Yes with the infomation shown you can't actually set up a quick demo so it's rather misleading. "placeholder" was entered under the External IdP (SAML 2.0) information which returns a syntax error ( not shown in the demo). A while later you show an Okta screen with pool windows all ready to go. Clearly there's a lot more setup needed than the demo suggests
I used to have to roll my own using x windows, rdp and all other ui port forwarding hell. But the problem i had was i didnt know when to stop including things so i bloated the desktop into remote debugger, docker, k8s jenkins cicd etc. I think the pricing would be critical for wider scale adoption.
Hi, very nice video thank you. Actually im very new to AWS and i want to create an POC environment for my company to use Pools. Maybe im stupid or i just underestimated the complexity. The documentation for Workspaces Pools with SAML is not that specific. I managed to login on the AWS SSO but when it redirects me back to the application (workspace) it is not logged in, i guess my RelayState is wrong but the documentation does not say anything about that. I see in your demo you are redirected to something like .../sso-redirect-native?state= but this does not happen in my case. It would be very nice if there are deeper tutorials how to setup a authentication with workspaces pools from scratch. Maybe it is a stupit question and i just have to understand more about the SSO but for me it looks like the documentation is not that specific and it would help if there are more information.

Sorry to say that they seem ignore the most important part of how to config the saml 2.0 with the existing Directory which registered to the workspaces already, We all know that AD do have the role of adfs which could support saml. we could understand they provided a ways to integrated with other platform but the MAD should be the fast and properly directory. It make me very confuse why they don't provided the direct connection with MAD and provided a option to integrated with other platform . Even in this "demo", they ignore the part of saml part.
Thanks for sharing this feedback with us, I've passed it along internally to our Events team for review. I also found this doc which outlines the prerequisites needed before configuring your SAML 2.0, you may find helpful: go.aws/3X7wGLF. ✅ ^MO
