Lily I’m 23 no where near even thinking about wanting kids, but I’ve been watching you since I was 16 and I think the creators that stand the test of time are the ones that let their content grow with them. Watching you prepare for the baby has been so much fun! You seem so invested in the content you’re making and that really is what counts. Also! all the small stuff is very cute ☺️

I totally agree with you. Have been following Lily for like 6 years now and she s the one that I feel is the most passionate and indeed she often have new content new things to talk about. She is evolving like we all do in life . some UA-camrs , that I no longer follow, are on their 200 episodes of Get Ready With Me (boring) .

You look absolutely glowing Lily! I’m nowhere near getting pregnant as I’m still at uni, but I find all your baby related content very interesting, and I mean, how cute is baby stuff?! And I think most people really appreciate your honesty about pregnancy, we definitely need more mums to be like you! xx

I have the Tiba & Marl changing bag - the pouch is honestly SO handy for your adult stuff, nothing worse than fishing through all baby’s stuff for your keys in the rain!

  • @louiseobrien9023

I would use the little pouch for a change of clothes for the baby. You always need a spare vest, outfit & socks for the poo explosions that might happen! Oh the joys!
Also in Ireland our babies wear a vest every day! So under a babygro or under their outfit. We could never have enough vests!

I’ve got a 5month old and am loving remembering pregnancy and getting organized through watching your videos. If it’s helpful my son loves the Swaddle Up bags. When he was small I opted for the 1.0 tog bags because you can kind of use them in all temperatures. You can put them in less clothes if it’s warm and more blankets if it’s cold. Then if she likes it and it’s really hot you can get one in the tog down. Hope that’s helpful. Really enjoying your realness about pregnancy and excitement for meeting your little girl.

So very excited for you! Worth mentioning not all babies like to be swaddled. My little one hated it and it took us a while to figure out that it was the swaddling. He much preferred starfishing even as a newborn!

So many lovely things. Top tip pack your baby changing bag now without a baby in tow. I did it and best decision: nappies, wipes, nappy bags, sudocream, steriliser bags for microwave, spare clothes, dummies even if you don’t use. Bibs, muslins, small blanket and Infacol x

The love to dream swaddles were amazing! My son hated being swaddled so the first 6 weeks we used those and he loved them. We live in a hot country so just used the original one with a thin vest top underneath and that seemed fine. He then transitioned into baby grows with a vest underneath and seems to love stretching out while he sleeps. The haakaa is also great for breastfeeding, you can use it as a gentle pump or wear it on one side while feeding baby and you catch any milk that’s otherwise wasted. General advice seems to be to wait until 6 weeks to introduce a bottle and dummy but my friends that did that said it was too late. We gave both straight away and now he happily takes both bottle and breastfeeds and he’s given up his dummy naturally at 3 months (it was most needed at newborn stage to help soothe anyway). The dr brown bottles are good, if you plan on using and breastfeeding though make sure you just leave newborn nipples with slow flow on them. Hope this helps x

So cute! I think if you feel the urge to buy more clothes, try the next size up? Might be harder to think of when she'd be in which size (maybe sisters can help with that? My son was always double his age until 4 because he was tall), but can never go wrong with sleepers or those tees that do up (I refer to them as onesies but I think that's sleepers for some). So excited for you guys 💜

  • @cslheawood

Babies do run warm, they can overheat easily and if we have another hot summer here then little bubbs will most likely be in just a vest. You can layer vests with leggings and a cardigan if you need to or a cute top and great in a poo explosion as they kinda keep it in that area whilst you panic how you’re going to undress them! Awww it makes me nostalgic and think about becoming a mum, it’s such a special time. I loved having my four babies, getting everything ready for the birth and now I’m a nan nan I can love it all over again❤️ You’ll be a great mum x

Great video Lily - I swear by baby Mori sleeping bags, they are so soft. And I used my Tiba and Marl clutch bag for extra nappies, baby mat, wipes and bags so I didn’t need to take my whole backpack to the bathroom every time I went to the baby change, great to hand quickly to husband too when he goes to the baby change 💁🏻‍♀️

Fantastic :). I loved dressing my daughter in colourful things and blue and was surprised by how many people commented and assumed she was a boy because she wasn’t wearing pink. Hopefully times have changed?

