I've had my 1997 406 estate for about 13 years and don't ever want to drive another model. I intend to keep it for the rest of my life. That will tell you how good it is
Those 406 s and the 405 best diesel cars made the old ones. 1.8 diesel and the 2. 2 hdi were so frugal on diesel also. Well made and the French make great diesel cars.
There is depth adjustment on thr steering wheel. The one to buy is the 2ltr hdi 110. Peugeot parts are far cheaper than vws etc. The most common faults are heater switch (passanger footwell) gives up at 250,000 miles (10 minute fix once you have the part) Fuel pump gives up around the same millage. 3hrs to sort that. All in all a extremely reliable and durable car. Not to mention comfortable
I bought a 406 3.0 V6 back in 2009, the car got demolished in 2015, sadly only had it for 6 years. The 4 digit code to start it is what killed it. The red light was constant. Peugeot meant the car needed a new brain with programming. The money they wanted for this was more then I paid for the car so at the time I didn't even question it. Off to the scrapyard you go. A buddy of mine who purchased a 406 ended up having the entire code/security system removed/disconnected due to what happened to my car. Car ran flawlessly up until that point. I miss that car, thanks for the video :)
@@lostwill86 Oh you sure can, it's still a noisy engine, if you compare it to a bmw diesel or mercedes it's very noticeably louder and dude, i literally have one, what do you mean
@@jonywalabi2647 yours must have a bad exhaust then. I cant hear mine beside a bmw diesel. The biggest down fall of the 406 is the interior sound proofing

V6 just goes harder in coupe version
