- Some have asked for more stories about Mom. I share few stories about her that will give you a little more insight into her character, her caring heart, and the many ways she helped shape the man I am.
Although subscribers feel we knew her, nothing speaks louder for her than the wonderful family she raised.
She and Bucky saving those kittens and the two rescued poodles says it all.
We love when you do videos about your mom and Bucky. It warms our hearts. We miss them so. ❤
You know we lost two nice people that we so enjoyed a lot, but with the loss, we gained your family and the journey along with you. God bless and stay safe.
Well said
Phyllis was genuine and had such a calm loving nature. I miss her! She loved and was loved.
I loved watching your mom. My best memory is the ones she did as Steely about Sunny! She was a wonderful lady, and i still miss her.
I could listen to stories about you and your Mom & Bucky all day.
Thanks, Janet.
I miss them and their furry family. She was so real.
Those memories are not silly; they are very precious.
Father passed years ago. Lost my Mom in 2017. After renovation and sale of the home I realized how I had time on my hands and sorely missed my folks. Then I found your mothers videos. So good. Heartwarming. I cannot tell you how many evenings after a long day, cooking dinner and listening to your mother. She warmed my heart and I felt it was a blessing sent my way. Thank you.
Thank you, Jeff.
Your mom was extraordinary !
Bucky was a "Lucky Man" to have such a Wonderful Woman in his life...you too Stephen. Thanks for sharing! 🙏🎄🌞💌
He always felt lucky!
Bucky and Phyllis were both so kind, sweet, and smart!! Phyllis could do anything! We miss them so much... You are doing such a great job, Stephen....
Well said Charlotte 😄
Thank you, Charlotte.
It is very kind of you to open up about the memories you have had about your mom. Your very brave. Thank you for letting us in.
You are so welcome
I cannot believe it has been a year come Jan. 20 that she is gone. I miss her too, always will. Hugs and prayers for you all Col. Steve.
You make your mother proud! And you’ve carried on her goodness with your own family. You and your wife definitely are paying it forward with your children. “You done good!”
Thank you, Kimberly!
Made her old fashion fudge tonite, I pictured her in heaven smiling while she on UA-cam and my wife and I were making fudge. Loosing your mom is something in life that you never get over or around. I miss my mom a lot but very thankful for the many years I had a mom.
I loved Miss Phyllis and miss her so much. Thank you for sharing these beautiful memories with us.
Isn't it a comforting thought that your beautiful, loving mother had her soul mate in Mr. Bucky. Some are not so lucky ever but your mother was a very thoughtful woman...such a wonderful lady till the end.
Isnt' it sweet to know how many people loved your mom and Mr. Bucky. They are missed but thank you for keeping their memories alive here. I think she would be surpised and thrilled that you are hosting this channel.
Not surprise, I think. Nor would I think she'd be surprised at the love and support I've received from all of you. She loved and appreciated all of you, too!
Yes she wanted you to continue the channel didn’t she? She knew you loved to cook. You have helped me travel to places I would not ever have been able to travel to. I love your videos more than I can express. Your devotions always touch my heart. Love to you and your entire family. @@PhyllisStokes
You look just like your mom! She was a gift to us all!! Just loved everything about her!!
I did not know about Phyllis’s channel until she had passed. Wanda told me about it afterwards. To me, you have a Burns look around your eyes especially. I am enjoying your additions. The home place of her youngerNC years has really gone down.
I loved watching you mother. She was down to earth, seemed to know quite a lot of subjects and her videos were always interesting and sometimes so funny (Bucky and her talking about getting Whitman chocolate for Christmas or her talking for Steely about the cats or new pup). I will always remember she & Bucky. And am very much enjoying yours as well. Thank you for taking it over rather than just letting it go.
Hi Stephen the thing that drew me to Phyllis was her Southern accent. I was drawn to watch due to that comfort in her tone. 🇦🇺
Thanks, Sofia! I'll make sure to "thicken up" my Southern accent in the future! LOL!
