In the wake of the Honey fraud, does anyone have any actual evidence around how good or bad Ground News is? I did a quick search online and could only really find their marketing fluff. I love the idea that GN claims to present, but its hard to believe anything advertised on YT any more.
Hey Dan, been watching for a while, and love the show. Have a couple of requests for you. I see your sub count has gone up and I wondered if you could do an updated round-up of the players in Flat Earth. I know you did one a while ago but some of them haven't been heard from for a while (sleeping warrior and quantum eraser spring to mind) and some have passed on (I think some passed due to covid as they were also anti-vax but I may be mistaken, but if this is so it does help highlight how FE is dangerous as it can lead to belief in more dangerous conspiracies.) Maybe more than one video on this so you can do a full round up? Separate from the FEFand TFT. Also, I was watching something and one of your older Fail comps was in the recommendations (22 or 23 I think). In it there was a girl who called herself Flat Earth Godess. She talked about some festival she was organising, Unite FE or Unify FE I think it was called, and telling people to download (I am not making this up) the Flatties app (!!) I doubt it happened as I am sure at least one of the debunking posse would have covered it. Maybe you could update us on what happened with that pls?
Lmao, I like how he says they allegedly went to Antarctica. Like they invited you to go with them. Dude is either very mentally handicapped or trolling.
I felt a great disturbance in the Globe, as if millions of goalposts suddenly cried out in error and were suddenly moved. I fear something wonderful has happened.
When you're a flat earther, and you go to Antarctica, to see the 24 hour sun. And then your own people explain you were in a giant studio with flood lights, then maybe you start to appreciate how nuts your side is.
Well, they do get it now. Especially the Witsit that got bullied by his community and especially by that Nathan Oakley guy. They literally told him to get lost. Similar story with Jeran. So, I believe that what changed their mind way more is not the fact that they indeed saw the 24 hour sun in Antarctica but rather the way they got treated by their own community. The irony is, it was as predictable as 24 hour sun, because it's the basis of FE community, to deny facts and people who can articulate those facts better than themselves.
You'd think... however I expect the FEs who went will try and spin it some other way. Too dangerous to admit you were wrong about the shape of the earth when your income depends on grifting idiots
Depends where the money is coming from. Flat earthers spout this stuff as they get thousands of pounds per month from views. They aren't going to admit they were wrong and give up that income are they
Yeah. Maybe. Isn't it about time we ignored these pathetic people? Nothing will change their arguments. You could send Dubay or any other flerffer up on an ISS supply flight, let them float around, invite them to look out the observation dome, and they'd still arrive back home with a newer, even more convoluted explanation of the trillion-dollar special effects hoax the whole thing was. His, and other people's, identities are too wrapped up in their fictional world where they are admired and take part in a silly circle jerk with other self-styled "experts." They're not giving that up for anything. Dubay et al *may* have deluded themselves, but I wouldn't put $5 against them knowing full well their flat world is nonsense. It doesn't affect my life. Let them have their hobby.
It's critical to Eric to make unrelenting claims of lies and fakery. The entry point to FE for the majority of people that I've seen interviewed is that there are vast global conspiracies that constantly hide the truth about basically everything. Eric needs to keep feeding that paranoia.
It's a circular argument. If in fact you do prove that the final experiment disproved the Flat Earth, you'll need to prove that they actually went and vice versa. But the person you're trying to convince is so set in his beliefs that he won't believe you regardless. If you bring footage of them actually going, he'll say that it's fake. If you show footage of the 24 hour sun, he'll say it's fake. If you show receipts of how much it actually cost to go on this trip. All together now, what we will he say? IT'S FAAAAKE!
that's the comedy value of it all to me. They're running simultaneously trying to debunk the footage whilst also crying "it doesn't matter anyway" like 5 year old children who just lost an argument in the playground.
Because the whole MO of conspiracy theorists is based on denying things. They never provide positive evidence proving their theories, they just try and crap on the real evidence.
Dubay knows the earth is not flat, but he's apparently made a million out of pushing it, so he's not going to stop now. He chose money over integrity a long time ago and he doesn't care that it makes him look like a complete muppet.
I kept asking the flat earthers what the purpose of the massive cover up is, they would never answer or just said $, but couldn't explain it any further. I don't think they've thought that far ahead.

