I don't see why not - Tifo started off as a purely football channel and Rocket league is basically just football with cars. I agree the video was great though.
As an Aussie I gotta say it is very funny putting it in the same region as Japan when talking about players from the same region experiencing similar ping. Saudi Arabia is a very interesting case of a region just far enough from a major regional player base to create a ping difference but just close enough to not be debilitating.
Great video, but you forgot to mention what this playstyle looks like from a defenders perspective. At top level (SSL+ ) rocket league defending against a MENA player is a lot harder when they have 100 ping as they appear further away from the ball but when they eventually hit the ball they seem to close that distance a lot faster and get harder hits. As a defender you always need to give yourself some extra time to react. Love the video thanks for covering the esport
The ping situation feels similar to football players from countries at a high altitude. Even thought their body is adapted to the different levels of oxygen its still creates a hindarance. Especially at the top level, but when they play at sea level some of them benefit from playing with a lack of oxygen!
easily top 3 most toxic fanbase online. this game is played by a lot of kids and teens and they will let you know how bad you are quickly. Likewise if you ar beating them in game they forfeit easily. its been a problem for years now.
The advantage is the skills and play style they honed under disadvantaged conditions, now being unshackled from the disadvantage. Obviously the real 'advantage' is the persistence and skill that earned them their development under these conditions, but it's about an interesting quirk of factors leading to divergent development rather than calling lag an advantage.
I can attest to better ping giving you an advantage if you're used to higher latency. I felt like a superstar the first time I played online shooter games in Europe after playing from Kenya for most of my life. My reaction times were much more honed due to compensating for ping disadvantages. It went away after a couple of months of casual play, but it was definitely noticeable when I first moved to Europe.
A similar situation cropped up in competitive Dr. Mario (yes, that's a thing), where this year's winner rarely plays on the NES consoles used in live play. He honed his skills using the much less responsive Switch and marginally better Fightcade, developing a playstyle that only improved when unshackled from those controls. This is more than plausible.
fair play to joe for passing off hundreds of hours in rocket league as journalistic research
I don’t know what you’re talking about
@@joedevine4746 lol
@@joedevine4746 love it
Writing off skins no doubt
I never would have thought Tifo of all channels would cover Rocket League! Nice video!

Also Joe Divine is addicted to playing it!
it’s actually more like hockey, than football
Well played, Joe. Well played
Finally a video that will get also Joe Devine excited
Nice video, I showed it to my kids and they loved it, at the end my son asked who's shouting when the harsh advertisement came on

Finally Joe gets to do a video about Rocket League
Wild to hear Joe talk carball
It’s called soccar 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
This was an unexpected crossover. Good video!

Joe is a rocket league player if my memory serves me right. He mentioned it on the podcast a while ago.

I bet figuring out how to draw rocket league cars in the Tifo style was a headache
Never thought tifo would cover this!!
Sounds like runners who train at altitude. A disadvantage that actually makes you more efficient.
Interesting video, I like the car animations! I’ve always been so bad at rocket league though haha.
Very interesting video and really great to see some E-Sports content!!
What a Save!

Genuinely interesting
W video 👍
Great video
Love this. Don’t care for and know little about e sports. But this was a cool, fun & short breakdown of a niche topic.
The things the top players can do is pretty impressive but also very hard, as a gamer kinda cool to see
I play Rocket League and I'm also a soccer fan. So seeing this video makes me happy. :P
We need more e sports... loved it
I've just remembered this month is 10 years of Umaxit (as it was then known).

HellOOOooooh, I'm Tifo Sports.
see you in plat dropshot, joe!
👁️👄👁️
Ridiculous to assume that it could somehow be an advantage to play a championship under unfamiliar conditions.

Do you even watch the video?