@@PhyllisStokes hahaha....you've got a terrific sound as well! Forgot to thank you for the extra instructions on the pickled cucumbers you sent me. Cheers ⛄
I loved your Mom and I sure do miss her
Thanks for sharing your memories of your mom. I really enjoyed it! 👍
Your Momma reminded me so much of my grandmother. She had sort of a hard exterior, but a heart of gold. I came across Ms Phyllis’ channel, looking for a recipe. After one video, I was hooked. She had the most soothing tone in her voice, and being a meticulous person myself, I love how she explained things, and showed how to do things. I cannot thank you enough for sharing these memories of her.
Thanks Stephen for sharing your heartwarming stories of Miss Phyllis, Mr Bucky and your childhood, its such a joy to listen and that You and Renee came from a loving and supportive family. Miss Phyllis was a very creative lady and was truly blessed and thanks again for your stories its much appreciated 😊
You are very welcome, Lydia!
Your mom was a doll. Just precious. They are both missed. Their last Christmas video, the one about their childhood Christmases, is absolutely priceless.
I loved the one when she teased Mr. Bucky about always getting her The Whitman Sampler♥ I love them too and it seems he was the one that wanted the Sampler♥♥
Still miss them.@@louisenurse1234
I am in the middle , right now, of making her chocolate covered cherries. As many other people,I love watching her cook. So soothing.
Yum! Try the Favorite of Mr Bucky “Divinity”
Hi,Stephen. I just loved your Mother. I admired her because she was so smart, plus she had so much common sense. I miss her. I know it's hard on you...I sure do appreciate your stories. I know Mrs Phyllis would be so proud of you. You take care. Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much, Charlene!
I can’t tell you how much I miss your lovely Mum’s videos . It might seem funny as I never had the privilege of meeting her , but her light & goodness came though so well in her videos . I think of her very fondly , thank you for telling us about her 💙
Thanks so much!
I loved your Mom so much. Thanks for sharing your memories and keeping her alive in our hearts.❤🙏
You are so welcome, Joyce.
You are so much like your mom. Love the memories. It is sad this time last year you were trying to prepare yourself to say goodbye. I still watch her videos because she was so patient with the details of a recipe.
They don't call it "climbing" the stairs for nothing. God has impeccable timing - knowing all. May your holidays fill you with what everyone cherishes - fond memories💖
Your Mother’s Old Fashioned Rum Fruitcake is baking in the oven right now. Loved Phyllis and her recipes. Love you too! An acorn doesn’t fall from the tree.
💙Therapeutic💙. Thanks for sharing your memories with us Colonel🤗!
💜Your mom was my kind of gal, book smart/lots of common sense/hard working/handy woman/organized/caring/frugal/true lady and I still love watching her videos. She is gone but not forgotten 💜
❤️I loved how you & your sister sang your mom's morning instructions❤️. You were a hoot & still are sir😂.
Thank you!
Most welcome 👍
Love hearing about your Mom and Bucky.
Your mom really showed her tender heart when she adopted those two kittens that were living under her trailer. Then she took the time to really make sure they had good homes.💖
Sweet memories thanks for sharing. 🙂
You're blessing us Sir. Thank you.
I loved your mom and Mr. Bucky, both good folks. I'm so glad you're carrying on your mom's legacy, you're lucky that there seems to be a lot of your mom in you, your looks, virtues and values. As a divorcee that was then always a single mom I know it can change you in ways you wish weren't necessary and the mistreatment at some jobs can take its toll too. I had a supervisor steal all my work after he said the project had been a waste of my time. I was livid but kept working there because I had a child to feed and an ex that thwarted child support by signing his business over to his live in girlfriend and claiming he was poor. Anyway, my tender heart is surrounded by a fortress, a moat full of gaters, barbed wire and land mines by necessity not choice. Your mom was fortunate to have her faith and to let Mr. Bucky in. It's hard to trust anyone when a lot of people have failed you. I'm glad you were wise enough to realize why your mom was how she had to be. You're a good son! ❤️
Thank you, Hanna!
