Just fantastic and educational. I never really thought of those sixties ambassadors much before watching these videos. I now have a new appreciation for them. They really were a Class Act
Hey thanks for the note and for checking out the series on the Ambassador; always a treat to hear from anyone else who appreciates this kind of thing like I do...Cheers!
It's great to see two old warriors of the late sixties, especially of those you would normally consider "muscle car" running down the road together and looking so great knowing that you've had your artistic hands on both of them just makes it that much better. I can imangine both of these cars being rivals of each other when piloted by some over zealous teenagers trying to impress their girlfriend's, mutual friends and ultimately, themselves.
Fine, forgotten car that you saved with minimal work, but maximum foresight. I enjoyed your sober and insightful comments on the car and AMC. Keep it up.
You are so right. These Ambassadors are outstanding in every way. They are lovely cars and well equipped. Who wouldn't have been proud to have owned this?
I watched this for the 1st time tonight Scott. That Ambassador was a really nice car ! And extremely rare today. It was cherry man ! What ever happened to it . Cheers ! 🍻👊😎👍🍻
Your wonderful attitude about the aesthetics of old cars shows in what you do in all your videos. It was especially nice to hear you talk at some length in this one, to describe what you appreciate about vintage autos using this AMC as a focus. Love your stuff!
Hi Scott , I think that your commentary at the finish of this episode most definitely qualifies for a huge round of applause to you for your wonderfully awesome description of this car. I only wish that some day I would be able to have the honor to meet you and your Buds. Please watch out for this corona virus . Chow for now.
Oh, how I love THAT AmMot Ambassador! What a BEAUTY! Classy! Classic! And a well-stated description by the narrator! Thanks for posting this! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I gotta go get a napkin now and wipe up the drool!
I was 20 years old in 1967 and I am sorry to say I would not have paid much attention to that car then. Looking at it now, I see it for the really pretty and tasteful vehicle it always has been. Thanks for saving it and sharing it with us. Paul.
I know this is rather late, but I just stumbled across this Ambassador DPL story, and just like slowing down to see a gorgeous blonde, this story caught me flatfooted. My first car was a 1967 Ambassador DPL convertible, light metallic blue with a white top. It had air conditioning, power brakes, tilting wheel, a 343, tinted glass remote side mirror, cruise control, and even a GLASS rear window, which never got scratched while scraping ice in Connecticut. I did sell it in 1975, albeit reluctantly. For some reason, the car hated my wife, and from the car's point of view, the feeling was mutual. So I had to let it go for the sake of body politick and moved on with a new career and family. As some articles about the 1967 Ambassador stated, there were some problems I encountered along the way, such as an exhaust manifold bolt that never stayed tight, a leaking gas tank, having to replace the signal mechanism inside the steering wheel due to a snapped nylon part, an annoying rattle caused by the emergency brake cable whapping on the frame (I fixed that by spiral cutting some hose and sliding it over the cable), and the coup de grace was that the driver door opening handle broke off and I had to temporarily replace it by scavenging a rear window crank which fit. And I still miss that car. Even then I knew its lines were timeless and understated just enough to pass for being one of the most classy looking cars from the '60's. There was nothing better than to drive the car with the top down, boot on, with a blonde as my copilot, on a sunny New England country road. And I still look back.
Look at all the detail of this car, new cars are globs of cheap plastic! This 1967 is a beauty ,Ambassadors were underrated they are very sharp and well built cars.
I is a very good looking car. I'd call it a luxury car. My grandfather was partial to AMC and owned a very nice Ambassador wagon of about the same vintage. The interior was very plush and comfortable. Great choice of a car to preserve.
Great monologue at the end of the video is fantastic, I love the insight you bring to the cars of the past ( more so the designers, I think they are very unsung the for the majority of the car guys out there.)
Dick Teague was also the man who brought us the AMX/Javelin, the Gremlin and the compact Jeep Cherokee (that came along in the mid '80s-a classic design that has held up very well!) . I enjoy and look forward to all of your episodes. the "agents", and of course, Stella. Thanks fer takin' us along...
The dash layout on our '68 was identical. On our '68 DPL, the parking lights were mounted on the front bumper. There was a top-of-the-line SST, whose parking lights were mounted exactly where they are on this '67. I tell you, this beauty is really tugging at the heartstrings!

