This is phenomenal! This reveals two things about Zack Snyder: 1. His attention to detail is so great that he was able to successfully replicate from different angles a sequence from Man of Steel for BvS; 2. The sheer amount of “Street Views” indicate that he didn’t forget the purely human element in his Superman story, namely his effect on the people of Earth, both in words and action. The consequences for the people weren’t forgotten in his Superman story.

zack did injustice to that actor he could have saved him to play METALLO in future DCEU projects against superman as the storyline would have also fitted since that security guard lost his family in that metropollis battle due to superman fight
@@ninj493 apparently Zack had planned for him to be Metallo in MOS2, but WB pushed for BvS and Doomsday, so that idead got scrapped and Zack instead tried to make BvS basically MOS2

The idea of terraforming is amazing since its also what humans do. We don't care how many ants and insects are killed when we decide to build our house. For the Kryptonans this is a nice land to build their house and there are some insects living there. So why should they care? I love DC perspective of Gods doing their thing without caring for humans at all and how well they portray that feeling of hopelessness for the normal humans... I mean what can a normal person do in this situation? Just pray they are not the next living thing under the boot of these powerful beings.
Yup I learned this lesson when I watched the anime called psrasyt We humans are hypocrites In that aniem the scenario is "what id there is a higher being that eat on humans"

@@bogbog4678 Yes I am really doing that, was I not clear o.o? Humans were insects to Kriptonians and they were trying to turn Earth into Krypton in the movie. I think the comparison is pure art; Superman was definitely saving earth from Zod and we are all rooting for him in MoS. But amazingly, in BvS, I just hated Superman for destroying the city and I totally understand how Batman felt, to him, he was just another alien quarrelling with another dangerous alien but at the cost of innocent lives. Both of these movies exist with the same tone, yet they felt so different and unique. I wish I learned how to appreciate them more when it first came out. Looking back at it, no other superhero movie, even nowadays Black Adam, can ever match the level of excitement and emotions MoS and BvS impacted me. I wish Zack Snyder could've gotten the liberty of creating more superhero movies like this.
Wow. This really put the movie in a different perspective. I feel like a civilian witnessing a natural disaster. Only its superpowered aliens fighting each other. Now it makes completely sense why the people are divided about Superman in BVS

