I think I’d buy a new hood before I went though all that. 😂
For you mustang guys to solve the problem with the ticking noise coming from the Coyote motors, You need to add an additional 1/2 quart more of motor oil and add "Liqui Moly Cera tec friction modifier"..
My cobra jet don't want none unless you got buns hun...
Cobra...Anaconda...whatever
For anyone not wanting to drop the subframe to get to the engine mounts, you can just take the nuts off the top of the mounts, jack the motor up by the bell housing enough to get the motor brackets clear, and then remove them that way.
When I installed my CJ intake I didn't have any buns, I used weenies 😂 get that visual right before bed
Street Slayers 😂😂😂😂 if we had some bryan would of definitely argued that those would act more like putty!
Eith the steeda k member you can lower the motor 1/4 inch. Giving even more clearance
Perfect excuse to get a cobra r hood!! 😉 great video 🙏🏻
Dude the cobra r hood is sick looking
You turned around the entire fuel rail and didn't explain anything. This why I don't trust jump cuts!
Looks great . More power ? Not enough to feel the difference . 18 & 19 manifolds are great.
Lot of work for marginal power increase . Will lose some low end.
richard tortorici we will have Dyno video up soon, weather was kinda crappy so we couldn’t get on it at all.
I heard you don’t even need the motor mounts you can just take off the black sheet from under your hood & do a little shaving to the hood & it’ll fit
Wow! That’s a lot of work for a manifold. Good job though.
Yea I know if we had known we would have don’t the mounts when we did the headers. Wait Toft the dyno video its coming next!
Day late and a dollar short but the the drop mount brackets are way better. I used the mounts first myself but the vibration from them is crazy. With the brackets you sue stock mount with them so the feel doesn’t change
What brand did you use? if you don't mind me asking..
My 18 Cobra jet swap video is almost a year old and I was not the 1st
We said 1 of not the first and its install on a mustang not an F150
Well at least you didn't use donuts, then your dad would of been mad...hahahahaha!
Did the JLT air box fit in the end without modification?
But all of tests on different intakes where on g2 cars. Nobody really has shown if the cobra jet benefits the g3
coyote Kelly I’ll give you a hint...it does 😉
Is it worth the money the cj for the gains
I'm glad gays are into cars too.
This whole video is exactly why I would go with a gt350 intake..
Having your engine sit lower is better tho
You should have 18 Manifold swapped your 18, you would pick up even more power lol. I'm interested to see what it does with the monoblade.
You sound dumb
@@KINGKJ2REAL
The 18 manifold makes almost as much peak hp as the cobra jet and a bit more mid-range which is where street cars spend nearly all their time. The cobra jet is Ford Performance RACING manifold intended for 4500 to 8000rpm+ on modified engines (cams and/or boost or compression, ect). This was a ALOT of money and work for trading a good amount of mid-range for a little peak hp. A different hood probably would have solved this if one insists on the Cobra Jet manifold.
@@177SCmaro the cobra jet is the best NA manifold made by ford .. it’s no discussion. Every all motor car that holds a record runs the cobra jet … i had two of them
@@KINGKJ2REAL
Every record RACECAR you mean. The cobra jet is not the best intake, there is no "best", there is only a list of tradeoffs. Again, the stock (or ported) 18 manifold has the best tradeoffs for a street car where the cobra jet might be better for all our racing. The idea that one manifold is "the best" period is wrong.
Go watch some of the videos were they actully dyno these manifolds for something a little more concrete then hearsay.
@@177SCmaro The

Is
The best manifold made by ford for NA cars that do drag racing.. street racing , roll racing… which is 99 percent of what Mustang owners do.
“I’m throwing money at the problem fix it” the wise words of that1320chick everyone just make sure to have a big enough wallet next time instead of throwing 1 dollar bills expecting that to fix anything 😂
I think Bryan should have licked the bread crumbs off !!!😂😂😂 also tubular k-member should have been done at this time too. Keep up the good work you two 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊🏼👊🏼
Ported 18 mani is the best
Justin Hicks not from Lethals side by side comparison videos
Not is not, PBH performance and Alejandro flores from Lund Racing made a video about it. Cobra Jet is superior.