Your all heart brother...thanks for all your spirit and inspiration Blessings and long life
That is a beautiful AMC Ambassador. All it needs to top it off is a pair of matching spoked mags for the front and a Romney for President bumper sticker. I owned a 1968 AMX 390 4sp. Highly underestimated.
Yeah that bad larry is quite the gentleman's tire pounder, really agree with your explanation of detail, i do like the big body sport look and those stacked headlights, it is most certainly an 'AMBASSADOR ' , Stella dose have some wicked hair I love it
I really agree on the quality of the AMC's, I've had a few over the years, still have a 65 Marlin and it's fit and finish and overall workmanship is really good, way better than a lot of cars I have owned.
Your love of AMC is infectious. Just bought two ugly, lovable 80's Cherokee's. AMC's original intent set the US to loving SUV's. Not in the same class as your Ambassador obviously. For where we live they are important. We all have you to thank for saving so much of the old iron. Now priceless because of their age. Great narration by the way.
Hey thanks for the note and for the kind words...I don't usually point the camera at myself, as the cars are much better to look at, and usually nicer to listen to as well. All the best from us here!
Love this series about the AM Ambassador. In 1967, I was only 10, 11 years old and didn't care much for AM cars. Watching this series about the '67 Ambassador, hearing all of your compliments about it, I was nodding my head on agreement with you on everything you said about this car. No, I'm not a car mechanic, merely a person that maintained my own cars over the years. I believe that, part of what hurt American Motors in the early 1970's, was build quality. My father owned a '59 AM Rambler American wagon that he bought new. Years later, he bought a '74 AMC Hornet. The Hornet seemed a poorer design and build quality then that '59 he used to say. I know that you cannot judge cars from decades apart. Different times. Business has to cut corners to save cost, I get that.. Many companies here in the states did. I'm not as educated as you are, just giving my opinion and my father's experiance from back in the day. Your ambassador, is a VERY good example indeed. Styling, thought, and proof of a quality and well thought out car. Plus, everything you said as well. Somebody took really good care of it, so your efforts to get it back on the road was hopefully painless. Enjoy your car!!!!!!!
Thanks for mentioning Dick Teague. It's interesting to learn about the designers of the auto industry. What may be common knowledge to some is a new learning experience for the rest of us. One of the many great features of cwm is the attention to design and to the design elements. Love it!
Hey thanks for the note and for the kind words... I usually try to keep the camera pointed away from myself, but in this case it seemed the appropriate way to finish up the series. All the best from us here! Cheers...
Hi Rick! Thanks for the note! Glad you liked the old Ambassador; I grew to like it more than I thought I would. A real time capsule from the golden age of AMC. All the very best from me and the girls!
I love this car and totally agree that this was probably overlooked and sadly so, I dig the seat upholstery , door panels defiantly 60`s and that so cool. I think your Ambassador is rare and would be very hard to find another in such pristine original condition. I would have to say it`s a keeper for sure. I love your channel, I hope you and all the agents keep doing what you guys are doing , take care, cheers.
The Ambassador series was awesome, loved it.....and great job on the commentary, that was entertaining as well. So true about AMC and their always-low budget. Here in the States, some of their ads featured a tagline at the bottom of the page that said "If you had to compete with GM, Ford and Chrysler, what would you do?". Thanks for a great series on a great classic.
Right On! Little styling bits really made this era of American Motors cars stand out (like the little bump-outs on the front and rear quarters to "blend in" the ends of the bumpers). A fine example you have there sir, definitely worth the effort to save and refresh that one. Cheers!
Hey thanks for the note and the kind words... I agree that the little flares on the sides really add to an already tidy design... Just a nice job overall, I think! Cheers from everyone here...
Enjoyed going back to look at this. A younger Scott. I good looking dog. A great car! I'd love to see you do some more AMCs or perhaps a Nash? Anyhow, after looking at this, it's time to go get my yellow 67 Ambassador out of the garage for a ride.
The one thing that really sticks out to me are the bumpers. Nice little tuck job from the factory, very nice fit on the car all around. Congratulations, what a score for some paint and body work.
Great video. AMC was a really interesting company. They also created arguably the first crossover with the Eagle. You see Ambassadors in so many 70's cop movies. They were everywhere and then no where.