We should crowdfund a trip to space for Eric with a couple of conditions. If the Earth is flat when he gets up there, he wins $10m. If the Earth is round or has observable curvature - he stays in space.
You still believe in space? Everything travelling at million of miles an hour in all different directions but our sky stays the same for thousands of years, sure buddy 😂
@tekamin yes, because all the stars you can see with your eyes are travelling in the same direction as us and about the same speed in the same direction. Like cars on a circular route all going the same speed as you.
But then his game would be up as he's far too stupid to get a real job using skill and knowledge. This is all he has and will cling onto it till the day he dies. Just look at the intro, this man just asked if anyone circum navigated the earth for the final experiment when that wasn't the goal and that's been done countless times already. When they get paid to say it's flat, they say it's flat. It would be very interesting if they were to repeat this experiment but do it at the North and South poles at the same time. That's probably the FEer's worst fear.

Is he going to edit his 200 supposed Proofs, particularly No. 57. "57) The establishment claims the Midnight Sun IS experienced in Antarctica but they conveniently do not have any uncut videos showing this, nor do they allow independent explorers to travel to Antarctica during the winter solstice to verify or refute these claims."
Think about how much money he will not get, if Eric would admit he was wrong. A simple Google search found his books and videos that grift real money from those that need a new belief system. There will always be a Jim Jones waiting to step up, to be next cult leader.
Dave mckeegan already proved that it couldn't be a reflected second sun moving in the opposite direction because the sunspots were the same everywhere in the world including the sunspots seen from Antarctica. If it were a reflected second sun, the sunspots would have been mirrored. They weren't. It was just THE SUN
It doesn't explain the heat either. Reflected sun can't heat things and, even though it's obviously cold in Antarctica, the heat from the sun still feels. So much so that on the ALE web site it says that their tents rely on the 24-hour sun to heat them up to 15-20 Celsius degrees.
@@ИванБорисюк-п7э Sorry, but reflected sun can absolutely heat things. At around 3-4pm local time, the sun hits my neighbors window, reflecting the light back toward my garage, and if I stand in the path of the reflection, the heat is noticeably hotter. That just proves that guys "device" even more ridiculous, because the reflected sun would amplify the heat, and cause patches of melted snow and ice - like using a magnifying glass to burn things.
It is a bit nerdy but the sun spot thing Dave showed is my current favorite globe proof. Watching the sun spots showing the sun rotating from POV of earthbound observers is very interesting. No doubt Eric has an equally brilliant explanation of the sun spots coming soon. 😂😂 I’m always looking for a good laugh.
Flat Earthers said it was impossible to visit Antarctica because the navies of the world would stop anyone who tried. Now they forget they said it. It's ok to doubt the shape of the earth. Maybe for a second. Then you look it up and suddenly you're like oh ok it's a globe glad I didn't tell anyone I was wondering if it can be confirmed. That's normal. That's ok. A bit embarrassing but ok. Lots of stuff I don't know that's obvious to someone else. These guys DON'T do that. He's willing to do whatever it takes to keep that money rolling in. If he fails as a professional flerf peddler, he has nothing he can credibly fall back on.
To me it's obvious. Fleric is a fraud. He knows the Earth isn't flat! If he really thought it was flat he would have went. He didn't, He's obviously in it for the money...
I've a simpler example, I live in Wexford Ireland. From St helens beach to Fishguard Harbour in South Wales is about 54 miles, if the earth was flat, how is it I can't stand on the beach and see Wales. Hell I can't even see a 20000 tonne car ferry until it's a few miles from port. If the world was flat you would see Wales, the ships, everything, all I see is sea.
Wait a minute, wasn't Eric invited to go to Antarctica? And he declined? And now he's claiming it's all a hoax. Nope, never saw that one coming. As for the new segment, I'm all in on that! Can't wait to watch!
There never has been any straw to grasp. There's just people not understanding basic science and refusing to listen to any attempt at explaining it to them.
Exactly. It's about being anti-authority and feeling special because you're privy to secret knowledge that the 'dumbed-down' masses don't have. That's why this resurgence of flat earth madness won't die out.
For the most part the ones making these videos aren't dumb, they don't even believe what they claim but they say it cause they k own they can make money off those who tend to believe these sort of conspiracies
There's also the issue of the people who take the stance "No amount of evidence you show me will make me change my mind." That only proves they are not thinking, simply denying.