This movie's alien invasion scenario is truly terrifying and more realistic than most other alien invasion movies, where humans are utterly unable to fight back at all, being technologically outmatched in every way. I have seen some people wonder why the employees and their manager waited at some top floor of that skyscraper, while around them skyscrapers collapse. The reason is Bruce Wayne told the manager to wait. If you watch the film we see Bruce Wayne arrive by helicopter. This tells us he wasn't far from Metropolis. Gotham in BvS is at the other side of the bay. So it's logical for Bruce to tell his subordinate to wait before making any hasty decisions because he is so close by. Up to this point a skyscraper was a safe place to be. Bruce is a man who takes responsibility. In the car Bruce calls the manager and tells him to get out of the building. When he calls, he uses quick dial. This tells us they were constantly in contact. After Bruce hangs up the phone he looks frustrated. He realizes then he made a mistake. They should have left the building immediately. Later on when he finds Wally underneath the broken building we see how close he is with his employees. Wally says: "your the boss boss". This tells us what kind of a leader Bruce Wayne is. His employees have blind trust in his capacity. It's the reason why the manager waits for his boss orders. It's also an important part of Bruce Wayne's character motivation to later hate Superman. Because he is indirectly responsible for his employees death, to Bruce he has failed. He has let down the people depending on him. Like he let down that Robin. And like he couldn't save his parents.
cill521 i wonder why he didny put on his suit i mean i know that its kryptonians but if he had his suit he could have helped more people with batmobil and stuff he could have atleast tried or aided superman
@@slurp3194 Here a couple of reasons why that would make no sense to me - He doesn't know Superman. Bruce won't magically feel the need to assist Superman. To Bruce its just aliens fighting. - If you watch the film Bruce is chasing bad guys with the batmobile, he seems unstoppable. Then Superman just stands before it and it bounces away like a playball. I mean buildings fall down, Batmobile or not he would die in an instance if this battle would even be remotely close to him. - Bruce had no time to loose, his employees were in danger. - Bruce doesn't want the world to know he and Batman are the same. He can't help everyone, thousands of people died in that battle. And then Batman would be helping the people in Wayne financial? - the Batman suit protects his identity and protects him from small arms fire. Non of those things were necessary for helping his people. I hope that answers your question.
What I find awesome is the fighter pilot's skills. Even after getting pulled down by the unusual gravity and his jet rolling all over the place, he managed to steady his place in the end. It was a shame it was already too low among the buildings and he got destroyed. Very realistic and cool take by Snyder.
@@RealGateGuardian keep believing what you are fed, sheep. That's how you got us into this mess called 'Justice League'. And they never told him. They used his mourning break as PR. Don't believe everything you read, son.
One of the many reasons why I love DC films because they have serious moments like these with heavy consequences and scenes that are memorable. The Dark Knight trilogy had many memorable scenes and so does Man of Steel, Wonder Woman and Batman v Superman.
I only just realized this now but the rubble that Bruce saves the little girl from at 12:10 is in the shape of a cross. The movies directly explore Superman as this Christ/God like figure but I just love what it showcases in this particular moment. What does Superman's impact on humanity look like? Bruce's mission to protect humanity from this "God", the questions on God's morality and existence. All these motifs are constant throughout the film's characters, stories and visuals. If this choice for the cross was intentional, what a subtle but really great attention to detail!
More than that, even. After 9/11, there was a famous picture of a piece of the rubble in the shape of a cross. Many people had many different interpretations of what that meant, but the interpretation concerned in this scene is, "God moves in mysterious ways." Yes, 9/11 happened, but all this is part of God's plan. The first time you watch this scene in Man Of Steel (not this version that merges the two of course), what do you suppose Batman's doing during all this? He might as well be playing the violin on the soundtrack for all the good he could do. What, is he gonna, like, hide in the shadows and then throw a flashbang and knock out the collapsing buildings with a kung fu blow? Is he gonna launch a flying spinning ninja kick on the Gravity Hammer and Judo flip the World Engine? There's just very little use at this point for the kind of heroism Batman can bring to the scene. You know what kind of hero we need? We need the average kind. We need the bravery of anybody willing to run towards the disaster instead of away from it. Whether a couple of newspaper publishers or a silver-spoon prissy-pants richie rich boy like Bruce Wayne, if you can pull rubble off a trapped victim or help a lost child get back with their class, you're ten times the hero Batman ever could be right here. Bruce Wayne sees that cross-shaped piece of rubble. If not for him, it would have smashed that little girl, and nothing anybody could do, human or Kryptonian, could get her parents back. Bruce Wayne glares at the heavens with a righteous fury in his eyes burning hotter than any Heat Vision. If all this horror and misery and destruction and trauma is "part of God's plan", than God is a dangerous lunatic who needs to be stopped. ... (read this last line in the voice of Hamill's Joker, except switch to Heath Ledger's Joker voice for the last two words) ... And who in all the world is better at stopping dangerous lunatics then... the Batman?
On thing I love about man of steel is that they have civilians in the movie...nowadays superhero movies feel like there are just superheroes in an empty world.
And now you can see how hard DC tried to make these two movies great. They didn’t miss this single detail. I feel so bad about how they messed their franchise up with SS and JL
"They're turning Earth into Krypton." Knowing now that General (later Senator) Swanwick is Martian Manhunter, he must have seen similar Kryptonian technology before. Otherwise, how would he even know what Krypton is or that's where Superman and Zod (along with his army) came from?
Celaldoğan Güneş On Vero a couple of months ago I think, idk if he said it straight up but he definitely teased at it. So he’ll definitely show up as MM in ZSJL
It was so funny when I first heard that line. "Wait... they never even said they were from Krypton or Kryptonians, how the hell does he know this?" And then Zack with his beautiful reveal. Rewatching Man of Steel with the knowledge that MM is RIGHT THERE was beautiful
This is scary, I don’t know what I would do in this situation, what’s worse is that Superman and Zod are so small, just regular sized humanoids, so most people probably couldn’t see what is destroying the city, and you won’t know where to go to avoid it because they can travel so fast 🥲😢
People forget this superman is still learning of his powers and fighting style, this superman done remarkable well to counter Zod. In BvS I would say there was a mix of restraint and complacency in his battle with batman but I really hope Cavill stays on as superman their is so much to explore about the man of tomorrow including his characterisation and his powers.

