I love what you are doing with your farm.
Direct marketing, along with your own energy and passion, will be key to your success.
My parents attempted regular farming and failed miserably. While that was failing they started a direct marketing u pick operation that turned out to be wildly successful. The best marketing they ever did was offering field trips to the farm at the local schools. Kids would come out with their school during the week and bring their parents back on the weekends.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE VIDEO!! My husband and I have been watching you for a little over a year and a half now. You have inspired him to want to start a small farm. While we are not "there yet", I have been wondering how my skills can help. I have worked in broadcast media (TV and radio) for about 20 years. I've been saying for years how important marketing and advertising is for ALL businesses. I deeply appreciate your advice in this video and I plan to drive to your farm market soon (from the Columbus area) to buy your grits to show my support. My hubby says to tell you he would love to pick your brain and even work for you for a bit to learn more from you, if you needed any help.

You started talking grinding corn for grits.. I giggled a little..I spent most of the afternoon grinding grits for supper and decided, this is a lot of work, so I did a couple batches ahead, and got the in the freezer. I know, they are only good for 3 months in the freezer...I will force myself to cook them...😆This morning, I ground some wheat and made bagels for breakfast. I think you will do well, Patrick. Blakely resident here. I'm very glad we got rain today... you're right it was greatly needed. I'm surprised it took youtube this long to recommend your channel to me. I'm glad that it did, though. I had meant to go and buy peas this year, but life got in the way and I couldn't make time before you guys sold out. I wondered for a long time what that Back Light business was. Interesting to see the whole process by watching your videos. I'll be sure to be on the lookout for the grits come the 20th and onward.

Love the content - Started watching Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime, and got really interested in seeing how it's done, and you do such a great job of showing us.
But on the subject of marketing... I understand you only have 10.9k subs right now, and some are people like me in Ontario, Canada and will probably never be able to visit your farm shop. But still, you should use this channel to promote it more. You mention the Farm shop.. Ok, I know you are located somewhere in Georgia, but that's all I know. What time of year is it open? Is it year round? What are the hours? You mention a website - May or may not be setup yet, but you should provide the URL, even if just in the video description or a little splash screen at the start or end of the videos.
Just my 2 cents - Thanks again for the amazing videos.

Follow up question to an older video, I just finished an episode of Farm4Profit podcast and I was wondering if you believe in the existence of what they referred to as Yield Lag? Especially with your experiments with various methodologies in growing i.e. no till, spray free, non-GMO, etc., etc. As a practical man trying various things to get the best product you can, I was wondering if you are experiencing that and if you intend to keep the regen-ag experiment going to help determine if the yields increase or not? I'm relatively new to the channel so I don't know how long you have been trying it until now, so forgive me if I am not fully aware.
I appreciate your content and love all your videos! I'll keep watching them, if you keep making them. God bless!

@@SeanSweeney-vm2kk thanks for watching & commenting. My father was very successful with strip tilling cotton into harvested wheat stubble. You can call it cover crop, but technically it was double crop b/c we harvested both crops. His yields in that scenario were consistently higher than his traditional tillage yields….but not necessarily b/c of the regen aspect. Traditional tillage cotton is planted as soon as ground is warm enough to chance it. Strip till into wheat stubble is planted a month and a half later when we are sustaining 90 degree weather, so that cotton takes off growing immediately. He did really well on no-till cotton once. I’ve never heard of anyone else accomplishing that. We have primarily red clay here. Rains pack clay. The longer the ground goes untilled the harder it gets. Despite what some say, that effect does not reverse over time it just keeps getting harder. I concluded a 5 year no-till trial recently. Video is on my channel. The field was harder than asphalt and even grass was having difficulty growing. I am not pro-till or anti-till I am pro staying in business, which means constantly experimenting to find ways to cut input cost and/or raise yields. This is true for nearly every farmer. The one thing I do different than most is constant expansion of direct to end consumer marketing of crops.