I remember back when I used to interview people for work. We were given training classes to make certain we never discuss or mentioned anything that would get us sued for any type of discrimination. Some questions and topics were OK to engage with, but others were not. This was before Flat-Earthers. Seems to me this would be an easy thing to discuss. If I found out I was interviewing a Flat-Earther, that would answer a lot of questions about their ability to work. I doubt it's a question that isn't allowed to be discussed because it's not religion, race, sex status/preference, etc. It's just a measure of the amount of stupid, and that is important for the job. Thus, I'm glad these people are easily identifiable. It's a great time saver.
Flat earth is a conspiracy theory, NOT a reasoned science. It is not amenable to reason / proof / argument. Yes, it DOESN'T matter what you demonstrate, you will NEVER change their minds.
@@drk321 In a figurative sense, yes. But I was required to save them, along with all my notes. Even if that person never brings suit, a full history of all interviews you've done is good evidence that you treat people fairly.
Any experiment no matter how badly conceived or operated. Eventually the truth will always be evident. There is no chance of trying to prove the earth flat! The curve will always get in the way.
Flat earthers before Dec 2024: "A 24 hour Antarctic Sun would disprove the flat Earth and prove the globe!" Flat earthers after Dec 2024: "Looking at the sky tells us nothing about the shape of the Earth!" I wonder what happened in December 2024?
If they got a free trip into space and saw the whole earth they would still somehow shift the goal posts again... There is only ONE way for them to change their mind. And that is for everyone on earth to say the earth is flat. Only at that point would they say it's a globe.
This is a bit of a bad example. Because looking out does not prove that the train is moving. The world outside could also be moving. However for TFE even though it did not prove the motion of the earth, it did prove the shape of the earth.
@@Taktikameise This is basic Newtonian mechanics. For the observer in the train, the entire world is moving. But, there are some frames of reference that make it easier to do calculations and explain phenomena.
@@vidal9747 That is relativity, not Newtonian mechanics. Einstein removed absolut velocities, not Newton. For Newton 0 velocity was a possibility, for Einstein it was essentially not (at least you would never know). And it should be noted that the example was an observer in the train. And there is no reference frame that allows you to tell if the Train is moving or not. If you are in the train you don't know if the train or the earth is moving. If you are outside the train you don't know if the train is moving or the earth, if you are looking at the earth from the outside you still don't know if the earth is moving or the train. The point of a reference frame is not to know which object moves and which object does not move. The point is simply to define 0 velocity and just look at the movement of objects relativ to the object you defined as having 0 velocity. In our Solar System the gravitational center of the solar system is the object with 0 velocity. It is still moving, but we define it as having 0 velocity to calculate all movements based on it. On earth we define the earth as stationary.
It’s continuously hilarious to me that flat earthers are regressing themselves from the rest of civilisation. They know less now than we did 2,000 years ago.
Because of the (worryingly increasing) hyper-individualistic, anti-intellectual mindset. The truth is, the collective knowledge of human civilization has long exceeded the capacity of any individual human mind. If you refuse to lean on the knowledge of others, insisting that you understand everything yourself to think its true - this is where it leads.
Time for mass reporting them then. This is getting old and downright dangerous. Be free to steal every cent they made out of the grift while silencing the grifters.
I posted a comment on your short about the "superfluid ceiling". Flerfs won't accept a vast number of observations that all align with each other and are all consistent with the earth being a globe. Yet they will accept the existence of a superfluid ceiling, which is a mechanism that: 1) they've invented themselves because they need it to make one part of their model work, 2) doesn't work with other parts of their model, and 3) doesn't have a shred of evidence to support its existence. Worse than that, they have the arrogance to believe that they've discovered something that no scientist has ever identified, despite their obvious lack of scientific understanding.
@@greatestscott6599 Exactly. Globe - one model, everything works and it aligns with every observation and measurement. FE - some Flerfs laughably go as far as saying "we don't have a model" (that risible oaf Oakley for instance). Others claim there are lots of ways FE could work. Yet none of their models stand up to scrutiny or come close to explaining _everything_ that works perfectly on a globe model, so they resort to inventing stuff or "could" and "maybe".