Not a model I was familiar with here in the UK, but agree with you it has a restrained class often not found in US models of that time, and certainly not in the 70's. Your car is one to be proud of it looks mint.
Great job. Glad you like the Ambassador. AMC made some pretty good cars. Another nice one was the 1974 Matador with the 360 engine. Thanks for the videos of this fine car.
Holy fart knuckles that is one clean and unique amc car with a crisp sounding mill pushing it around. I love everything about your car and love what you do and how you go about doing it, but I really think that old ambassador deserves matching wheels all around her. The kidney bean rims look good as do the torque thruster lookin’ ones too, but please, for the sake of the old beauty queen, get her in proper foot wear! JMO.
Well, it was their own fault. The AMC Rogue was V-8 2 bbl. 260. Keep in mind it was 1967 the Javelin and AMX hadn't been introduced yet. Also, Rambler/AMC was going up against cars like the Mustang, Camaro, Chevelle SS, GTO and the Dodge Coronet RT 426 Hemi . Not to mention the Shelby 427 Cobra, Charger, Mercury Marauder, T-Bird, Corvette, Barracuda and the Torino. PS that's a nice Boss Blue Mustang in your profile.
That car is absolutely spectacular!!! I really love what AMC did the the interior utilizing different types of materials!!! It's just..........just............awesome!!! You, sir, are a very lucky and talented man!!!
We had a 71 Gremlin for awhile....some very good engineering went into that car. It inspired confidence when you got behind the wheel. I drove contemporary offerings like the Vega, the Pinto, the Maverick etc....none of them felt as well put together and thought out to me. That little car was solid.....
Beautiful photography and under rated elegant car! This car was built in Argentina too. That two deck stacked front lamp design was used by Simca of Brazil just before they were bought by Chrysler. It was the "Esplanada".
my dad had a 1966 ambassador 4 door with a 327, and a 1962 rambler classic. they are cool cars. I love the all the independent car company's they made great stuff many of there ideas were later used by the big 3.
What a beautiful example of classic late 60's styling! The black over yellow is very nice. Car sounds good too. I hope you keep this one, or send it to a good home. I'm sure there aren't many around in the shape that this is in.
I had a 72 Ambassador..fully appointed. It had a 413 Max Wedge in it from a Chrysler 300 in it and it was chained to the frame. Dual Carter Competition Series carbs..592 wheel hp and 673 tq. If i babied it...pure luxury. I bought it modded like that for 21 grand. I sold the motor for profit and put a 401 back in it and i did a light build on it. 375 hp at the wheels.I didnt have the heart to kill it. It runs to this day and it still slays people.lol
Soundtrack just put a massive smile on my face. Was waiting for the voiceover guy to say "A Quinn Martin Production"....lol, right on man, another nugget of video gold here.
Hey thanks for the note and for checking out the vid... Glad you liked it... I'll try to get some better recording equipment than my "voice memo" on my phone in here sometime and do a proper job of this stuff, haha...Cheers from me and the girls!
I had one as my first car. From ‘76-‘79. 1967 Ambassador DPL, 343-4 barrel, 2 door, coral pink with a white vinyl roof. A pink and purple brocade and vinyl interior with bucket seats. Automatic, called Flashomatic, power steering and brakes, A/C. Only thing wrong was that it was rusted out in the rear fenders. It had great balance and could make Camaro’s and Mustangs eat my dust. If it hadn’t been hit, it might still be around.
Thank you Scott for bringing this beauty to us, for our enjoyment. Wise comments you've provided. So true. Great car, great dog breed, beautiful country, wise man. Cheers and Happy Christmas to all. Chuck in Kansas
Howdy....I Love that car, I walked by an AMC dealer almost every day, I remember looking at one brand new in the showroom.I liked it then, and I love it now. Thanks for the video.
For the first minute and a half I thought it was going to be like a 'High Anxiety' thing where the camera turns to the back seat and there's a drummer and bass player actually rocking out. Mildly disappointed. Thanks for the beautiful eulogy to the model and AMC.
There's something about this car that seems like a well tailored suit. Not necessarily an expensive suit, it's just made nicely with care taken over the fit and finish. Stylish, rather than fashionable. It's hard to believe the car is fifty years old, and not just because of the condition of it.
