Digging into a different genre with this one! I love these types of movies and to watch a horror / thriller movie from India was just awesome.

I think it was lost in translation but it always rains in Tumbbad ever since they started worshipping Hastar
Yeah they mention that at the end (or we missed it at the start but at the end they say it again and then we both at the same time go.... OHHH that makes sense)

This movie took 13 years to make, they all shot it on the live locations and all the scenes of rain are real..... They literally had to wait for the rain to fall.... That's why it's such a masterpiece. Tumbadd is famous for the curse of rain and its said that the gods are upset over the people of Tumbadd thats why it rains immensely over there. It is a real place in the state of Maharashtra, India around 350 kms from the city of Mumbai.

Actually this film is based on Marathi Novel. Wishes, selfishness never end. Until our death, and after death. 🤐. Haster means good evil. The old woman is shown as a ghost (unstoppable wishes) and the area is kokan, Maharashtra. The name Tumbbad comes from “Tumbbadche Khot" a book by S. N. Pendse. However, the story of the movie Tumbbad is loosely based on two different short stories, both by Narayan Dharap. It didn't had a chance against Parasite considering all the other great releases.

100% I am a huge horror fan of some of the ones done right in Hollywood so when I heard of this one I had to watch it. I really appreciate how it was done. They did not rely on jump scares which is awesome. (I think jump scares can be a bit cheap)

You guys should add Go Goa Gone to your list because that's truly a one of a kind horror comedy. It's from the same directors that made Family Man.
This is a movie which was done at a very low budget and hence literally very little vfx. The heart of the grandma was pumped from outside to replicate a real heart. It is just unbelievable how they managed to shoot this movie without vfx.
So impressive!
This one is by far the best film made in India. Those poor souls who made this film, had to go through nightmares, they didnt have money, weather, production and many more issues. Indian public did not give as much credit it needed but they did to stupid bollywood stars films.

All the scenes were shot in pure natural lights. Even the climatic conditions were natural. ❤
I like this movie because all the scenes in this movie are real and even the rain scenes in this movie are real ,,,only 1% VFX. It took 6 years to make this movie, that's why this is my favorite movie. Masterpiece ever story, realism , acting is top notch 🆗

I was is Graduation 2nd year, whem my friend showed me this movie. In the scene where Granny roars, I was about to piss myself .