    • @charlottecoulson2421
      @charlottecoulson2421 5 років тому

Nope.... not that much, my 18 month old has often been referred to as a boy when wearing blue, even if it's a blue dress with flowers on. People do just tend to look at the colour and assume. However it doesn't bother me that much really, it's not malicious and it can be difficult to tell what sex a small baby is

I enjoyed this even though my boys are now three and I live in Australia so have never heard of some of those brands. Honestly sometimes friends give too much advice. Yes babies live in baby grows (we call them jumpsuits) but leggings and a vest are just as quick to put on and look super cute if you go on an outing. And then if it’s cool, just pop a cardigan or little jumper on her. I love your channel.

I love pjs from Next! They have feet and mittens built in, and come in multi packs. They have some really cute prints too! And they are very soft.
Also, hm have really great leggings with feet on them. The struggle of keeping socks on a baby 🙈
I absolutely loved buying clothes for our baby. I was nauseous my whole pregnancy (and two months after the birth), so I found shopping to be one of the few things I actually really enjoyed. People kept telling me that I had too much stuff. But we ended up using it all! My philosophy was that I didn’t want to do laundry everyday, so I bought a lot of basics.
My daughter will be one in June, and shopping for her is still great fun. I’m enjoying dressing her in what I like while I can, I’m sure she’ll refuse to wear what I want soon enough 🙈

Hi Lily! Love your content and so happy for you and Rich! Thank you for putting out quality videos, love your honesty and how open you are. Just wanted to post a comment for the people who can't have a baby just yet for different reasons (even though they'd love to). I've always been very maternal and can't wait to become a mum. I got into a relationship and we adore each other but he's decided he doesn't want children. So we had to break up which is the most difficult thing I've ever done. I've been having a hard time watching your videos as it's a bit painful but at the same time I've been watching you for years and I am genuinely interested in the topic so don't want to stop following you.
Recently however, I made the decision to just focus on myself instead of the lost future with him. I don't want to suppress my feelings towards babies, that's the whole point of the breakup - now I can be excited about the idea of a future family again even though it's not with him (I'm sure the right person will come along soon). So I'm feeling much better and slowly accepting that I will have a family in the future, it's just wasn't meant to be this time. I'll surely rewatch your videos when the time comes :)

Not sure about the backpack for a newborn baby stage, but it depends on your lifestyle. I spend the first 6 months outside with a stroller so a regular bag with easy access was a win! I have the Skiphop duo signature and it has genious pocket for you phone, I just love it☺👍

We used those Grobags from day one. They were ace. I just had one warm and one cool version and that was fine for an April baby. Worked for us cause our baby didn’t like swaddling so she had her arms popped out from day one. In the high summer we found a really nice muslin material sleeping bag which was ace when we had those heatwaves.

I have that baby book as well! Its really good (and very popular in Denmark). My cousin bought it for my son... She thought he would be a girl haha. Honestly I get really annoyed when people say that putting baby in leggings and vests or “outfits” is a faff and not something people do - I completely disagree, my baby boy had his baby grows for PJs and every morning I would change his outfit and install the idea that a new day has started and honestly I believe that is the reason he is such a good sleeper, from when he was a newborn I got to teach him night/day. As well as enjoy putting him in cute outfits. Plus cute outfits does not mean outfits that aren’t comfortable for baby

lalayshen so true! Baby grows are strictly his pjs and at 3 months my son sleeps through the night! Plus leggings in newborn size were so ridiculously small and cute! It’s a nice routine though getting them up and opening the curtains and getting them dressed. I really think it does help

If you feel you’ve bought to many clothes just start getting toddler clothes. You will need them eventually and you get to keep shopping

Good vid! Lines and stripes seemed to be a baby fashion trend. 😅

You’ll find what works for you. From the second you announce you are pregnant you tumble into the opinionated world of motherhood. The best advice I was given was to ignore everyone’s advice 😆. Xx

The Etta loves sensory muslins and wash cloths are amazing plus the totter and tumble playmats. If you like baby MORI you should sign up to their sleep club where you are sent one every month for the right age and it’s like £15 a month, it’s been great for us. I’ve got the Tiba and Marl Miller backpack and it’s amazing. Ewan the dream sheep is also a godsend! Would definitely recommend him too.

Surely you'll still need vests to put under the baby grows., vests and leggings are easier than any other outfit in my opinion isn't a faff at all x

I don’t think leggings are a faff! My two boys have lived in them. My 7 month wears them all the time. Just not in the newborn days! Good luck with it all Lily 💗💗💗

Sorry but "special pieces" are pointless till about 6 months. The poo, dribble and puke and they are too small for things to hang well and actually look nice. For all of you guys who are on a tighter budget, don't bother about buying anything expensive or dressy till they're at least 6 months. Also, family and friends often get you more special stuff and you can just focus on the essentials :)
