    Great instructional video. Thanks for explaining the purpose of the different fork components

    Great video, I'm thinking about heavier springs and probably heavier oil for my 400s. I feel better about doing it myself now.
    Thanks for posting.

    Hi Virginia Motorrad, thanks for the video.
    I would like to ask if you can measure the damper rod holder tool...
    I'd like to build it myself, so i'd like to know the size of the nut, the diameter of the hole and the length of the tool.
    Thank you!

    Hi, thanks for your video! May I ask what are the dimensions for the spacers you made to shorten the stroke? Cheers!

    I am interested in putting a lowering bushing in my DRz forks, can I remove the cartridge without doing the full lower disassembly? I'm thinking get it down to springs removed, unthread the cartridge and remove though the top.

      I just don't recall if you can pull the cartridge out without taking the tube out of the slider, sorry. I do not routinely work on these forks.

    What’s with the heat? I’ve done lots of forks and never needed heat before

      I believe they have threads. I haven't removed an axle clamp yet, so I don't know the details.

    when my damper rod came out, the inner inner rod, a needle and spring came with it, is that normal, or does that mean something is broken?

    • @virginiamotorrad1952
      @virginiamotorrad1952  6 років тому

      Totally normal (I assume you're talking about the thin aluminum rod that is actually inside the damper rod; let's call it the compression rod). The compression rod is pushed down by the compression adjuster on the fork cap, and pushes on the needle and spring in the piston to adjust the compression damping. The three parts all come out separately and are not mechanically connected.
