It all looks great. I bet the goats got to the other side of the fence and were disappointed because they were so sure that the grass on the other side of the fence was so much better.
I would have hung the gate from the other side and we quit using screw in hanger for gates years ago and cut them off and weld a pc of all thread on so you can put a washer and nut on both sides just what we do 👍
Your drone shots really showed the scope of your awesome fencing project. What a good feeling that must bring you. And you and Rebekah still have all your fingers intact! Bravo!
Thank you Lord for This big blessing that you have giving Evan and Rebecca. Ok now Rebecca you can get on the internet and find some cows and anything else you want. I just can’t wait to see you both so happy.God is so good. You guys deserve it all.
I found that the gate pins you used don't last very long. For me, i use the threaded pins with nuts and washers for the top and bottom hinges. Over time the gate posts will waller out and you'll have to replace them. Over all you have a stout fence that should last for years to come.
My gosh when you look down and see all fence posts up gates in and ready for cows. You both have to be so pleased with all your work you’ve done. Every thing look so tidy and clean and well set up. Awesome well done Rebecca and Even. You amaze me how you decide to make something and with out working out a plan it’s made fits perfect (chicken coup on the wall ) the doors you’ve made it’s all so great. I cant wait to see what your going to surprise us with in 2021. So keep up with the videos I watch all I can and I see there’s still more for me to see so I’m not going to run out yet. You both are awesome.
That looks so nice! I liked that gate latch, I am actually going to show my oldest sister that one, she has a bunch of horses and she hates her gate system because it needs 2 hands to open , thanks for showing us this and it was very rewarding to watch this get done :)
Congratulations on finishing such a huge task for two people. You are a good team. You applied yourselves to getting the job done. Celebrate and relax. Well, as much as one can relax on a farm/homestead. Now you can hire out as a fencing contractor.:) Be blessed.
Another option that you might want to consider if you hang another long gate is use a longer post to run a guideline from the hinge side down to the latch side of the gate
The gate and latches turned out great. The drone footage show what a beautiful homestead you have. I am looking forward to seeing the cows you get. Y'all have a Blessed day.
I really enjoy your channel guys relaxing no drama and educational on occasion as well. Keep up the good work on your farm and quality of your videos . I'm glad I stumbled onto your channel about 6 months ago gave it a watch 5 or 6 times decided I have to watch now I'm a fan 😂
Fencing looks absolutely excellent - it should be fine for many years to come. Before you commit yourselves to purchasing a water trough consider carefully where you want to position it so that it can perhaps supply water for two paddocks at once by placing it in a fence line. You will also find that animals will stand around it or be walking to it frequently that they will create a muddy area around it which then holds rainfall which creates even more mud! A circular trough (or even a semi circular access point) allows more animals to drink at once. An important issue to also consider will perhaps be, in the future what animals will want to drink from it (think goats, sheep, cattle, horses and possibly poultry!) It ideally needs to be able to be drained by removing a bung and I suggest you look at a bottom fill design with a float operated valve. If you intend grazing animals in really cold weather then smashing the ice at least once is a daily chore. For these reasons I highly recommend an earth-mover tyre type part buried on a mound of soil and with a small size rock cover over the soil, don't forget an easy access gate valve to cut off the water supply. There are good plastic troughs but avoid galvanised troughs as they corrode too quickly. All farm livestock waste free access hay badly as you already know! So choose a design that has a trough arrangement underneath the rack that makes them work for it and preferably has some sort of simple roof to keep it dry in wet weather. Just like the water trough livestock will tend to churn up the soil around it and make a mess and destroy the pasture. For the few animals you are talking about personally I simply would not bother with a rack but take a couple of slices per beast per day and put it down in fresh location each day. That way you can easily adjust how much you give them each day according to how well they clear up the hay fed the previous day and of course avoid pasture damage. If you feel that you must use a feeder the pick the driest soil site along the fence line alongside the drive from the house to the barn - it could be filled over the fence and is likely to drain most easily from rainfall.
Another great video Evan! I can't wait to see it this spring, as everything greens back up! Ya'll are making a tone of lmprovements that will be paying off!
You guys are awesome. I have watched every video of the pasture fence construction. I feel a little sad it’s all done as I enjoyed watching you guys work on it. God bless. And keep safe.
