    Thanks for the time and effort you put into this video. You can imagine we spend years working on these things always wondering what people will think of them...so, we're always happy when we finally see them getting used and abused. RE: Your point about not being a professional reviewer... in our opinion that's what makes most UA-camrs great reviewers. "Professional" reviewers are often trying to justify their professionalism by talking about thinks that "mere mortals" can't comprehend. Having the opinion of some dude who loves to ride bikes (and has ridden a bunch) is much more useful to the average Joe. Anyway... keep on riding it, keep on enjoying it...

      the only thing that really worries me before buying this bike is the stack/ head tube length, it's really really high, especially in the biggest sizes, I would have LOVED this bike if it could be slammed just a little bit more

      说真的,你们的G2就是个半成品,而且价格溢价高。作为一个中国骑友,我不会再买你们的产品了。

    Just going to accept that its more compliant no intention to find out why - thats completely brilliant and at last a reviewer for the common man who just enjoys riding bikes, thankyou - really thankyou.

    Thanks for the shout out. Definitely went pretty data-heavy on the unboxing.. 😆
    Don’t know about you, the only issue I had was the internal shift cable guides seemed reversed? Had to wrestle with them for a bit to swap them. Not too big a deal though.
    Great video!

      Yes i totally did the same thing. took everything out so that both my rear brake cable and the rear shift cable entered in the same side!

      @@Spindatt Ok, nice. Was half-doubting myself for a while there.

    I thought this the best review I've seen in a while. All the "stuff" does not mean much unless you can compare it to something else and you did a great job of that.

    You were my first:), Eric…! (review of this bike;). Won’t be looking for another, really, your non-reviews are my favorite haha;). Have fun!!

    I would bet the “actual” seat tube angle is slacker than the 73.5 degrees from the geo chart. It would be interesting to measure with a digital angle finder :)

    I built a 29er chinois carbon frame-best bicycle I’ve ever ridden. Sold it for a profit and bought the sub $500 Mongoose Grit adventure bike. Six bottle cage mounts but room for 2.1” 29ers!!! My 2.25 will rub with heavy torque. Stuck a Bafang 500W rear hub motor on it. Now I have a dropbar mtg bike ready for about anything. Enjoying your UA-cam content.

      Sweet. Would the Grit take a GRX double chainset, or single or MTB chainset (with higher q factor)?

    I appreciate the blind geometry experiment attempt. I always like to know the offset with the head-tube angle--or the interaction of those 2 variables-trail. tells me more compete information about front-end handling.

    I’ve got a Poseidon X, with all the upgrades. I can pretty much take everything off and put it on this bike. Very on the mark with that idea.

    Cool review Eric! I usually do not finish bike review videos, but did yours.
    I am finding the parts to build a rigid 55, or 96er, or 69er, or whatever you want to call it. Seems to be a great project for early 26" suspension fork bikes.

    Liking the build vid along with this one. Would a Sram Rival 2x axs 43/30T fit? There doesn’t seem too much gap from the chainstay which looks very low

    Looking between small and medium. Winspace Said medium but small geo size similar to my 54cm SL7

    It’a funny cause you’re not wrong when you said that “ from an x and a redwood willing to try out something lighter “. That’s what I’m doing right now. Lol. Idk why, but it felt like my chro mo redline gravel build just felt awkwardly heavy but when I went to an retro mtb, it just felt night and day. But the compliance and vibration absorption of the chromo will be missed, weight wise, Ehhh. 😅🤣

    On the sizing issues, it's hard to get a good read on which is the right size for this frame. I'm 181 cm (5'11ish), some brands I ride a 56, some a 54 (Giant's M/L size), you kinda look around the same size-ish, the medium still working for you?
    Also, nice to see some Nova Scotia bike content on youtube. Always enjoy riding there when I get back home in the summers.

    Your Crux is ~3 cm taller, this is why you are more comfy on the G2. Crux has a race geometry vs endurance on the G2.

    Maybe the seat tube angle is measured from the BB to end of seat tube
    The actual seat tube seems to have a weird bend... Cool bike

    • @TheFullKanani
      @TheFullKanani 3 роки тому

      I think you described effective seat tube angle, which takes into account bends in the seat tube which don’t matter. For performance purposes the only thing that matters is BB to end of seat tube as you pointed out.

    • @kimkrimson
      @kimkrimson 3 роки тому +1

      @@TheFullKanani exactly. Thank you for the explanation. But the actual angle dictates how much force is perpendicular to the tube direction and makes it flex. It is not important for bike handling but for comfort.

    Immagine owning a company that builds bike frames, hiring specialist to build a project, all the studies and comparisons to produce your best item,material and assembly process, shipping one of their product to a youtuber and the outcome:
    Yeah, it's comfy, idk why check out other reviews!
    Ahahahahah

    Hey, Could you or would you race a cross race on this? I’m looking for that perfect combo of gravel and cx geo. Right now I have a cx and a gravel bike (and a road bike and an xc mtb and a vintage conversion project…). I don’t race cx seriously, just the casual pick up race here and there. I’ve heard the Open upper makes a good gravel/cx combo but I don’t want to spend that kind of cash. So, would you (Spindatt) race this bike on a cx course ?

    I ride my early -00 MTB totally rigid and my love handles are getting bruized just by cycling in town, but I have yet to ride a more responsive frame to date. My retro steel MTB frames are also not that comfortable to be honest.