It's a difficult one to quantify really, modern cars are unarguably better made and finished, they just have to be, and fifty years has seen a lot of improvements. However, they don't feel like they're better, they don't feel special. I can't think of a single modern car in the same category as this that would be anything other than anodyne. I can't think of something that would excite me or feel like a joy to own just as an everyday car. That sort of thing seemed to have died out in the 90s, along with comfort and interiors that aren't black or grey.
Beautiful car! I was never an AMC fan but you're right, That year was exceptional. I especially love the stacked headlights since I am a fan of the 65-67 big Fords. You're looks like it rolled off the assembly line with the exception of the mismatched wheels, which clearly give it character. Nice countryside by the way!
I just found your channel yesterday. I've watched a ton of your videos now. You have done some great stuff! Living in the more easterly parts of Canada, I'm so jealous of your cars. Something 3 years old rusts out to gone out here, let alone 80 years old. Very nice ambassador. A real time capsule. Great to see you do all the important basic maintenance!
Great commentary and overview of a classy car! I never paid much attention to anything other than the 'Big 3' over the years. Thanks for your dedication and sharing the insight into these and other oft-overlooked treasures you and your crew bring alive. Long may they run!
beautiful car for sure, in 1975 had aClassic wagon, great car, and hard to believe had a flat head six. must have been one of the last cars with such a motor. thanks.
Absolutely beautiful Ambassador. I had a 69 Javelin SST, was my favorite looking pony car of the era. Thank you.
Thanks for checking it out!
Seeing it drive down the road reminded me of an old movie montage from back in the good old days when cars were real cars👍🏻.
What a beautiful example! When i was a kid and these cars were new, the '67 and '68 Ambassadors were my favorites - tied with '67 Pontiacs in my mind.
Fiberglass headliner and nylon upholstery was bulletproof. Dad's 67 was gold with tan vinyl top. Loved that car.
Great job! Beautiful car. My first car was a 68 Ambassador SST, so I have loved these things for well over 30 years now. Thanks for sharing.
That Ambassador is a sweet piece! Cherry AF! Any car lover should consider themselves lucky to own such a piece.
Hey thanks for the note! Glad you liked the look at the old Ambassador...Cheers from me and the girls!
As a Brit I didn't share your vision till I saw it on the open road. A handsome car.
I love that it has the painted roof and not the ridiculous vinyl roof, that alot of cars had in this Era
The Ambassador definitely makes a statement.
The interior is just beautiful.
Beautiful car. Nothing built in last 30 or so years would ever come close to the class and style that car has.
Hey, thanks for the note and for checking it out! Cheers from us here...
Fine, forgotten car that you saved with minimal work, but maximum foresight. I enjoyed your sober and insightful comments on the car and AMC. Keep it up.
Hey thanks, and thanks for checking it out!
This guy makes so much sense. I love this car and it is in good hands here.
Scott, thanks for your thoughts at the end of the series. Respect .........
1967 Rebel SST looks really great, too.
You are so right. These Ambassadors are outstanding in every way. They are lovely cars and well equipped. Who wouldn't have been proud to have owned this?
AMC: gone but not forgotten :)
Great find. Should be in an AMC museum (if there is such a thing )
I watched this for the 1st time tonight Scott. That Ambassador was a really nice car ! And extremely rare today. It was cherry man ! What ever happened to it . Cheers ! 🍻👊😎👍🍻
Love the little touches like how the fenders flair out to meet the bumpers.

I only wish that some day I would be able to have the honor to meet you and your Buds.
Please watch out for this corona virus . Chow for now.
It's great to see a classic old AMC back on the road. A lot of them don't get the love they deserve.
Hey thanks for checking it out; glad you liked it! Cheers...
A beauty...hard to go wrong with stacked headlights. A rare sight . I'm an AMC fan. Very cool interior.
This yellow Ambassador is a winner. Love it. Glad it was a easy project.
Oh, how I love THAT AmMot Ambassador! What a BEAUTY! Classy! Classic! And a well-stated description by the narrator!
Thanks for posting this! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I gotta go get a napkin now and wipe up the drool!
That is truly a beautiful automobile!
I was 20 years old in 1967 and I am sorry to say I would not have paid much attention to that car then. Looking at it now, I see it for the really pretty and tasteful vehicle it always has been. Thanks for saving it and sharing it with us. Paul.
That is one wicked bad ass car! Give my best to Stella, Francine, and the crew of agents who help make it all happen. Merry Christmas!
