We lived there for 10 years and sold our house last July. Insurance and taxes are ridiculous, but what really did it was the Fascist Governor and the MAGA crazies. We did not feel safe. Now we're in a blue state where you CAN say gay and you CAN talk about Climate Change.

I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale when it was a nice place to live until the snowbirds and wierd'os decided to land and stay. Somebody forgot to put out the No Vacancy sign and started building on every square inch of land which destroyed the groves and natural beauty of the area. They are going to keep pouring concrete until the core structure of the land base cracks and falls into the ocean. The whole place is as fake as the people who moved there bringing their sick/woke agenda with them. I hope nature reclaims every bit of it and leaves them struggling to find a dry place to stand. They have built a nightmare so there is no reason to complain, get out. I hope they all go broke.

I retired from up North and moved down to Florida in 2010 it was so much cheaper than up north the housing was cheap the taxes were cheap the insurance was cheap the food was cheap the drinks at a bar were cheap everything was cheap and then 2020 happened with the pandemic and everything about Florida that made it so great for a retiree like me completely changed everyone from all over the country came all at once trying to escape their Communist States and flooded Florida and start it over paying for properties. It was complete Insanity and here we are 36 to 48 months later Florida has become one of the most expensive states to live in how did that happen so quickly? One pandemic and a few back-to-back storms storms and everything that was appealing about Florida has completely reversed . My small little Beach town has become overcrowded and overpriced in such a short amount of time. Its unreal.

Native Floridian and I hate it and trying to get out of here. DeSantis has destroyed the beauty of Florida due to his radical and racist driven motives. The cost of living is unbearable. If you’re conservative and have money, Florida is definitely ideal for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere.

Outdoor living can't compare to California, especially Southern California. Our weather is mierda in South Florida compared to theirs. 9 months out of the year is muggy, buggy and hot here.

You're right, association fees increased by $500 per month on one of our investment condos for an entire year in order to bring it up to code. This is definitely going to shake up the condo market.

Now at 63 in a few days being born and raised in Florida. I have watched the Carpetbagging, scallywagging Realtors completely destroy this once great State. These people would cut their own Mothers and children throat for dime. It's beyond reason what these people have done in destroying this State. They have completely over crowded and over ran it with mostly the masses from the Northern states. I seen them turn farm lands into housing and Apartment complexes. I watched them mow down vast forests and woodlands to pack them with houses inches apart. They have lined every Beach, River, Lake and water way with houses and Condos inches apart. I could drive down A1A and see the Ocean and water front for miles, now the only thing to see is the backside of houses and Condos inches apart. Now that they have destroyed all the Beach fronts the people living in the houses think the Beach belongs to them now and people have to pay to take their family to the beach and then must leave or not park in front of the jackasses houses from the North. It's destroyed far beyond ever seeing it being a loving place to live now never to return because of these Carpetbagging Realtors and developers.

And the bugs have gone too thanks to all the chemtrails lol..I love Fl so goodbye yall we wont miss you!

The thunder storms are most every day from May 1st to November 1st. Florida is always in the top 3 of thunderstorms. Yes, they last about 2 hours, usually from 3-8 pm in that timeframe. They begin to form around noon and you know if it's going to be a big one or the usual around then. You have to be ready to go inside. There are days where there is just large cumulo-nimbus build-up but the rain doesn't come and sometimes, there is no rain at all with cloudy sunshine ... about 1/3rd of the time between May and November. These storms can be depressing and scary and dangerous. Grew up there, and then left to Arizona, where there are virtually no thunderstorms. The air conditioning is another huge expense living in Florida.
