Top 10 desert album for me! My fav band is the one before, with Ponty and Underwood. Those Fall 1973 concerts are Jazz Rock of the highest order. Btw, the Roxy CD box set is epic!
One of Frank's many high points. He usually put a 'spoiler' track on his albums, so if you liked most of it there'd be one track that tweaked your ears. To me, that was a good thing as it opened my listening to many other genres as eventually that 'spoiler' track would seep into your consciousness. Roxy [and the box set and the Movie and Roxy by Proxy] is essential listening. I think that one and One Size Fits All would be what I would choose to play someone who was on the fence about Frank. In the old days I'd have just bought them a ticket for a live show. Roxy came closest to capturing that and the band is phenomenal. I couldn't live without Roxy.

Yes, definitely one of my favorite albums of all time. Very tight, and the guitar solos are exquisite! A masterpiece indeed.

I'll second that! Love that they could play that difficult music and still have fun.
Someone asked about transcribing some of the guitar in Dummy Up. I shall but this on my list. I read it and now Im not sure where the comment is.
Watch Roxy the Movie and you can clearly see them having fun.
Yep. I bought it as soon as it came out. One of my favorite moments was seeing Frank get up and play drums!
