I agree with the attachment bit. It can probably be added to one of the existing attachments probably. Maybe like the quick-draw grip should do this but just further punish on the existing negatives for that grip. I also think they should do something similar with the shotguns, make it so that when you add a sight to it it tightens the spread even more when you ADS. I feel like all of main weapon categories really need to have certain attachments modified for the guns there are meant to be put on. Those are just two examples for me personally.
I’m loving the 93r. In my opinion a secondary is when you are in a pinch and need a get out free card - the 93r does that and is one of three pistols with that faster moving speed. Love it all the time!
Agreed. I like a sidearm that can keep up with an itchy trigger finger when things get tense, and the insane ROF and burst usually just means more shots on target for me.
Same here I don't use no other pistol the 93r is just perfect for my playstyle and tbh most playstyles, aswell using it with a sniper or marksman rifle is superior
Based on your breakdown, it seems to me that the 1911 is the best option vs phantoms. The deagle and magnum might be just as good in this spot, but the faster rate of fire of the 1911 makes it more forgiving while offering better mobility. So, deagle when playing as a cleaner, 1911 when there's a disproportionate amount of enemy phantoms, and 93r in every other case.
The reason the 1911 is best is because it gets all the benefits of the small caliber sidearms (RoF, Movement Speed, Upgraded Mag Size, Quick Reload) and eeks out just enough damage per shot to down enemies consistently and allow for 1 shot + melee to down 100 HP opponents in extreme CQB. The 1911 was my first bronze gun (mostly for the memes), and being able to tap once while slide-jumping face-first into an enemy then melee for a near-instant kill is incredibly stupid and fun. Personally, I don't like the magnum guns because I prefer to spam with low-visual recoil, but the M9's damage per shot was just underwhelming and the 1911 was perfect. Highly recommend the Ext. Mag for 15 shots per mag though. If you wish to join me as a God's Caliber enthusiast, use this build: - Light Suppressor - Ext. Mag - Heavy Grip - Ironsights (because chads dont use micro dots) - Bronze or Silver (gold is yucky)
I swear. These things are only good for running around the map to get to objectives. I get it. We don't want to see something like the KAP 40 from B02 but these sidearms definitely need a slight buff. Also, it feels like you can't switch to them fast enough to finish off an enemy before getting shot down.

It's silly to compare to the 93R that runs out of ammo in an instant, the M9 has PLENTY of ammo and will last you way longer. Despite having a larger mag, you will NEVER kill 2 dudes in one mag, but with the M9 you definitely can. Ammo efficiency > absolute capacity

I 100% feel like they need to make some minor adjustments to ALL of the pistols. Like they are all basically reskins of eachother. Like the D50, More headshot dmg. The 1911, faster movement speeds. The M9 an uncapped fire rate or no recoil. The magnum maybe constisten dmg or no dmg drop off. The 93R maybe give it a faster sprint to fire than the others. Just things that make them clearly different.
One of the few things I like about COD, the pistols are actually really lethal and competitive. Good TTK’s at close range, and some the fastest TTK’s in Akimbo although only some of them are accurate enough to make Akimbo worth it.