I'm a fan of Marvel more than DC but man, the destruction of Metropolis is amazing like the Battle of Smallville, I love MoS and BvS. What the hell happened Warner? Justice League is very far from everything that was achieved with MoS (large scale destruction, civilian deaths, an incredible villain). Wonder Woman and Aquaman are great: I hope for the good of the DCEU and all the fans that MoS 2 and Green Lantern Corps will arrive soon.
Zack Snyder wanted injustice... once warner bros found out they got rightfully extremely pissed, answered him by saying they literally run their toy lines, cartoons, comic books always around the injustice multiverse and they're sick of it. How can you have injustice without making a comparable character in the main universe (darkseid). That's what zack Snyder tried todo. you can't just make superman a dictator for the injustice/Justice league Unlimited reasons of "he snapped and killed a villain" there needs to be back story leading up to the split of the timelines creating injustice and the regular justice league timelines. This is so brilliantly put together. One part that stands out to me is 9:05. That voiceover of “have mercy on my soul” while Zod writhes in pain from the lasers coming out of his eyes is chilling.
Actually this is not how a alien invasion looks like. This is how a invasion Battle with significant weapons looks like. Modern weapons today could cause horrific damage to a city in a small scale of time. The difference here is that the ones in battle are capable of great feats of strength and endurance so they perform the same thing. A movie that shows a good scale of a invasion force is ironically the Alien Invasion movie Battle Los Angeles. The Aliens were likely a couple decades to a least a century ahead of us but conventionally used weapons very similar to us and through the battle you see the gradual destruction of the city as the aliens and human army razed it to the ground
This was hands down the greatest edit I’ve ever seen. If I’d never seen either movie, I’d have guessed this was just a scene from one movie, not two movies stitched together. Phenomenal job.
We have seen other heroes trying to get the enemy away from cities to avoid this amount of destruction, but it was superman’s first serious battle, and Zods purpose was to create as much destruction as possible, because he sought vengeance. So yes, it makes sense that Zod decided to fight in the city, it makes sense that the destruction had worldwide consequences. This is the reason Clark’s father was afraid, he knew humanity wouldn’t understand Kal at first sight, and in Batman v Superman, we saw the global consequences of the introduction of Superman to mankind.
Say what you want about DC and Snyder. This scene was well done in terms of showing two distinct perspectives. I can’t think of another movie that has done this, at least to this extent. The fact you put the scene from 2 movies together and it actually works is amazing. Credit to the editors for getting the timing right.
@@TheShadowSentinel "Superman destroyed half of the city in his battle with Zod. Let's worship him like he's a fucking god." The government created a statue in his name. Declared him a hero. To the rest of the world Superman helped avert a disaster. Thousands might have died in Metropolis but the rest of the world was saved. Many people naturally would be grateful. But not everyone worships him. In the film we see many who hate him. How about that man who lost his legs and paints false god at the statue? How about the scientist on television who warns people not to blindly follow an icon. How about the senator who wants to keep him in check. When he comes down to testify we see a large crowd of people demonstrating that Superman has no place on earth. We see a group of Mexicans worshiping him. But this is only after he floats down from a burning building. Looking like a God. Many Mexicans are strictly religious. It's not strange that in that moment they perceive Superman as a God. "Or this Martha bs." I guess you did understand what they were trying to do with the Martha thing? You probably think its badly written. I can't argue with you on that, that is subjective. I would like to defend it a bit, but feel free to ignore my rambling. The Ultimate Edition goes to great length in showing us how traumatized Bruce Wayne is by his parents death. The opening sequence has Bruce Wayne talking about it in his dream, as if it happened yesterday. Later we see him have another nightmare. Bruce is visiting the grave of his parents. Bruce takes anti depressants to get through the day. There is a picture of his father in his office. Whatever you may think of the Martha thing, you can't deny the film works very hard to build the tragedy around Bruce Wayne's character. Therefor whatever you may think, you can understand that hearing the name Martha, especially since it was his fathers last word, would trigger something for Bruce. But why would Clark say it? Clark has his own opinion about Bruce Wayne. When the employee paints false god on the statue, and Clark sees it on television he hears the employee say "I work for Bruce Wayne". Then when Clark meets Bruce Wayne at the party of Lex, he hears Bruce Wayne compare him to a "freak dressed like a clown" who gets honors for "saving cats out of trees". During their fight he hears Bruce say, "You're not brave, men are brave" and "You're no god, you're not even a man". So Clark understands Bruce hates the alien. Bruce wants to kill the alien. And in that moment all he can think about is say "save Martha" as in save the human. You may kill me, but you'll also be killing a human. That's my defense. But its up to you to decide if you buy something or not. I can't change that. It saddens me that you hate the film.
@@cill521 "You may kill me, but you'll also be killing a human" well, it makes superman even more despicable character, tbh. Now i would like to see a pov of someone on that floor of said building plus people on the street below.......
@@aishikmukherjee8438 I thought you don't love snyder and yet, you love this scene.
I guess you have a mixed feeling...
And like he couldn't save his parents.
cill521 wow. That was fantastic

