimmy is the only one I have known of.
Wow, huge gratitude to you Jason for bringing up depression. It’s a topic we all must talk about to each other to make sure our brothers and sisters are doing ok and if they need our help and support. 🙏🏻
From the states ,and love comedy from over the pond . This was excellent laughed more than I have in a long time ! Thank you for putting this on UA-cam so we can see too 😊😅👍🏻
I've lost five great friends over the last ten years to suicide. Men are being told every day that they're villains. That we're responsible for all that ills the planet, the world & society. Well we're not. I for one am sick fed up of hearing that shit. Thank you for the laughs, the memories & the advice.
Loved the show. I Listen to a lot of stand up as I work and it gets me through the day (I’m self employed and work alone) The last piece was very unexpected and surprisingly to me, very much needed today. The universe turns up just when you need it sometimes. Thank you.
Thank you for everything Jason Manford! I'm so glad I found your stand up as I'd exhausted my supply of decent comedians. I'm extremely particular about who I watch with stand up as there's nothing worse than sitting down to watch some "comedy" and not even breaking into a smile. With my physical disability and mental disorders, I find it hard to smile at times, let alone laugh so, the fact I actually laugh out loud at your comedy really says something. Thank you once again mate! Now to save up for the rest of your DVDs.
Omg, I'm not gonna lie I was listening to this while scrolling for other stand ups I haven't seen, and when I heard him talking about losing weight, then heard him say, "I ran upstairs naked one day and got a round of applause,....I was alone.." It took a few seconds to register whilest scrolling, but as soon as it did I instantaneously laughed out loud so violently that even now while typing this I think I'm still choking on my chips and queso!!!!! That shit caught me more than off guard... 🤣🤣🤣 I'm through scrolling, I'm watching all of this even if he mimes out the rest of thw show cause honestly, I don't know if I have ever laughed that loud ever...lol.
Really amazing, a lovely way to clear out conflicting thoughts in your head. Really loved the end, rarely does someone include such wonderful ideas in such a great way. Thanks 😊😊😊
I loooove Jason Manford! Always go to see him when he comes to Dubai. He's truly one of our best. Even those who claim not to like him, or claim he's not funny, as soon as you show them a clip of him, they're laughing. And that's because he's a great comedian, and person!