I'd be careful about implying that Eric is stupid. He's making mint on his grift. He's learned how to lie in a way that is convincing to his followers. As I'm typing this, certain politicians come to mind.
Believing that one has access to 'hidden information', or has been 'chosen to deliver a message to the faithful' whilst simultaneously believing that they are more intelligent than anyone who disagrees with them, indicates a catastrophically delusional mindset. Eric Dubay is so deep into the woods, he regards the concept of paths as theoretical pseudoscience.
So his argument against the sun IS a lens flare, except that lens flare isn't happening inside the camera due to a real lens, but is happening due to a magical lens in the sky....
Problem with the lens flare is, that, depending on the angle it looks like there’s a second sun in the sky. If you make a picture that way, it’s easy to have cult followers believe that, yes, there’s a second sun. If you would be on-site, with that same camera, looking through the lens, and moving a little (left/right, up/down) you could see that that apparent second sun seems to move very weird through the sky, and at some point then understand, and then also see, that this is just lens-flare. Hard to see THAT on a static picture though. Of course, Eric Dubay is using this to his advantage, without even thinking about it.
@@light-from-dark While you are correct, the pictures show more than just lens flares, they show a reflection happening on the sea, and lens flares, do not cause reflections. It is probably a case of atmospheric refraction as well.
As someone who does realistic lighting with 3D software, that rotational model at the end where a point light was only lighting one half of that circle plane and SOMETHING just cast a blob of shadow on the other, that made my brain physically hurt.
This is why they can't make computer models easily. When you model flat Earth you have to doctor in a heap of corrections and adjustments for things that otherwise just work on a globe.
@@alvamigaIt's the same thing with all of the "climate models" that are alleged to "prove" a future "climate crisis" that is "caused by humans." Those computer models are PROGRAMMED with artificial "data," such as a reduction of the sun's energy output, an INCREASING of the effects of CERTAIN "greenhouse" gases (like CO2) to THREE OR FOUR TIMES THE REAL-WORLD VALUE (while simultaneously ignoring the presence/effects of WATER VAPOR, which is the TOP "greenhouse" gas in the atmosphere), and simply ASSUMING an EXPONENTIAL increase in the concentrations of those gases. Put it all together in a "computer model" that was PROGRAMMED to achieve an "apocalyptic" outcome, and OF COURSE the program SHOWS what it was programmed to show. Regardless of whether it's a flat Earth "model" or an "anthropogenic" climate change "model," the fundamental flaw is the same: Since their "model" DOESN'T start with the objectively observed FACTS of reality (but instead with a number of false premises that fit their own worldview), this means that EVERYTHING that follows from those false premises completely pointless to even consider. If they didn't START with Earth AS IT ACTUALLY IS TODAY, then their "models" (logically) CAN'T be some sort of "projection" future events (or whatever the flat-Earthers believe is supposedly observed.)
If the sun were a spotlight like they claim, it wouldn't set, it would just dim and go out somewhere up in the sky. The ancient flat earthers actually had a more reasonable model where the sun went down for the night (into a muddy pool according to the Q'n) instead of circling overhead.
That's unkind to cavemen. I'm confident the average caveman would soon understand fibre optic cables better than the flerfs understand the solar system. Also, most cavemen, after having the solar system explained to them, would say "ah, I get it, it all makes so much sense now".

So, a personal dome is it that makes you see the same thing as others in your surrounding? But you see other things, then a person far away? What if you travel from the first to the second person? How does it work, that you leave the personal dome of the first and get into the personal dome of the first person? How does it work with the personal dome and others? How far of you is your personal dome located? Can the personal dome intersect with the personal dome of others? Why don't you see effects of them intersecting? How do these personal domes interact? With the personal dome is ignored, that everybody would have a personal dome. Perhaps not, when they are far away, but indeed, when they are close.

She talked about some festival she was organising, Unite FE or Unify FE I think it was called, and telling people to download (I am not making this up) the Flatties app (!!) Well, they do get it now.