Definitely subbing. Having these numbers in an easy to digest video is extremely helpful. 1911 pistol is the best (imo) and with the magazine upgrade it makes it #1 in my eyes.
I'd love to know more about movement speeds in this game, I have a hard time telling if my SMG classes with +12.5% movement speed run slower than pistols.
All of the guns run off an MS system. Pistols start at 1.0 ms. In comparison, every other gun (minus smgs) starts at 0.9 and requires 10% movement speed in order to run on par with pistols. Smgs are the only guns that can get to 1.1ms in order to run faster than pistols since they start at 1.0 ms.
@@pubplays368 The in-game movement stats are confusing and too inaccurate in their current state. If it works like you explained it, accuracy of 0.1 is not enough when a 0.025 difference matters (at least for me). Also I have no clue what that MS means as it can't be meters per second. I believe the whole stat is just a detail they forgot to finish. Sorry for the harsh response, I know you're just trying to help and I appreciate it
4:21 "trust the fact that it doesnt have that much recoil" reminds me of cod4 deagle. It looked like it was breaking your wrists but it barely had any recoil at all
I find that a slower, more deliberate play style and not rushing into engagements, and always aiming upper body works wonders for pistols. You also don’t want to be too close to enemies, but not too far either. I find sticking to the outskirts of maps and flanking spawns works well, but you need the element of surprise.
Would be so cool if they added a search and destroy mode and you can defuse or plant the bomb with a pistol on the other hand. If the devs can play into the pistol's one handed nature like shooting from a riot shield or faster movement recovery from jumping, they would be in a better place. As balancing, this can get tricky.
the 1911 personally is my fave since i'm not a fan of the burst & mostly play dom which has a lot of phantom faction players. Inside the "reload cancel & barrel stuff" range it's the most competitive after the 93r, and has a less drastic ttk dropoff in the 10-20 range compared to the D50.
The Magnum has style… but that’s all it has. I’ve leveled it to gold. It’s almost always a 2-3 shot kill, but even at point blank the magnum isn’t a one shot headshot, which sucks because of it’s delay between shots. While leveling it up, I cannot count the amount of times I’d have won a gunfight were I using any other weapon, but because of the delay between shots the TTK is literally capped no matter how good you are, even if you get the drop on them and fire first if you opponent can hit their shots the. no amount of skill will save you while you wait for the next shot to fire. I’d definitely recommend using Cleaner because the majority of the time if you’re not hitting headshots you’ll land two body shots, which leaves the enemy at less than ten health, but landing that final kill shot before they beam you back with an smg is the tough part.
Yeah I love a good revolver or deagle, but it's just not as fun if they're not powerful enough. Plus strafing is so absurd in this game that lining up accurate shots in close range is just not worth it with the slow fire rate. Actually makes me miss the new MW2's version of each. Those were deadly with one shot headshots. Felt so good to use.
93r with muzzle booster , extended mag and quick draw is all you need ! Ive dropped 40 plus kills with it ,fun to play with running around pretty good up close .
Really gkad to see the movement speeds. I wanted something hard hitting, but didn't want to sacrifice my speed too much. This helps me actually make an informed decision Also glad the magnums aren't THAT much slower than everything else. They're just fun
Mw2 on launch had the best pistol balance. They were strong, but not overbearing. They were also distinct. Add the 93r to the mix and you have the perfect arsenal
I think black ops 2 had the best pistols of any game I played as far as how good they were compared to primaries the dual wield b234s kap 40s and executioners were all insanely powerful at close range
I use the M9 almost religiously, because in 99% of cases, if I have to pull out my pistol, it’s because I’m out of ammo and need the person in the front of me dead I tend to panic, so high fire rates (relatively speaking, that is, M9 still seriously needs a ROF buff) and high capacities are my best friends
Before I watch this video, my current opinion on the pistols is that the M9 is the king. The 93R is really strong but faces the same issue as the Vector for me, in that its mag size is too small. The M9 I feel like it can just TEAR through people in close quarters, and I can easily get more than 1 kill per mag. The rest of the pistols have horrible mag sizes and TTK to boot, so no point even mentioning them.
Clearly the .44 magnum is the only revolver in that category. If I had to take between the desert eagle, M9, M93R and the Five Seven. I'd take the Five Seven anyday.
As someone who have M9 level 74, i disagree, M9 is better than D50 or 686 Magnum, it just kills way faster, i just grinded 30 lvl with 686 Magnum, my k/d is ruined.
I'll be honest, I thought they were better, lol. I'm currently working on getting Bronze for the Deagle and I'm winning more gunfights than I think I should. Granted, because it's a slow ttk game, there's a lot more room for errors. Even if a gun is good, the enemy still needs to land their shots, but I'm basically counter sniping with the Deagle. Throw on the red dot and extended mags and you're good to go if your aim is solid. Ps, keep in mind assists count towards exp. Even if you aren't killing, just getting damage for your team to clean up is good enough to just level in a timely fashion.
D50 is my favorite! Most of the time when I’m using my pistol is to clean up a kill, and it’s almost guaranteed to be a one shot. Plus it has the highest kill potential imo

XDefiant is 100% hitscan for guns. Kill trades can still happen if the master game state accepts damage from both players on the same tick so it's fairly rare but absolutely still happens
Gotta ask, @Ace, is XDefiant movement speed actually faster than MW3? I see the base movement speed of the 93R pistol is 4.85 m/s, while in CoD, a 93r type pistol is 5.4m/s. Is it just the pistols that are slower in XDefiant, or is the game slower across the board?