You are very tenderhearted. I’m your mom’s age and my oldest son is your age. He, like me, is the same! She would be so proud of you. But she was anyway, but she never bragged. I loved her.
Thank you, Bobbie!
This is the best time to start rewatching all her videos. Sure do miss her🥰
Your mom and Mr Bucky was soooo loved and so deeply missed 😞🙏🏼
I love hearing all these beautiful memories of your Mom. Your Mom and Mr Bucky were such special people. We all loved them. I'm so thankful you are caring on in their footsteps with this channel.. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome
The world is a poorer place for Miss Phyllis and Mr Bucky's loss.
I really like your stories,You seem like a warm and genuine person. Not many like you around anymore.
I appreciate that very much!
Thank-you, Stephen Ritter for sharing your memories of your mother. I don't believe she ever knew how much she was loved and respected by so many. Phyllis touched a lot of lives, and she left the world a better place. . .she made a difference. . .
Thank you, Rebecca. She had a good idea and was amazed about it all until the end. She has great fans and followers!
STEPHEN, NOT A SOUL COULD THINK BAD OF U ,EVER, UR A FINE MAN!! A BLESSING 💞
Thank you, Peggy!
@@PhyllisStokes THANKS FOR YOUR FUNNIES, I'M SURE IT'S A SMILE ON LOT'S OF FACES!! TY
Thank you Colonel for sharing the precious memories of your Mom. She touched many of our hearts and we felt like we had a friend. You’re continuing on your Moms channel and we’ve come to feel the same way about you and your family.
Wow, thank you
Thank you Stephen for sharing. I miss Phyllis and Mr Bucky they were good people what the world needs now are people like them .
I never tire of listening to your family stories! Like everyone else I watched tons of your mom's and Mr Bucky's videos. Wonderful memories!!!!
This time of year reminds me of “the Whitman’s Sampler” video, it was so funny to me. Your mom and Bucky figuring out what gifts to get each other.
I remember the Whitman’s Sampler story too!
I loved that one!
I remember that video too!
I think of them every time I see a Whitman’s Sampler! Mr Bucky sure expected a box at Christmas! They were an awesome couple...
What an incredibly adorable story! It is so typical of those days.
I can see your Mother now comforting you. She had a huge
Heart, and let me say, looks like you inherited it! What a precious
human being you are. Stay strong sweetie. You made this old lady’s day today.
God Bless. 🙋♀️🙏🕊♥️
Thank you, Victoria!
Amen to that, Victoria!
Your precious mom had a heart for Jesus and people. I look so forward to meeting her and mr bucky in heaven.
Your Mom was a such an awesome and amazing woman. My sister started watching her, then I did. We watched and listened to her every day. And Mr. Bucky. We got so sad and broken hearted when she told of their illnesses etc. We miss them so much. But you have made us feel welcome and you are just like your Mom. Hearts of Gold and beliefs in God. Your Mom looked so much like my great aunt. Same sweet personality. My sister would sleep with your Mom's videos on all night. She cooked delicious food, and we enjoyed hearing of things about her life. She could do just about everything I think. Amazing! Talented! Thank you very much for sharing things about your Mom and your life too. We enjoy listening to you just as much. May God bless you and your family!!
