I just don't feel like he fits in as an Assassin Creed protagonist, he feels to big and clunky kind of like eivor but turned up to 11. I think games in general have an issue with seasons (outside of Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley) where the gameplay differences are exciting when it comes to winter, but the other 3 practically have zero difference which can apply to the gameplay of AC Shadows. I'm hoping Ubi have made an effort to differentiate them, I can guess more frequent or harder rainstorms in Spring, maybe more leaf piles to hide in Autumn and the leaves creating noise similar to the nightingale floors. Maybe some guards could be wearing less armour in the summer due to the heat?
I think I'll stick to playing Naoe. Not because of the Yasuke hate, but because i think her kit and abilities fit more into the Assassin's Creed vibe which i've gotten used to through the years. Curious about the modern day story though. Heard they cooked up something new but still haven't seen anything regarding that.

Odyssey was ever lasting game. hope shadows is same. i want to cintinue to play in japan. hopefully has 2 big dlc later. hope really successful.
During your playtime, have you encountered anything associated with Hattori Hanzo? Is he a member of the league?(the brotherhood) I know he existed at the same time as Nobunaga, and in previous (possibly retconned) AC lore, Hanzo was established as a member of the Japanese Brotherhood.
There were so many outfits in this build already! This one was likely an endgame one, I guess it might hint at Yasuke having had to deal with Templars in the past... maybe?
Not the whole "whole game", as in, both Yasuke and Naoe will have dedicated missions, story elements and side activities that can be played only as them. But overall, the devs said you can play 90% of the game as one character!
Only 2 slots for transmog? Headgear and shoulders to the rest of your body. So that means no separate pants or shoes, gloves, etc. Likely means you can't hide armor pieces either like in Valhalla.
@@AccessAnimus Sorry I think I misunderstood. You have one slot that is the helmet, and the other slot is the rest of the outfit. You can hide both the helmet and the entire outfit if you wanted?

Ayyy thank you so much! That really means a lot! I'm gonna say it feels lighter and easier to move and play if you are playing as Naoe, surely way more freedom of movement than playing as Jin. As for Yasuke, you do feel heavier and slower for sure. In general the game feels a little less colorful, it seems like it has more types of side activities but at times the world feels emptier. And as for combat, I'm gonna say there are different types of complexity. Ghost is maybe a bit more complex in terms of actual gameplay while Shadows goes way more in depth in terms of weapon types and combat customization thanks to the perks and skills you can unlock
So it seems that the use of the birds has been replaced by the observe mechanic. Also, is double assassination a skill or is it unlocked from the start?
Yep, we are the eagles now, basically, it feels a little more personal, like you are discovering. And Double Assassination is a skill like most other special assassinations!
Yeah, I feel like the story will be pretty lackluster. I mean it's the same team that made Syndicate and Odyssey. Those games had the least memorable stories of the franchise.
When Noaa yells at Yasuke when they fight and says “ you slaughtered innocents” Yasuke pins her down and then he sees the hidden blade she has and was concerned about it and I think that means he will end up becoming an Assassin
I think he recognises it from horror stories told by templars of shadows that kill without a trace. Think if the trailer of Altair where he kills a guy with a throwing knife was told as a warning story among fellow templars to watch their backs in the darkness

@@maxkroer1530Odyssey had this problem though of purples being better and you just get the engravings form the legendary gear to add to them anyway. I hope Legendaries are actually unique so if you want the power you have to use them.

I was really excited to play as Yasuke but can't climb for a shit. Shouts when assassinating put me off badly. Noe can do all that and still be good in a fight; his kind of pointless. The game is punishing you for a choice they are giving you. I'm still gonna play though
I've been playing AC since I was about 10; I'm 29 now. I've been playing since AC1. I've always been a fight-first, stealth-if-I-have-to player. The idea that he can't parkour and assassinate, can't reach any high places, kind of annoys the hell out of me. They made it viable to fight, good as noe, but give Yasuke mostly negatives; why would we want to play as him?

