The bari sax at 5:00 was a student intern for my jazz band in 2020 and made fun of me for not being able to play very loud. I grew 8 inches taller since then and I can play much louder now Jace.
question r_p… What company used to record these marching band cams before flomarching and box5? Did they used to sell dvd’s back then or how do people have recordings from these years?
Mr. Video, and yes, they used to sell DVDs until someone started arguing about music rights and got it shut down. It was such a shame. The bands already pay for the right to perform it, but the composers own the copyrights so they can do what they want. I assume they just didn’t want Mr. Video to make a profit off their music. It seems like they could make an exception for music education. The DVDs were a great momento for the kids.
@@sandyc653Their DVDs were prohibitively expensive for low-income families. That was a huge issue I took with Mr. Video. I understand we have to credit the composers, but honestly I am more supportive of the democratization of the marching arts than gate keeping and paywalling students, alumnus, and fans from access to these memories.