Back in the day when your High Profile Air filter and intake held in with wing nut, and you just didnt tighten it down far enough...got a nice lil (:) in hood
So I seen that you guys out the fuel rail the opposite way
Why you starting it with the air filter off ? Or am I seeing things
Did they use a convertor box for the throttle body? I heard it was needed for 18+ mustangs with a CJ manifold
Randy Pech not with the VMP Throttle body. As we said in the video, VMP designed it to use OEM 18 electronics so it’s plug and play, no converter box needed
your thumbnail got me to click. im like why the hell is there hot dog bun on that engine?!?!
Great video I love it the body style is mean looking and just the sound it gives off is amazing
What cone filter did you use exactly if you have a link it would
Be perfect
The cobra jet intake doesn't flow much better than the 18 intake. Wish I had a girl who was into cars... Mines boring as fuck Lol.
lucian kristov that’s just what those who sell ported 18 manifolds want you to think 😉
Bring her over I’ll teach her!
No quit in the 1320 crew. That's why you don't drink til your done. To easy to quit.. Great job gang..1st cobra jet I've seen done on a 18
thereissomecoolstuff lol thanks! Wish I was in the crew!
Bread test haha and cobra jet looks so good ahhh
It was Bryan’s idea and I thought he was crazy. Then I saw it and I was dying. It worked sooo well!!
It sure did haha
I might not have shut the hood so hard on a test fit but it worked out
Why add cobra jet if u don’t have cams
eric watkins no one makes cams for an 18 yet
IKR so the cobra jet is a waste the car makes peak horse power at 8000 rpm and he going to lose bottom end torque
eric watkins just wait until you see the dyno video
I like track ET dyno just a tuning machine
eric watkins you should check out the Steeda car that’s running 10.25 cobra jet set up.
How did you get around the fuel rails I noticed they are backwards
She said they mocked it up that war because they didn’t think the rails would fit under the front of the Cj. They clearly don’t work backwards so they installed them correctly after. Since this we have leaned that on many setups the little tab between the rail that holds them on top of eachother has to be cut often, where you can move the rails next to eachother to clear, just under the outlet of the CJ. However, not all are that way.
4:02 was that a massive burp ?
Is that an 11-14 Throttle body?
Do you need the motor mounts for the install?
What header did u use I have a 18 and I install header and after I install motor mounts and I didn’t have any problems taking them off with the header install
cesar Rodriguez they were the pypes. We couldn’t get any sort of socket build up on the rear passenger bolt
I have kooks long tubes and it was easy to remove
Great video guys. Finally a CJ install video.
Although this is for an 18 Mustang, I have a 2017 Mustang does anyone know if a cervini cowl scoop would be enough clearance for a CJ intake?
David Skocibusic what size Cowl is it?
@@That1320Chick from memory, I think it's a 4 inch scoop. Watching your video which I enjoyed greatly, I was thinking a cervini bonnet with the reverse cowl scoop might clear it without lowering the engine
David, let’s think for a second. The engine mounts they used dropped it 1/2 an inch. Why tf would a 4” cowl hood not clear? I know it’s been a couple of years, but I’m gonna assume people like you never find the answers. Since this video we’ve found the stock hood will clear, with a little trimming, so if you’re poor you can go that route too.
What motor mounts did you go with?
We mentioned it in the video but they're the UPR Adjustable.
I honestly have been contemplating on doing a cobra jet on my 18. Mainly because it opens up the door for mono blades etc. I just haven't seen anywhere really showing that it is worth it. I had a cobra jet on my old car and I loved it. Im torn between porting my stock intake or trying to go this route.
coyote Kelly who are you planning to have tune it? If I were you I’d wait until we can get our next video out before you buy an analog signal TB.....
If I did go this route I would either go with Lund or PBD. See I was under the impression that it wouldn't fit even with the motor mounts. I work at a fabrication shop and I was thinking of cutting an indention in my hood and my friend who works at a glass shop could make a glass that would would allow you to see it through the hood. Don't laugh but I was not gonna buy a new hood.
How much was the analog converter? I think the 18s have different potentiometers for the throttle position. I know they have two. One for positive voltage and one for negative voltage to get dual inputs to the ECM based off a 5v reference if I'm correct.
coyote Kelly the manifold will fit with adjustable mounts to drop the engine now. Honestly just get the VMP TB specific for 18’s. It takes the hassle of the converter out of it. We explain it a little more in the next video but even ID recommends this now
Well y'all have just intrigued me lol. This is the kind of content I want to see on UA-cam. When is the video coming out?
How about aftermarket cowl hood instead ?