The combat looks ok but what's really putting me off buying this is the odyssey vibes I'm getting with the visible levels on the enemies etc now If you can turn all that off then I'd be interested

@@amitansurkar1769 Skyrim animations are bearable because A) they're a product of their times and B) everything still moves somewhat like they should. AC animations make them look more like donkeys, one of the horse "ankles" bends unnaturally during the slower run and it looks downright broken + we're talking about a game that has access to new freshest technology which should enable them to fix bad animations, hence it makes the animation even uglier in my head since I know it's a product of pure laziness

@@Grandtemplar305 I am not too sure to be honest, I still seem to be getting an Odyssey vibe that has been reskinned with a Japanese appearance, not impressed with the open combat, Yasuke is not a patch on Jin Sakai as he seems slow and boring. Maybe I still need to see more to be fully convinced that this game has its own identity
@ I am not! But naturaly its going to be as the two are comparable, but that said upon release I would hope the distinctions between the two would really show. So far from what I have seen I am more “ Meh “ rather than brimming with excitement, I just hope when I experience the final product ubisoft have done enough to change the formula from the ground up, which at first glance they have not.

*wow they done pretty good job on environment real life scale. but still my biggest disappointment is Yasuke can't do stealth, parkour & hidden blade kills. they should have start the game yasuke as a samurai & then middle if the story he became secret ninja & unlock parkour, stealth & hidden blade. if they done this, this game would be a huge comeback but otherwise it's boring.
I've watched a lot of previews, and honestly, with all the overwhelmingly negative feedback and the few positive points mentioned by those who participated, I'm more than disappointed. Although l've already said l'd form my own opinion, everything I've seen so far has completely discouraged me, to the point where don't even want to buy the $250 edition anymore. The criticisms of the abusive RPG elements in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, like health packs, chaotic combat, and unnecessarily huge loot, are not only back but seem to be a goal in themselves now. Honestly, it would be far better if the game were pushed to the end of the year, because with all this, Ubisoft is clearly heading for a monumental failure. And frankly, I'd also like to point out other negatives: the lack of impact from hits on enemies, the lack of fluidity in parkour, and the complete absence of intelligence in the Al. I'm honestly just disheartened.
What do you think about the modern day content? Did you find it "satisfying" or does it seem lazy? Does it evolve the modern day storyline? I ask as an hardcore fan, I'm afraid I'll be very disappointed from that point of view. In term of pure gameplay, the game seems great!
No animation for walking up stairs?!.. even AC Unity from 10 years ago had that.. adding so much detail, but forgetting to add a walking up and down stairs animation. Amazing. No walking up stairs animation makes the game look immediately like a ps3 game.
I watched about 10 previews. I went on and cancelled the Pre-Order my wife surprised me with. The game is still very unpolished... Lot of clipping through objects and animation delays. My main issue ( i have to agre with SkillUp, YOU and some other UA-camrs ) is that Yasuke is like a car without wheels. I wanted to buy this game because of him and his story. I couldnt care less about this Naoe stealth BS... I wanted to play as a Juggernaut but the game forces me in certain situations to go with Naoe because Yasuke who happens to be one of the main protagonists cant climb. The main protagonist of an AC game cant climb !!! They couldve make two different characters with different combat styles but the "same" basic gadgets so both can be used in every scenario. I waited years to realize that its not for me... To be honest this makes me really sad. I really needed this game...
I am really sorry to hear you feel that way, but if I were you I'd still give the game a try. It's true that not all things can be done by both characters, and not all locations can be reached by them (I wouldn't be surprised if there are rooms that Naoe can't access cause Yasuke has to break their doors), but there *is* going to be a story for Yasuke and you still *can* feel like a juggernaut as him in most situations. He's definitely not the "assassin-y" character of the two, but you still can enjoy part of the game as him even if the world seems to be more designed for Naoe.
Who cares about any of this without a compelling narrative to back it up? Just another historical game with some text and audio logs from the modern day to back it up. The narrative MUST start in the modern day and set the stage for the historical game. Why are we accessing the animus? What is abstergos main goal? What can we do to stop them? We need modern day missions intertwined with the historical missions to keep us invested in the ultimate mission. These games have zero narrative now and it’s time for a total reboot with a great compelling story with Desmond and William’s assassin cell.