I felt your comment deep in my heart. I found Ms Phyllis quite by accident one day but I never looked back. She was the grandma I never had, the Mom that we all want and the girlfriend and confidant that I’ve always wanted. I will always love her and Mr. Bucky. I will NEVER forget them. They are family for sure!♥️🥰. If anyone ever wondered who Ms Phyllis was all you need to do is look at their beautiful well maintained home or her beautiful son and his family or her beautiful marriage with Mr Bucky♥️♥️♥️. Oh I’m just tearing up over here. I miss them so much. God Bless Stephen for carrying on with this channel. Oh and just between you and me, I too watch Ms Phyllis at night when I am unable to sleep or feeling anxious or unhappy. She always had a way of providing comfort and before you know it my mind is quiet and my heart is happy and I’m sleeping like a baby. Anyway I felt like you might understand where I’m coming from but I will stop talking your ear off now. Take care of yourself and stay happy healthy and safe. Merry Christmas to you and yours (If you celebrate)😊❤️
@@lorettalouvros207 Thank you very much for your sweet and heartwarming comment. I appreciate it very much. We feel the same about Ms Phyllis. Miss her so much. May God bless you! Merry Christmas! ❤🙏🎄🙂
Thank you both, Dreama and Loretta! Mom was always amazed that there were folks who would put on her videos to sleep. I told her she needed to contact one of those audiobook places about reading for them. She would laugh.
@@PhyllisStokes That would have been great! She had such a sweet smoothing voice.
@@PhyllisStokes oops my secret is out! lol Yes I admit your Mamma had that effect on me for sure. She soothes the soul as they say. Definitely would have listened to anything she read in audio form.
So wonderful the way you share your memories with your Mom. You're right about everyone being so complex.
Thank you for sharing. I watched all of your Moms videos and was so sad when Mr Bucky and Phyllis passed . I felt like I lost a dear friend.I’m sure I’m not speaking for just myself when I say .... She did not know I existed but I felt like we were friends. That’s a great gift she had . Her presence on her videos would pull you in as if you were in her kitchen with her as she cooked. It’s lovely hearing you give us insight to the life ,spirit and your personal memories of your Mom.
I really miss her🙏❤️
That's how it felt for her too, Dawne.
I loved your mother. I watch her videos all the time. She enjoyed everything in life food family her garden. She had the secret of a great life. Surround your self with everything you love and she did. I truly miss her. God Bless.
I am 3 months older than your mom was and today is my daughter's birthday and thought of you and your mom. I Discovered Phyllis this past July because I was given some summer squash so I looked up what might I do with them. Saw her and instantly found and cherished my new video friend and a month later, saw she had passed. I cried and cried. I bought her farm house painting and it in my kitchen and each morning as I prepare my coffee I see the painting and think of her so a day does not go by without thoughts of her and think, why did she have to go, all her admirers were not ready to lose her. I love and use many of her recipes and still have not seen all, I'm going slowly to keep her memory alive. So thank you Stephen, for continuing your shared memories and also enjoy your recipes and thoughts. As I've previously mentioned ,I loved the Citadel tour as I am a senior former army brat. Thank you again, and love your stories.
Thank you very much, Diane!
Thank you so much for this one, Stephen. It seems you’ve been richly blessed to have two precious women love you unconditionally...your dear mom, and your Arlene...you can tell when a man has been loved by good women. God Bless you all. ❤️
Thank you very much, Cindy. I love that expression...
There wasn’t a project your mother was afraid to try, I loved that about her💜
Me too! I like to think I get that from her.
Thank you for sharing. I hope it doesn't make you sad to remember. What a wonderful mom!
I love your sense of humor Stephen. I always love when you talk about your Mom. Phyllis was such a special person. Always genuine. You learned from the best for sure and I see that you are instilling great values in your own beautiful children. 💕
Thank you, Albena. Arlene and I certainly do our best.
I remember when I first found your Mom’s channel. It hadn’t been too long after I’d lost my own Mom and was going through that spell of trying to make some of Mom’s recipes and swore I knew exactly how until I didn’t. I was sad and frustrated and then came across the green jello recipe. That was one I was having trouble with. I couldn’t make the bubbles believe it or not!!! Your Mother made me feel less alone and unhappy. I was very very grateful to her. Thanks for sharing your memories with us. 🥰
Thank you!