Bigdaddytrucker 1000 hood < 150$ motor mounts

Love those rims! What are they?
Andrew Higginson they’re called SevenK’s! They’re gorgeous ❤️ I stole them for gatlinburg last year 😂
Why did yall install the fuel rails backwards on the manifold?
Originally when we were mocking it up outside the car we didn't think that we'd have enough room underneath the front inlet of the manifold to clear the fuel rail. As we were installing it, we quickly realized that it wouldn't fit that way so we pulled it off, turned it around, and put it together the right way. the fuel rails are very close to the bottom of the manifold and don't seem like they'll fit unless you give them a little bend out of the way. Some people cut the tab that ties the upper and lower lines together, just make sure you don't cut the crossover on accident!
@@That1320Chick awesome! So howd you get the rails to function backwards? Obviously the injectors will fire themselves in correct order but as far as the fuel line coming from the fire wall and the direct injection pump line on the passenger side, you guys didnt have any issue with functionality? How did you connect the black sensor connection that is now on the passenger side?
Balls Johnson sorry made I made it too confusing. We put it back the normal way with the crossover in the front.
@@That1320Chick with cutting and bending the rail down just a tad? And what did you do with the imrc solinoid? Sorry for all the questions but I do appreciate the response. How did you guys depressurize the fuel rail system? My instructions tell me to disconnect the fuel pump driver module and start the car and let it run til it does then disconnect the fuel rail system
@@ballsjohnson029 We didn't cut & bend but I have heard of people that do. We reused the two plastic heater core line brackets and that allowed us to use the OEM EVAP solenoid. You can see it at 14:39 in the video on the right side of the manifold. IMRC you just leave the plugs disconnected in the back and tape off the connectors. Yupp, spot on for depressurizing!
What did you do with the imrc?
Santos Alvarado nothing! It gets shut off in the tune
Oh okay thanks
What motor mounts did you guys use?
Ramiro Torres UPR Adjustable!
Thank you much appreciated!
Do you guys have a link where you bought them? I can’t seem to find them.
Ramiro Torres m.uprproducts.com/mustang-urethane-motor-mount-kit-pro-series-15.html
Should’ve just bought a new hood and called it a day.
C M $50 vs $1000 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
That1320Chick agreed but way less NVH car will drive closer to stock feel and much better clearance for the hood and below the car for the LTH. But I don’t know. That’s personally just my opinion not gospel.
That1320Chick regardless. Good video. Only video to show still the walk through on install 2 years later on an 18+.
C M I appreciate your comment! We went this route mostly because Ken the owner didn’t really love any of the styles of the new hoods on top of the expense of them. This was a fun learning experience. If I had known no one would really show this I would have done more videos on it.
C M ken is very very pick about the car drives so if it was bad NVH I’d have an ear full about it. So it can’t be to bad, I drive the car here and there and it feels stock. It’s all what someone wants to deal with. I didn’t put a brace in because I was worried about NVH and broke my diff 🤷🏻♀️ now I have in and it’s fine and I feel stupid for not doing it.
Just get a super charger :)
Steven Neidlein sure you have 6500 during a now bad economy 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ you can pay pal me if you do 😂😂😂
Why not both?
@@DEADPOOL280 can't have both because cj cobra jet and a supercharger are both manifolds now you could use a cj cobra intake and then get twin turbos
@@StevenNeidlein centrifugal sc(procharger) not roots. It's been done before.
Should’ve just bought a cowl hood
Copacetic LifeStyle 2 extra hours of labor is well worth it versus the price tag of a hood and paint. Not to mention they all are offensively ugly for 18’s
True , just would’ve been way easier
Copacetic LifeStyle just thinking about cost 1300 Vs 150 and two hours of work. Well worth the extra work.
That1320Chick no doubt ! Tbh it might even have been worth it to go with a ported 18 manifold over the CJ. Half the price and like the same power if not a little more. And way easier install.
Copacetic LifeStyle that’s a common misconception. No non-biased test has been performed to show that even the best 18 manifold can actually keep up with a Cobra Jet. Plus with the 18, it’s an entirely different acting engine than the previous generations so it responds fantastically to the added flow
Boy this is going to ruff the feathers of the gen 1 and 2 guys who think their 18mani swap is better than a Cobra Jet swap.
😈😈😈 it’s definitely leaving some power on the table with that little s197 intake but it’s totally worth it!