cill521 i wonder why he didny put on his suit i mean i know that its kryptonians but if he had his suit he could have helped more people with batmobil and stuff he could have atleast tried or aided superman
@@slurp3194 Here a couple of reasons why that would make no sense to me
- He doesn't know Superman.

If this choice for the cross was intentional, what a subtle but really great attention to detail!
it also reminds me of a certain salad 🥗 but don't quote me on that.
@@SkylineGuy Can't deny a good salad

Hope they don’t make shit anymore now that we lost bats and sups
Green lantern Corps are in Justice league not the josstice league
Zack Snyder wanted injustice... once warner bros found out they got rightfully extremely pissed, answered him by saying they literally run their toy lines, cartoons, comic books always around the injustice multiverse and they're sick of it. Zack Snyder diagreed, so inturn they kicked him off the team
Me too i'm a big fan of both .Warner bros is going to far from this. This movie is a perfect start for rebooting whole DC movies but they fucked up after JL.For me ,MOS is the best superheroes movie that i've ever seen even i had already watched alls of marvel movie which included end game
Like superman saving the world a couple times before introducing that time splitting event(flash dying)
I’m a huge Marvel fan and never got into the DC movies but I have to say, this was very very well edited and was actually amazing.

9:00 jack praying while zod screaming in the background is some the boys level ironic and scary almost.
11:44 Keefe yelling in pain in the background while Superman is flying around engaging in a giant fantastical battle to save the earth unbeknownst to the ground level realistic destruction of lives and families that's been happening is also scary but poetic.
Now think that Superman is actually able to hear all the people's suffering at ground level, so that editing is actually genius imo.

I feel like in these hero movies, you don't often see the panic of the people during these massive fights/events. Seeing the people panic and run, it's a tense moment and seriously terrifying when you imagine what they're going through.
The scene were Bruce holds the girl and looks at superman with hatred in his eyes, is probably the most powerfull scene in all of Comicbook based films. period . Everything was done brilliant, Ben's acting, the music, the emotions. Everything.

Say what you want 'bout DC, but you can't deny how dark Snyder's vision was. I love it
damn I just realized how good they edited batman v superman to match all this and of course the creator of this
This is so brilliantly put together. One part that stands out to me is 9:05. That voiceover of “have mercy on my soul” while Zod writhes in pain from the lasers coming out of his eyes is chilling.
This is what an alien invasion looks like and the outcome, not bunch of guys passing forced jokes !
The Aliens were likely a couple decades to a least a century ahead of us but conventionally used weapons very similar to us and through the battle you see the gradual destruction of the city as the aliens and human army razed it to the ground
thanos... XDD LOL
yeah because you know what an alien invasion would look like...
true
Technically Tony only does this if the situation ain't too serious
Well said😎🍻😎
To the critics and all the haters of BvS:
"People hate what they don't understand"
Shut up and just enjoy the movie dude come on man.
Say what you want about DC and Snyder. This scene was well done in terms of showing two distinct perspectives. I can’t think of another movie that has done this, at least to this extent. The fact you put the scene from 2 movies together and it actually works is amazing. Credit to the editors for getting the timing right.
Except everything else sucked ass. Story, dialogue, etc.
@@TheShadowSentinel Any examples?
@@cill521 Superman destroyed half of the city in his battle with Zod. Let's worship him like he's a fucking god. Or this Martha bs.
@@TheShadowSentinel "Superman destroyed half of the city in his battle with Zod. Let's worship him like he's a fucking god."
The government created a statue in his name.
"Or this Martha bs."
I guess you did understand what they were trying to do with the Martha thing?
Also, why I should bother myself with some special edition to understand something that was supposed to be in theatre version? Cyborg fans will be pleased since he's getting more screentime and having his arc more flech out
Black suit superman is confirmed and he will be wearing it throughout his screentime and extended fight scene between him and JL is confirmed as well
