Okay...I'm still looking, but I have not yet found any information addressing my question. I have been modifying my mpcs for years now looking for that perfect...well everything. I recently decided to get this tool because my measurements using feeler gages got me pretty good results, but this tool is the most exacting there is to do this. So as I began acclimating myself to this tool I found some... well shall we say downsides. The first thing I noticed in placing my mpcs on the base plate for measurement, as smooth as it may appear and feel, it was scoring the mpce table. Not good, unless you only use metal mpces. I managed to fix that issue, but now that's proprietary. But here's my main issue/question... When you make any surface changes via sand paper, you of course are removing material. Even with the perfectly flat surface which I have... [12x12 tempered glass plate], your movements from table to tip & back are only as perfect as you can make them. Meaning if there's the slightest angle on your swipes, the tip rails will be off ever so slightly. This causes the measurements at the corners where the tip & the rail meet to be off. The ideal measurement is that these two corners match, giving you the perfectly flat surface across the entire tip, corner to corner for the reed to set on. Now I've figured out a system to get this measurement, but it all get back to eyeballing for the most part, which take the exactness away from the tool, that otherwise works great. So... if this makes any sense to anyone other than myself, I'm open to suggestions on any better way to getting these critical tip corner measurements using this otherwise awesome tool.

Excellent comment Steven! I wonder what Theo himself would say about achieving the exactness of the corner measurements you are looking for?

@@MusicMediccom Thank you! So much time is spent on all these measurements and modifications and the exactness of each but no one anywhere that I have found addresses the corner measurements.