I loved your dear mom so much, Mr Buckey was such a lovely man too, God bless you and your family Stephen❤💜❤💜
Thank you for sharing your and her stories. Some of my favorite videos of Miss Phyllis was when she was cooking a recipe and she would also tell a story of her early years growing up because the recipe she was making was one that her mother made! Your mom was a little bit older than I am ,but we were of the same era of time. The late 40's into 50's... The years when as children we could play outside all day, be totally safe. Visit any neighbor we knew and play with friends. Wait to hear our mothers call us in for supper at early sunset. I Remember growing up when the porch brooms became our imaginary horses to ride and the old barn wheelbarrel became a pretend cars to fill with our toy baby dolls and run around with on a pretend trip to somewhere. Good old days.
Thanks for the memories! M-
Love the memories. Your mom was really special! So special to hear you visit about her to her "friends."
As a person who has gone through a divorce, I can understand her hardships and a mom's heart breaks when
her children are hurt. That's the reason we continue to try when it is apparent that it's not going to work.
But life goes on, thank God, and we share our faith and our story, and we emerge stronger people. God is good.
I love hearing these stories.
😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇
Thank you for sharing your memories. Your mom and Mr. Bucky were such very special people. Your mom has given you blessings beyond measure.
You are so welcome

Thanks for listening
Thanks for sharing. I always like hearing your mom memories and stories!
Glad you like them!
Memories of my mother are always the best. I loved watching your mom it brought back precious memories of mine. God bless her.
Thanks so much!
The fact that she raised such a good strong, honest, hardworking and loving man as you, speaks volumes about her character, but then, her wonderful heart and loving nature shone through in all of her videos. What great memories you carry of her in your heart. She and Mr. Bucky are so missed! Thanks for sharing these wonderful memories you have of her with us!
The stories that reveal who we are and what we pass on is so valuable. ❤️
I loved your stories. I hope when I'm gone, my son recounts his memories of me with the same fondness you speak of her. I loved your mom, she was home to me. I will forever miss hearing "teriyaka" sauce...yes, she always ended teriyaki with an 'A'. I also loved the way she pronounced carrots. I could have been satisfied just listening to her read the phone book; such a warm, soothing voice. You're doing good by her, just remember that. And we all love and appreciate you for keeping up with this channel & her memory. I also think she loves the name change.
YES! The terriyaka sauce! I think of her every single time I reach for mine.
Thank you, Jaime!
I miss Phyllis so very much, like I lost a good friend. I still cry knowing she has passed.
Stephen, I am so grateful you have kept her channel up. I can see your Mama any time I need to in her videos. Bless you.
You are very welcome, Kristi.
Love these memories of your Mom, Stephen. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. The more I learn about her, the more I feel cheated...that I was not able to ever meet her. She sounds like such an incredible lady. But I guess I WILL be able to meet her, eventually, when I meet her in Heaven. Thank you for these wonderful memories. God bless you.
One day we'll all meet there with her, right? Thank you!
Love the memories you shared about your Mom! Could see in her that she loved to figure things out and how she could do it herself! That is terrible that guy took advantage of all her hard work figuring out the tools and collecting that info! She sure gave you great advice on being with someone that made you happy and feeling love! Thanks Stephen! You have such an easy going personality and great sense of humor!
Thank you, Sheila!
Whenever I miss Miss Phyllis I watch her videos and always laugh at the "tap, tap, tap" on her pots and pans. She will always be a part of me. She reminded me of my mother who was born and raised in Virginia.Thank you for carrying on her channel. I always let the commercials play to help the school. God Bless you and all your family.
Thanks for sharing the memories. We could all use more heartwarming stories about family life like this these days.
I discovered her channel by accident this past spring. And, now that you took over after her passing, I always find your vlogs informative, entertaining, and very comforting whether you and or your children are cooking or you’re sharing a message. Today and has gotten so difficult for me.. my only and precious 7 year old grandson was killed on Saturday in a 4 wheeler accident. So today when I saw your message ... it was so comforting and apropos for me. I know that I will never see Bradley on this Earth, but one day I will. My memories will bring a smile to my face one day as time passes.