Looks well laid out...organized and easily scanned for problems...maybe a camera or two for a safety /predator alert...long live the pasture....and yer cows need a shed/barn for weather relief , too...
Fantastic job Evan and Rebecca, never seen a better fence building crew than the two of you 👍👍 ! Sure glad to see your plan working so well. Thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to seeing what’s next. Fred. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻
Hi, that barn with the corrugated metal on the sides I would get some aluminum paint or what ever colour you wish and give that metal a coat of paint, It will add so much to that old barn. The roof is fine and I actually like that brown. Food for thought. Like you do not have enough to do. Such is the life of a farmer. Thanks for the videos, I always find time to watch.
Hi. I'm from the UK, and I'm fascinated by how you run your rural lives over there. You certainly work hard but, on such beautiful land, I'm sure the benefits are worth it.
Love seeing drone footage of the area, it looks fantastic and as usual you guys do such a great job with your projects and with footage that you make for us to see, thanks!
I love it. You look rightfully proud of your hard work. I need to look back at the beginning of your fencing project to understand what you did and how you looked at your property and mapped out your fence plan. You didn't get perfect post spacing by accident!
I just got the latch today ,now that i see you've cut into the post that's what I'm gonna do ,and when my wife yells you cant do that ,Im gonna show her your video ,thank you.
Enjoyed the video Evan awesome video the gate looks really good with the fence the weather people as we might get some snow here I live in Kentucky you going to get you some many moms cows to keep and raise cows looking forward to the next one I will talk to you then 😎👋
You did it and a it is awesome. I knew it was going to be a job well done and it will be useful for years to come. I know the biggest job is done. Like I said your helper is a pioneer woman indeed. Luv you guys. Be safe and take care. Keep the videos coming.
Glad to see all your hard work is paying off. You and Rebecca should be so proud of what you have achieved on the homestead. I throughly enjoy watching your videos, I have learnt so much from all your projects. Well done, take care both. Love Claire
You've done a fantastic job with the fencing. Well done to you both. I look forward to seeing all your animals roaming in the fields, especially the cows.
Evan & Rebecca. I’ve been watching your channel for quite some time and I have really enjoyed all the work you two are doing. Loved the barn cleanup and new setup and really loved the fence work you two did.
actually the distance between the gate posts was PERFECT, the latch is better installed on a flat surface. Great work!
Was about to add the same - a little finessing goes a long way!
Absolutely agree
With all the post you put in and you only missed it by 1/2 inch I’d say that’s pretty darn awesome
I’d rather be chipping a piece out of the post than having to bring the post closer to the gate 😅
Evan has all kinds of skills, which I guess, is needed to be a farmer. Much respect.
It all looks great. I bet the goats got to the other side of the fence and were disappointed because they were so sure that the grass on the other side of the fence was so much better.
Time to paint the barn...Fence looks good.
Looking forward to that, and doing something with the back , which is currently not in use.
Evan, thank you, you are my calming meditation in a world gone a bit mad (and I don't even live in the USA, lol!)
I would have hung the gate from the other side and we quit using screw in hanger for gates years ago and cut them off and weld a pc of all thread on so you can put a washer and nut on both sides just what we do 👍
I know it feels good having the pasture finished. Except for a couple gates. That was quite the task. Well done.
Love drone footage gives a better idea of layout. Really cool
Your drone shots really showed the scope of your awesome fencing project. What a good feeling that must bring you. And you and Rebekah still have all your fingers intact! Bravo!
It's coming along nicely.
Really came out great buddy. Nothing like sitting back at the end and appreciating all the work you’ve put in. Enjoy!
Thank you Lord for This big blessing that you have giving Evan and Rebecca. Ok now Rebecca you can get on the internet and find some cows and anything else you want. I just can’t wait to see you both so happy.God is so good. You guys deserve it all.
👏👏👏 Good evening.
The pasture is big! The goats and chickens should enjoy it. Lots of work but it sure looks worth it. 👍🙏☝️ Be well and God bless you.
I found that the gate pins you used don't last very long. For me, i use the threaded pins with nuts and washers for the top and bottom hinges. Over time the gate posts will waller out and you'll have to replace them. Over all you have a stout fence that should last for years to come.
