    If you analyse this system pedantically; generally both hands are the same height or mirror each other's position. On steering left, left hand grips downwards and slides going upwards whilst right hand slides downwards and grips upwards this can be repeated for bigger locks. The opposite being true for steering right. The exceptions to the same height element are when you intend to turn, then the lead hand i.e. left hand for left turn and vice versa moves up to 12 o'clock to start and achieve rotation more effectively from the start at turn in. The other exception being hill starts emerging left with hand on handbrake where the right hand has to take over the lead at 6 o'clock and grips pushing up.
