This video just played on CMT, and I don’t know if anyone will understand how much that means to me. I’m from a small town and I’m very country, and sometimes it feels hard to be country and gay at the same time, almost as if there’s two different parts of me. It’s been hard to bridge that gap in me, and seeing a lesbian couple on CMT really just made my whole day. ❤️

I came out 20yrs ago as a lesbian I was disowned by a lot of people and found myself being two different people.I find myself still afraid sometimes to show my true self . I am watching Brandi Carlile for the first time this Sunday morning on Austin City Limits. I am truly not familiar with her music. As a music aficionado and former radio disc jockey, I would like to make a comment. This woman is a total powerhouse of a musician. She's a true musician in the sense of the craft as she writes songs, beautiful songs indeed. She's Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills, Judy Collins, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Don McLean style of songwriter I called them intellectual songwriters. She is really exceptional. Thank you for reading.

It's hard to express just how brilliant this is...i cried ,i held my breathe, i smiled because its so beautiful and raw and god damn it relateable...i just married my gf of almost 23 years after same sex laws finally changed here in Australia...its been a hard road sometimes, but love is worth fighting for and this is a spectacular reminder of our love ...Elizabeth Moss , her eyes speak a thousand heart wrenching words and its was a masterpiece by all involved...congratulations and i cant wait for the Grammys where you finally get the recognition you have deserved for so so long x

I honestly rarely like watching music videos because I sometimes find it ruins the song for me. This video is a PIECE OF ART! The synchronization of the story and the music is stunning and the acting matches every nuance of emotion. Just gorgeous. This song is one of my favourite songs of all time. Where to start.... the song... the video.... ugh, it's so pure and honest. When people say "poetry in motion", that is this video. People sing about relationships in abundance, but few capture the essence and feelings quite like this song. And the way the actresses portrayed it couldn't have been done better. Just perfection. I couldn't stop the tears.
I heard this song for the first time this past weekend when Brandi played it at Bonnaroo. I was only tangentially familiar with Brandi and her music but her set completely blew me away and almost stole the weekend. This song in particular stopped me in my tracks and brought me to open tears in the beautiful Tennessee sunshine.

So much greatness here. The song is one of Brandi's best. She has a great way of storytelling with so much power, emotion, and love. Love and relationships are sometimes destroyed over short term emotions and it is important to reflect and understand how important they are before we walk away and don't return over pride. Nice to see normal people portrayed in the video over some supermodel couple. Thank you, Brandi, for the great singing and songwriting for more than 10 years.
This song speaks to me. I am currently in the final stage of divorcing my severely alcoholic husband. I love him so deeply, but I know he is never going to be able to reciprocate it as long as he carries this disease. I've done everything I could possibly think of to keep him afloat and am leaving only because I was drowning right with him. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, and I feel like I'll always belong to him. I'm still rooting for him.

It's amazing that Brandi has a very long career and I didn't know about her because the music industry just wants to give us pop artists without talent. I knew about her because at the end of a movie (The Sweet Life) a song from her is played and I loved it so much that I looked for it on Shazam. Since then I keep listening to her wonderful music. Super singer and songwriter; better human being. I love her with all my being. I hope to see her perform live someday.

I always loved this song, but never thought thay one day i would relate to it. My partner of 10 years showed me Brandi, she is her favorite artist and we would listen to her all the time. My partner has decided she wants to separate for now, and my heart is broken into a million pieces. Every good memory I have, has her in it. And yes we fought at times, but so does every couple, and our bad times never outweighed the good. I pray that this space apart gives her clarity and she realizes she doesn't want to live life without me beside her either.
