FYI it is only in 1964 that Yaser Arafat started to call the Arabs living there Palestinians. They are Arabs who came from the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century with the spread of islam. By that time Jerusalem had stood there for 1700 years.

I am an American Christian and had never been involved in the history of Palestine until I could not find it on a map. This is an incredibly interesting video and I thank those who produced it.

You will find it difficult to find much mention of native Americans either. That's because other people of another community took their land and disposed the native Americans. The Palestinian people have exited for thousands of years, but until 1917 the whole of Palestine was ruled by the Ottoman Empire. That doesn't mean that they didn't exist, what existed was three communities, Jews, Muslims and Christians that lived in relative harmony until the chaos of the Holocaust. The Jews from Europe carried with them a lot of trauma and emotional baggage.

As a Native American, I can say we did not write history books so we would not have much mention. Palestine is a location but not a people. Multiple people got along until the area was divided with the discovery of gas. Then people came from all over the Middle East to work there. Issues arose when the region became more hostile with extreme beliefs from countries in the area who wanted the gas rich land. Before that Jews, Christians, Muslims, etc lived there and got along pretty well. Blessings to you.
After the Jewish people began their return in 1882, the Arabs also started coming. For two reasons: 1) To enjoy a higher standard of living, and 2) The fight the Jews, who made that std of living possible.

It s a tricky thing arguing that those who were there first get the land in perpetuity, even if displaced for centuries. The reality is Israelis have the land by right of conquest. Just as the US has Texas, and not the Apache,Comanche or Kiowa peoples. Not everyone who thinks they are right ends up with the land they feel they they deserve. Go ask the Armenians.