Ubisoft isnt making good games anymore 1.) GR breaking point is one of worst shooting games i played by ubisoft. 2.) Valhalla is worst game as well and its first game i downloaded crack cause of negative reviews i didnt wanted to pay $50 for full game on sale, and reviews are right game is boring and so sad cant even play more than 10 hours. I played 13 hours maybe 3.) Far cry 6 is one of worst as well too big map and looks same copy paste things, finished story asap i could and deleted the game didnt even try to play sode missons or anything but story was bad too. I hope ubisoft will make good games rather than money snatching addons. I loved black flag orgins, odessy far cry 3, 4 ,5 new dawn, primal and will alwyas love them, i did played wildlands it was good, i got all these games on ps4 and pc both but i will buy old ac games like unity and others but i wont pay anymore for new games by ubisoft they never fix their bugs in games like far cry 5 reverse button isnt working on pcs. Ubisoft died thanks to their greed

I really like the parkour system in this game. It’s been a huge improvement over previous games, and it looks really cool.
Same! It's quite basic, it doesn't have additional movements or ingredients, but it does have more style and speed to it than previous games!

Yeah, that's the case, only two equipment slots (+ trinket). So you can hide these two but not subsets of them (like bracers only or shoes only)

They should really allow Yasuke to climb more surfaces and structures. Just make him very slow but make it possible.

She does! She has both a Charged / Postured Heavy Attack and a Postured Light Attack!

I was really excited to play as Yasuke but can't climb for a shit. Shouts when assassinating put me off badly. Noe can do all that and still be good in a fight; his kind of pointless. The game is punishing you for a choice they are giving you.

I've been playing AC since I was about 10; I'm 29 now. I've been playing since AC1. I've always been a fight-first, stealth-if-I-have-to player. The idea that he can't parkour and assassinate, can't reach any high places, kind of annoys the hell out of me. They made it viable to fight, good as noe, but give Yasuke mostly negatives; why would we want to play as him?

But still my friend i think the game will be a huge failure. To get my point i advice you to watch Bugland "Voilà la vérité sur le gameplay AC SHADOWS" put translation from youtube if you don't speak french. And by the way this content creator used to be invited before by Ubisoft but since he is someone who always speak his mind freely they skip him.
The combat looks ok but what's really putting me off buying this is the odyssey vibes I'm getting with the visible levels on the enemies etc now If you can turn all that off then I'd be interested
Not sure if you can turn off the leveling and progression systems... but maybe the visuals?
I'm more interested on canon mode gameplay. that's what I'm looking forward. I hope they'll update old AC too including Valhalla, Origins and Odyssey with canon mode too.

@@amitansurkar1769 Skyrim animations are bearable because A) they're a product of their times and B) everything still moves somewhat like they should. AC animations make them look more like donkeys, one of the horse "ankles" bends unnaturally during the slower run and it looks downright broken + we're talking about a game that has access to new freshest technology which should enable them to fix bad animations, hence it makes the animation even uglier in my head since I know it's a product of pure laziness

They also change automatically! It's just that these elements fast track them, so at times the season change is triggered by them

@@Grandtemplar305 I am not too sure to be honest, I still seem to be getting an Odyssey vibe that has been reskinned with a Japanese appearance, not impressed with the open combat, Yasuke is not a patch on Jin Sakai as he seems slow and boring.
Maybe I still need to see more to be fully convinced that this game has its own identity

So far from what I have seen I am more “ Meh “ rather than brimming with excitement, I just hope when I experience the final product ubisoft have done enough to change the formula from the ground up, which at first glance they have not.