Oh my, so very sorry for your loss. Praying for God to bring you comfort as you can be sure that Bradley is in His comforting arms!
I’m very sorry for the loss of your grandson! May God comfort you! Bradley is with him forever and you will join him one day.
Goodness - prayers for strength, Leslie. ❤️
My condolences Leslie😢. May the God of all Comfort, comfort you during these difficult times. May HE wrap his arms around you day and night, and give you strength. Yes you have those precious memories of your precious grandson. Till you meet again🙏. Will have you and your family in my prayers🙏🙏🙏
May you feel The Arms of Jesus Christ giving you strength and comfort.
What a blessing your mom's videos have been to me, I loved getting to know her via UA-cam. I so appreciate the memories you share. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
Mother Phyllis was a Very Talented Southern Lady. She gave more of herself then anyone seen. She did some really Amazing things to help Others. I Miss Her and I Miss her Still Very Much. I Loved her as a another Mother as My Mother passed away when I was in my Teens. Mother Phyllis was a Kind hearted Lady. She gave to the homeless any time she seen them esp at the Holidays when we see them more. She told me some stories during the Holidays of her encounters. Gosh You were Very Blessed to have her so many Years Stephen. God Bless You and Your Family.
So nice to hear you reminiscing about those early years with your Mom and how they shaped you, and, then later, as an adult, the conversation with your Mom and Mr. Bucky. Sweet memories are a gift that you can unwrap over and over again. Thanks for sharing.
I still watch some of her older videos. Love that woman.
Its nice to hear about your mum , I so loved her videos , thanks for dharing
She was a wise and beautiful soul. She was proud of you and she Loved Mr.Buckey. She loved all her family. But she spoke of you two more often.
Thank you for keeping your mom's channel up and running and sharing your memories of Miss Phyllis!
You're welcome, Helen. I'll keep it up as long as people want to watch.
Thanks Steven.I love to listen to u talk about your Mom,yourself and family . Its nice of u to share with us.
Thanks for sharing your mom she was a sweet lady. I sure miss her videos.
Thank you for sharing such sweet memories of your beautiful Mom. 💖💐😊
Thank you for letting us know more about your Mom. Miss her & Bucky. Aloha
Condolences. She was a gem and so was Bucky. I only recently started watching her so I’m binge watching now and meal planning for the future. She’s literally the only cooking person I watch. She reminds me a lot of my grandmother although she is my mother’s age. My grandmother was a home economics high school teacher. She taught many a young person including me. My mother was more of an “experimental cooker” and tends to add wheat germ, alfalfa sprouts, and bran to everything. Lol. Stay safe where you are and again I’m so sorry for your loss.
Thank you, Wende.
You have no idea how lucky you were. I can only say bless you and wish I had , had your life. ❤️
She was neat, southern Lady 4 sure. I think she was more relax when off the camera. Just loved her. She was trying to show us how we should be...💜. But some are far from it, but also taught us how to budget, I was lucky I was taught that even when we had money. Some generations never forget and didn't let me forget either...💜
Could listen to you tell stories all day!
Hi Stephen...what I remember from what I saw online from your mother was that she loved to cook but most of all she was a Jack of All Trades type...she did plumbing-painting...you name it she did it and I couldn't believe my eyes how good she was at everything and she had so much taste.I never met her and didn't know anything about her character good or bad BUT she put a lot of passion in everything she did and she loved to work she loved her home and she loved her Bucky! They were great together! You can be proud of her...she took care of finance and had a wonderful life together.I have only good things to say about them from what I've seen!Alberta my dear is one of the coldest provinces. They should have come to Québec where I live!
I love to hear about your memories of your Mom and Mr Bucky. I loved them and love you and your family. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks, Fannie!
Precious memories...wonderful lady!.... oh how I miss my mom
