Christopher Renstrom, there is a wonderful little playhouse in a renovated church in Portland, Oregon, called The Portland Playhouse; everything they do is wonderfully and imaginatively done. AND, every year, they put on a production of Dickens's "A Christmas Carol," that is not to be missed! I have seen it four times, and it is always fresh, always full of new delights! I tell you this, Christopher, bc I'm pretty sure you are still in the Bay area, so the jaunt is not too far...should the Fates (or the Furies!) ever bring you into the PDX area between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I just know you would adore this beautiful little playhouse, and I know you would enjoy their productions of Dickens, or any of their other productions during the year! I waited until Christmas to listen to this & took the train to NYC to spend w my mom & sister on the full moon. I listened to the song Walking in the Air & watched Muppet Christmas Carol after. What a special treat I'll never forget.
This is interesting, because I've been researching the origins of "A Christmas Carol" for over 14 years, and I don't believe that Charles Dickens was the original author. In my opinion, the original authors were Mathew and Abby Whittier. Abby Whittier was deeply knowledgeable about the occult, including astrology. Like the movie "Ghost," to her, the supernatural elements were intended to reflect authentic teachings. It was only Dickens who turned it into a "ghost story." So if there are astrological components in that story, they would have been put there by Abby Poyen Whittier.

Interesting. It must have been a very cathartic exercise to write about others in poverty and the cruelty of Victorian England towards the poor and unfortunate - as he himself had once been. Apparently, he was an active philanthropist, bringing attention to the plight of the poor and sick. However, his 'idealistic' view about women/love and especially towards his wife, Catherine, reveal a different side. He was horrid to his wife, having a 'mistress' and lusting after her younger sister and even trying to have her committed to an asylum. After their separation, he kept her from her children and she lived in poverty. Christopher's fascinating deep dive into the astro-psychology of a Christmas Carol and his other works, aside, I wonder what a similar approach, looking at his actual horoscope might reveal about his 'dark spots'.? The plot thickens....
