Canning Ground Beef | Extended Pantry

- I'm restocking the extended pantry today. I'm dry canning ground beef, however you can can any ground meat you prefer with this method. I prefer the texture and taste of ground meats canned this way over the traditional method of canning ground meats.

😁
That's the way I can my ground beef also. Thanks for sharing.
Hi friend!
I AM.HERE TO WATCH
.SUPER VIDEO..You ate lucky to be in Taxes ...wonderful performed
So glad I found you! You’re videos are the best I’ve found! So informative for a beginner. Thankyou!
First time to see ground beef canned Thank You for sharing your knowledge and skills ❤️
This is so informative! Thank you. I've always been hesitant about canning since my grandmother passed. It's almost a lost art, and I learned to hard way. Caught a nasty bout of salmonella after eating canned goods from a work friend.
Oh yikes! It really is a lost art. Please don't be hesitant
We can all kinds of meet good job great video
THANK YOU!
Excellent video! ❤xo
Since you packed the meat so tightly, what do you use it for? Does it look like freshly cooked ground beef when you use it?
Btw... I got that tool at the dollar tree 👍🏼
Came to you from TikTok. Beautiful video! I have a question, if you don’t mind. I have a glass top Whirlpool stove, but a bit different than yours. Have you ever had an issue with pressure canning on your glass top stove? I can’t find model/serial numbers because I bought it used. I’ve read where some older glass tops aren’t rated for pressure canners due to heat disbursement??
Just subbed and I too want a Presto! ❤️ Thank you!
I have not had any issues. I use a Presto 23 which can be used on a glass top stove. Just make sure you don't slide your canner across the stove.
How much water did you start with before you added the jars in?
I was wondering if when cooking it if you could add onions & worcestershire
sauce or if that'd mess up the canning process?
Curious the cook times for pints and quarts….?…..?
Did I miss how long you processed the meat for?
Did you salt the meat in the pan or just in the jar? Thanks for your help.
Just salt in the jar.
Are the lids wet when u put them on?
Yes a little because you heat them up in very hot water first.
Does it need to be done in a pressure canner? Just asking cuz if it does I’ll need to get one since I only have a basic canning pot
Yes, it will need to be pressure canned.
My question too. Thanks for asking and thank you for answering. I'm by Corpus Christi and Port A btw 😉
What if we do not have a pressure pot
You'll need to get a pressure canner for meats.
You seem like a very personable and nice person, but your dry canning videos are scary. The reason you add water or broth to your vegetables or meat when you are canning is because the water helps conduct heat to ensure that the food in the jars is heated through completely to a temperature that will kill the bacteria that causes food poisoning in the time that the food is heated during processing. When you pack the food in and leave out the water or broth, you are gambling and playing Russian Roulette with your food, and the consequences could be just as deadly or debilitating as playing it with a loaded gun. I appreciate that you are up front with your viewers about the fact that dry canning isn't an "approved" or lab-tested method. The rest of your canning guidance seems good!