They don't have them in this game. They have a battle pass in the animus hub though. The Infinity platform i mean.

*wow they done pretty good job on environment real life scale. but still my biggest disappointment is Yasuke can't do stealth, parkour & hidden blade kills. they should have start the game yasuke as a samurai & then middle if the story he became secret ninja & unlock parkour, stealth & hidden blade. if they done this, this game would be a huge comeback but otherwise it's boring.

I've watched a lot of previews, and honestly, with all the overwhelmingly negative feedback and the few positive points mentioned by those who participated, I'm more than disappointed. Although l've already said l'd form my own opinion, everything I've seen so far has completely discouraged me, to the point where don't even want to buy the $250 edition anymore.
The criticisms of the abusive RPG elements in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, like health packs, chaotic combat, and unnecessarily huge loot, are not only back but seem to be a goal in themselves now. Honestly, it would be far better if the game were pushed to the end of the year, because with all this, Ubisoft is clearly heading for a monumental failure.
And frankly, I'd also like to point out other negatives: the lack of impact from hits on enemies, the lack of fluidity in parkour, and the complete absence of intelligence in the Al. I'm honestly just disheartened.

No animation for walking up stairs?!.. even AC Unity from 10 years ago had that.. adding so much detail, but forgetting to add a walking up and down stairs animation. Amazing. No walking up stairs animation makes the game look immediately like a ps3 game.

I watched about 10 previews. I went on and cancelled the Pre-Order my wife surprised me with. The game is still very unpolished... Lot of clipping through objects and animation delays. My main issue ( i have to agre with SkillUp, YOU and some other UA-camrs ) is that Yasuke is like a car without wheels. I wanted to buy this game because of him and his story. I couldnt care less about this Naoe stealth BS... I wanted to play as a Juggernaut but the game forces me in certain situations to go with Naoe because Yasuke who happens to be one of the main protagonists cant climb. The main protagonist of an AC game cant climb !!! They couldve make two different characters with different combat styles but the "same" basic gadgets so both can be used in every scenario. I waited years to realize that its not for me... To be honest this makes me really sad. I really needed this game...

I am really sorry to hear you feel that way, but if I were you I'd still give the game a try. It's true that not all things can be done by both characters, and not all locations can be reached by them (I wouldn't be surprised if there are rooms that Naoe can't access cause Yasuke has to break their doors), but there *is* going to be a story for Yasuke and you still *can* feel like a juggernaut as him in most situations. He's definitely not the "assassin-y" character of the two, but you still can enjoy part of the game as him even if the world seems to be more designed for Naoe.

Who cares about any of this without a compelling narrative to back it up? Just another historical game with some text and audio logs from the modern day to back it up. The narrative MUST start in the modern day and set the stage for the historical game. Why are we accessing the animus? What is abstergos main goal? What can we do to stop them? We need modern day missions intertwined with the historical missions to keep us invested in the ultimate mission. These games have zero narrative now and it’s time for a total reboot with a great compelling story with Desmond and William’s assassin cell.

Ubisoft isnt making good games anymore
1.) GR breaking point is one of worst shooting games i played by ubisoft.
2.) Valhalla is worst game as well and its first game i downloaded crack cause of negative reviews i didnt wanted to pay $50 for full game on sale, and reviews are right game is boring and so sad cant even play more than 10 hours. I played 13 hours maybe
3.) Far cry 6 is one of worst as well too big map and looks same copy paste things, finished story asap i could and deleted the game didnt even try to play sode missons or anything but story was bad too.
I hope ubisoft will make good games rather than money snatching addons. I loved black flag orgins, odessy far cry 3, 4 ,5 new dawn, primal and will alwyas love them, i did played wildlands it was good, i got all these games on ps4 and pc both but i will buy old ac games like unity and others but i wont pay anymore for new games by ubisoft they never fix their bugs in games like far cry 5 reverse button isnt working on pcs. Ubisoft died thanks to their greed
