The C flat maj7 arpeggio over the Absus is just treating the Ab as a minor 7. Major 7 arpeggio a minor 3rd up from the root of a minor 7th, happens all the time.
Awesome video. As usual. I have a question. What are some records that Charlie Allen is on? I can't find a thing. Does he have his own records? Seems like he would. I only know him from YT and Instagram.
Hi Technically those are not really 7sus4 chords - they are more like Bb major over C (9) and F# major over A flat (9). the key is correct G minor. A C7sus4 chord is G,F,Bb,C. So G minor. Ab7sus4 chord is Eb,Ab,C#,F#
for me a Bb/C chord is the same thing as a C7sus49 chord :) i don´t know if the " g" really needs to be in this chord .. the G dorian scale is for a good way to improvise over this chord
@@tinajackel I love the dorian over modal stuff - gets you way form the pentatonic. - also try the 7sus4 shape vamp all over the neck using the 5 root notes of any pentatonic per Robben Ford with Miles Davis.
Beautiful to see you with a Fender SC...it tells me more of how jazz is not about a semi-acoustic guitar!
I'm loving your lessons so much. Just amazing. Please continue.
Thank you, I will
Good lesson, thank you! You sound real good on that Stratocaster!
You’re literally the coolest guitarist ever
Enjoyed the sounds, thanks for posting!
You're playing at the start of this video has a SUPER FUNKY feel; I dig it.
Your Stratocaster sounds lovely...I love those Sus4 chords. Steve Cropper used them to great effect on Soul Man. Great lesson, thanks.
Brilliant!! More Charlie Allen please 🙏
Just wanted to pop in and just say your tone is great on a strat!
Thank you for this video!
Great video. Please continue to share amazing content. And it's a great looking guitar. Nice vintage looks and tones.

yes over an Abm7 that would be very common - but i find it interesting to use the same concept on an Ab7sus4 :)
Die Strat klingt super!
danke! ich verkauf jetzt alle meine gitarren und spiel nur noch strat oder doch tele ? ;)
@@tinajackel ... Why? Don't you still like your ibanez?
