my appreciation for how big of an impact Final Fantasy VI has had on my life just continues to deepen year by year. what a staggering, richly-realized achievement it was.
I've had the liberty to see this orchestra not once, but twice!! And they never played this gem!! I hope they come back for more tours, bc they are simply amazing!!
At the end it's hard not feel sympathy and even a little sorry for Ralse, the singer truly conveyed his emotions for Maria even if she couldn't return them.
I once made a promise to a see this with a distant love once I flew to Canada ... But now with all the global problems, I think I'll have to wait to meet that person again... We joked that were like Draco and Maria...hoping to see each other in person again when the time came...sigh..

Try this: Imagine that the title is not Final Fantasy VI. That it is "Fantasia Finale." Now imagine that the composer is not Nuobu Uematsu, but Giacomo Puccini. Could you consider this scene and aria one of the most dramatic and beautiful you ever heard? This can rival "Nessun Dorma." Straight up. This is world-class music.
Don't know her name, but you should check out mezzo-soprano singers, too, just in case. Just by listening to her sing this brief song, I tend to think she's a mezzo, not a soprano... but hey, I could be wrong. I'd really like to know her name, too. She's amazing! I'd like to see more of her work.
Pretty awesome. The orchestra score was perfect. But the opera could have been better. The singers are great, no doubt, but the lady and the short guy just didn't fit the parts. It's not what I imagined from the game. Still, this nearly made me cry. Awesome.