Yeah.

He doesn’t want to anger the people who think they went to a studio or Greenland. They have money, after all.
Anyone who uses language like Eric is clearly trying to sound inteligent when they have no real.clue what they're talking about.
Dubay knows the earth is not flat, but he's apparently made a million out of pushing it, so he's not going to stop now. He chose money over integrity a long time ago and he doesn't care that it makes him look like a complete muppet.

"If you want to know if the train is moving, don't look out the window. Look at the floor."
💯💯💯💯 exactly

Pretty much the Flat Earth argument in a nutshell.
If what he says is right, why does he mention "models"-shouldn't there be only _one_ ?
@@greatestscott6599 Exactly.
Globe - one model, everything works and it aligns with every observation and measurement.
FE - some Flerfs laughably go as far as saying "we don't have a model" (that risible oaf Oakley for instance). Others claim there are lots of ways FE could work. Yet none of their models stand up to scrutiny or come close to explaining _everything_ that works perfectly on a globe model, so they resort to inventing stuff or "could" and "maybe".
@@greatestscott6599 There could be multiple models, but they should all be compatible to the extent that they're applicable, like relativity and Newtonian gravity.

It was NOT an "Experiment" there was zero "hypotheses" dumb dumb, are you a retard or low IQ?
Yep, because he livelihood hinges on perpetuating the lie.
His Mommy told him he isn't allowed
Believing that one has access to 'hidden information', or has been 'chosen to deliver a message to the faithful' whilst simultaneously believing that they are more intelligent than anyone who disagrees with them, indicates a catastrophically delusional mindset. Eric Dubay is so deep into the woods, he regards the concept of paths as theoretical pseudoscience.
So his argument against the sun IS a lens flare, except that lens flare isn't happening inside the camera due to a real lens, but is happening due to a magical lens in the sky....
I doubt you'll see that in real life other than the picture taken. A lens flare. You guys have no evidence of the dome.
Brilliant.
Of course, Eric Dubay is using this to his advantage, without even thinking about it.
and you can only see it through a camera lens, not your eyes.
@@alvamigaIt's the same thing with all of the "climate models" that are alleged to "prove" a future "climate crisis" that is "caused by humans."
Those computer models are PROGRAMMED with artificial "data," such as a reduction of the sun's energy output, an INCREASING of the effects of CERTAIN "greenhouse" gases (like CO2) to THREE OR FOUR TIMES THE REAL-WORLD VALUE (while simultaneously ignoring the presence/effects of WATER VAPOR, which is the TOP "greenhouse" gas in the atmosphere), and simply ASSUMING an EXPONENTIAL increase in the concentrations of those gases.
Put it all together in a "computer model" that was PROGRAMMED to achieve an "apocalyptic" outcome, and OF COURSE the program SHOWS what it was programmed to show.
Regardless of whether it's a flat Earth "model" or an "anthropogenic" climate change "model," the fundamental flaw is the same:
Since their "model" DOESN'T start with the objectively observed FACTS of reality (but instead with a number of false premises that fit their own worldview), this means that EVERYTHING that follows from those false premises completely pointless to even consider. If they didn't START with Earth AS IT ACTUALLY IS TODAY, then their "models" (logically) CAN'T be some sort of "projection" future events (or whatever the flat-Earthers believe is supposedly observed.)
And the shadow conveniently stops just shy of the 'wall'.
If the sun were a spotlight like they claim, it wouldn't set, it would just dim and go out somewhere up in the sky. The ancient flat earthers actually had a more reasonable model where the sun went down for the night (into a muddy pool according to the Q'n) instead of circling overhead.
Yep. Anyone who has ever worked anywhere near this sort of thing is just shaking their head.

To be fair, CC from New York just had a vid that said they don't know if the dome is flat or round 😂😂😂😂
I've given up trying to understand the Flerf mind, as there is no rhyme or reason to it.
Might as well say everyone has their personal reality at this point.
What exactly makes a skydome with a "superfluid ceiling" on a flat earth more believable than the earth being a globe, just like everything else we see in the sky?
Don't you know that superfluid sticks to the ceiling, but not to a ball.
And how come we haven't seen the bolts attached to the dome yet?
