It is so refreshing to find a mechanic that is about as organized as I am. LOVE the commentaries as you go and don't hold back. That old beast reminds me of one I ordered in July 1973 for the 74 model year. I ordered the Talisman package and the only 2 options I couldn't get was a sun roof and tilt wheel (probably because I ordered the "air cushion restraint" system). It ran great and was smooth and quiet and great for long trips. People were amazed that it only seated 4 people which the very conservative jack asses in my community clucked their tongues and tsk tsk all day. I had it for 2 years and my father got t-boned by a dump truck. Sadly he survived, but the car was a total loss and my damn insurance company (and the trucking company's insurance) were battling out how much it was worth and I got the short end of the stick. Keep up the great videos.
Nice car! My friend’s dad used to sell vintage Cadillacs! This brings back great memories. Those 500’s are indestructible! That car looks pretty clean too! Great rescue!
Back in 2001 I bought a 75 Sedan de Ville for $300 . No title, but i just wanted the engine and transmission. The junk yard put a new key lock in for me. I bought a new battery, 5 gallons of gas, a gallon of automatic transmission fluid a couple quarts oil. (Just in case i needed it) it started, drove it home. Put the engine and transmission in a 77 chevy pickup. I went to another junk yard took an oil pan, oil pick up tube and main bearing bolt/stud from an 84 Eldorado ( needed those to put the engine in the Chevy. ) Around town, i got 12 MPG on highway got 16 MPG. lots of Torque. Made for a fun truck to drive.
Hey I noticed on where you're at I used to come there a good part of the time and I was wondering if you had any vehicles for sale if you do please let me know
It's good to see someone interested in 70s land yachts. Of course the downfall is that freaking vinyl top, but overall the car looks great 👍 congratulations on getting her running and driving. Keep up the great work and you got a new subscriber👍✌️🇺🇲
I enjoy your channel more than I can express. I actually get excited when I see you put a new video on the content and comedy is worthy of television. Thank you.
@@1234567896783 its the same car before i fixed it, im just now organizing everything so people can watch the whole process from the 1st video to the last.
Very entertaining very good editing one of my favorite spots you ever did I mean fabulous, when you were working on the Red Oldsmobile and you played in a Oldsmobile jingle and you turn the camera up to the sky and there was the Oldsmobile logo from the jet classic classic
I had no idea that blocks had a drain for coolant. Novel idea. You were very lucky to find green coolant, with no apparent rust, coming out of this old block. Next time, find a way to fill completely the float bowl of the carb, not just down it's throat. Engine will run much longer on initial start.
Just pulled the powertrain out of my old Valiant sedan, split the small-block engine & tranny apart. Doing seals, gaskets, cam kit, double-roller timing chain, intake & a 4-bbl, freeze plugs...the oil pan had a very minor amount of sludge and signs of metal. Cam bearings & lifter faces were looking as if they hadn't seen zinc in a while. The rest? It all looked good, even the borescope showed everything internal was in great shape (it has 88K miles). Should be ready to be assembled & installed next week!
I'm a Ford and Mopar guy, but this Fleetwood is definitely worth saving. Good luck with it - honestly the best thing you can do is join a Cadillac club. When I was into Edsels, I met some very friendly people in the club who saved me tremendous money & misery just by sharing their knowledge and sources.
I subscribed specifically because you're new and have only 891 subs at this point, 19 Dec 2023. I thought I could give you a bit of a hand. I wish you luck with the new channel and a Merry Christmas! peace, drRick
Man...this guy is great! He is real! What a positive refreshment to UA-cam. Keep it going.

Had one of these in the 90's. Really enjoyed getting 7mpg. Super reliable engine though.
These Ole Caddys are tanks and have saved my life in a huge wreck. Can't put gas in a car when your dead.

I never seen that either, must be a cadillac thing.

It's a good car and a native Cadillac! Good luck!👍😀👍
That car is Luxury 🩵 whoever bought that new was of significance. The Cadillac of today is merely an upbadged Chevy
Yup! That’s a nice one man
Shit man it even looked fairly clean underneath! My 70k orgininal mile 75 C20 was an oily mess! Every gasket dry as fk.
Honestly would love one these old boats.

Running like a top...good ol gm iron blocks...😉
👍
Hunkin brown party liquor bottles like bad santa.😂
Is it safe to mix the 2-stroke oil in with gas if you’re doing this for a fuel-injected car?
it wont hurt anything in the short term
@vega660-newchannel5 be careful...I assume anything but gasoline running through an injection system is risky....right?
nice car you got how much did you buy for
I’m sure you know this but if you fill the bowl through the vent tube those Quadrajets will light right off
What’s the name of that junk yard
Hope you use ethanol free fuel.
Got a title? Lol
That's a 76