I know this is rather late, but I just stumbled across this Ambassador DPL story, and just like slowing down to see a gorgeous blonde, this story caught me flatfooted. She’s a beauty! And that “SOS” from your grumpy neighbor at the end of each episode *always* makes me laugh!
I found a great vintage AMC ad facetiously comparing the Ambassador DPL to the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. How can I get the ad to you?
Me too. Usually out loud. Wife thinks I'm nutz.
Very classy looking car. It reminds me of all the cars I should not have sold. I love all the old sleek looking two door fastbacks as well. All makes.
Look at all the detail of this car, new cars are globs of cheap plastic! This 1967 is a beauty ,Ambassadors were underrated they are very sharp and well built cars.
That is a handsome car even 50 years later.
Love the seat upholstery. I think everyone had an aunt or uncle with a car that had similar seat covering.
Fantastic! This is one beautiful ride. Thanks for sharing it. And I love that color, absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks for checking it out! Cheers...

Elegant and understated is how I'd describe your car.
Best, Tom
Another great video! Very nice car. I love how the bumpers flow into the front fender and rear quarter panels.
Lovely automobile! Nice work!
My pops worked for Nash/AMC way back. The factory was 5 miles from where I grew up in Wisconsin.
I love that car, I always wanted a 67 because that's the year i was born, the colour is so close to my 69 pontiac, nice to see it has a good home.
Bravo. Loved this car since day one and I cannot wait for the next one. Keep up the great work!
Hi Rick! Thanks for the note! Glad you liked the old Ambassador; I grew to like it more than I thought I would. A real time capsule from the golden age of AMC. All the very best from me and the girls!

Hey thanks for the note and for the kind words...Next car coming right up... Hope you guys dig it! Cheers...
Beautiful car, and cool guys , love watching you're videos take care.
Hey thanks for the note and for saying so... Next car project already underway and vids coming up soon! Cheers...
my dad had a 1966 ambassador 4 door with a 327, and a 1962 rambler classic. they are cool cars. I love the all the independent car company's they made great stuff many of there ideas were later used by the big 3.
Love the lines on that one ! Lots of much sought after options as well. Deliver it to North Carolina, and I'll take it off your hands
What a beautiful example of classic late 60's styling! The black over yellow is very nice. Car sounds good too. I hope you keep this one, or send it to a good home. I'm sure there aren't many around in the shape that this is in.
Yeah, she's a sweetie for sure... I may have to find it a good hoome to help finance the next one...it's gonna be a doozy, haha... Cheers!
i totally agree with you asessment of the ambassador and of American motors! keep up the good work!
classic coldwarmotors should be the name for this channel..
always thank you for the updates and all of the classic canadian cars!! Cheers!
Hey thanks for the note and for watching this stuff! All the best from me and the girls! Cheers...
I'll try to get some better recording equipment than my "voice memo" on my phone in here sometime and do a proper job of this stuff, haha...Cheers from me and the girls!
what a fantastic car, wonderful cloth pattern, very elegant use of chrome. well done
Hey thanks so much for the note and the kind words. I'll keep doing this stuff if anyone wants to see it...All the best from me and the girls...
Possibly the best first minute of a youtube video ever. Sharp car, cool music, great videography! What a cool car and y'all did a great job on it.
This car looks good at every angle! Fantastic job gentlemen!
That sort of thing seemed to have died out in the 90s, along with comfort and interiors that aren't black or grey.
todays cars are mechanically superior but they just dont have the soul that old cars have
Very well said.Stella has the best big hair!
Wouldn't surprise me if Jay Leno contacted you about this fine old car.
Beautiful, unique car. Nice work.
The Ambassador is one sweet gem.
Thanks for the note and for checking out the vids! All the best from Alberta...
"will it run?" There was never any doubt about it! Beautiful car
Great commentary and overview of a classy car! I never paid much attention to anything other than the 'Big 3' over the years. Thanks for your dedication and sharing the insight into these and other oft-overlooked treasures you and your crew bring alive. Long may they run!
Hey thanks for the note and for checking out the vid... more on the way soon here! Cheers...
beautiful car for sure, in 1975 had aClassic wagon, great car, and hard to believe had a flat head six. must have been one of the last cars with such a motor. thanks.
I love unusual cars this one definitely qualifies!