I think a good way to buff the 1911 and m9 would be to give them an ADS buff. In real life you would probably be able to ADS faster with the M9 and 1911 then the Deagle and magnum. So it would makes practical sense. That way you'd be able to get the drop on your target a little quicker to get that extra shot and make up for their weaker power.
What they should do with pistols is reduce the amount of xp needed to unlock camos for example instead of needing to grind to level 50 then 75 then 100 grind to 25 bronze 50 silver then 65 or 75 for the gold camos or double the amount of xp you get from getting kills with a sidearm
The fact that pistols are already hard to use on top of the fact that their range is hard capped is absolutely devastating to see. I loved using pistols in CoD instead of primaries at times and seeing that basically not being possible in this game is increadibly dissapointing and makes the already low weapon count feel worse.
1911 needs a base 8rd mag which is standard now. Or make the quick mag the base plate 10 rounders. Why it doesn't get a capacity buff with quick mag is silly.
My only gripe is the pistols awkwardly fit into most class setups. ARs and SMGs cover between mid and close range, leaning towards one or the other respective of class. Shotguns want an option for range, which pistols do not offer. Snipers and marksman options are able to be used up close in a pinch, often faster than swapping to the pistol and going for a headshot. I feel like they're close to holding their own, but fall short of giving me reasons to use them.
Honestly kinda ridiculous with smaller caliber weapons and their ranges, especially with these pistols. Never have I seen a game that hard caps pistol ranges
It's strange to me that you don't care for the M1911 because based on your numbers it's the best or among the best in most situations where you would actually be using a pistol. The only real downside of the 1911 is the small magazine. which can be helped with magazine attachments. It even fares really well against Phantom players damage-wise. To me it's the best all around choice due to the fast handling and firerate(compared to the DS50) and the better TTK in most situations than the M9.
I tend to lean towards the M9 and M1911. M9 is the fastest firing pistol so of course it's my personal favorite. M1911 though, if you are the hotshot with that thing. It feels better than any primary weapon in the game. Due to the movement speed, tied with just having better damage than the M9. It does however need an extended mag cause 7 bullets is abysmal.
I think the M1911 needs a buff. The killing potential just isn’t there with the mag size. Could get handling buffs, but a damage and range buff would be nice.
u can actually use pistol all game and still carry your team, i leveled up my magnum that way, the downside is only when u facing bunny hoppers, so many bullets not registering into them made u lose 75% of the time of that duels.
guessing before watching: - 93r burst pistol is overall best - deagle objectively better than revolver - 1911 better than m9 but balanced with lower movement speed so not worth using for finishing off enemies
Raffica is goat with both movement speed while ads attachments. People cant hit strafing targets and mix that in with slide cancel and crazy aim assist when super close and it's too good.
The Pistols have a Range Cap? That's so ridiculous. The fact they rely on Headshots so much is way too punishing. I get why they don't want Pistols to become extremely competitive, but they shouldn't be this weak.
I've been liking the 1911 the most. Just feels like a very solid secondary to me. Seeing the numbers here definitely makes sense of that to me. I would like to see them buff the swap speeds to the pistols though. For the M9 and 1911 at the very least. (Sorry if double post but it looks like there may have been an issue with my first attempt)
Would like to see the pistols be balanced like Black Ops 2. I remember in that game you could have a pistol only class and actually be able to do well with it. Pistols in Xdefiant are trash.
Absolutely loving the game. The only annoying thing is the netcode and server issues I still get. 1/2 of my matches are still shoot first die first, even though i'm hitting my shots. The other half is very fun tho :D

They will probably add a Glock at some point and that'll probably have high capacity plus fully auto.

Gotta ask, @Ace, is XDefiant movement speed actually faster than MW3? I see the base movement speed of the 93R pistol is 4.85 m/s, while in CoD, a 93r type pistol is 5.4m/s. Is it just the pistols that are slower in XDefiant, or is the game slower across the board?
You can't compare the 2 games to each other directly as they likely scale everything different.

I think a good way to buff the 1911 and m9 would be to give them an ADS buff. In real life you would probably be able to ADS faster with the M9 and 1911 then the Deagle and magnum. So it would makes practical sense. That way you'd be able to get the drop on your target a little quicker to get that extra shot and make up for their weaker power.
I just used the m9 for its highest mobility stat, making me think I could run around faster than anyone else

I run d50 with good cleaner primaries (LMGs, marksman rifles), and everything else uses 93R or 686 depending on how I feel that game.
Please do a video on what weapons is the damage barrel worth using

Do you move faster by bunny hopping/sliding?
What they should do with pistols is reduce the amount of xp needed to unlock camos for example instead of needing to grind to level 50 then 75 then 100 grind to 25 bronze 50 silver then 65 or 75 for the gold camos or double the amount of xp you get from getting kills with a sidearm
The fact that pistols are already hard to use on top of the fact that their range is hard capped is absolutely devastating to see. I loved using pistols in CoD instead of primaries at times and seeing that basically not being possible in this game is increadibly dissapointing and makes the already low weapon count feel worse.
M1911 pairs well with M44. It's a consistent sidearm to finish off hitmarkered enemies.
1911 needs a base 8rd mag which is standard now. Or make the quick mag the base plate 10 rounders. Why it doesn't get a capacity buff with quick mag is silly.

My only gripe is the pistols awkwardly fit into most class setups. ARs and SMGs cover between mid and close range, leaning towards one or the other respective of class. Shotguns want an option for range, which pistols do not offer. Snipers and marksman options are able to be used up close in a pinch, often faster than swapping to the pistol and going for a headshot. I feel like they're close to holding their own, but fall short of giving me reasons to use them.
Oy, it's almost like they're backups, or 'secondary', to your primary and not a substitute.
Muzzle booster on the m9 turns it from complete trash to only kind of trash.
Call me crazy, but I think a shotgun style pistol would be a really fun mixup
Honestly kinda ridiculous with smaller caliber weapons and their ranges, especially with these pistols. Never have I seen a game that hard caps pistol ranges
It's strange to me that you don't care for the M1911 because based on your numbers it's the best or among the best in most situations where you would actually be using a pistol. The only real downside of the 1911 is the small magazine. which can be helped with magazine attachments.
It even fares really well against Phantom players damage-wise.
To me it's the best all around choice due to the fast handling and firerate(compared to the DS50) and the better TTK in most situations than the M9.
I tend to lean towards the M9 and M1911. M9 is the fastest firing pistol so of course it's my personal favorite. M1911 though, if you are the hotshot with that thing. It feels better than any primary weapon in the game. Due to the movement speed, tied with just having better damage than the M9. It does however need an extended mag cause 7 bullets is abysmal.
I think the M1911 needs a buff. The killing potential just isn’t there with the mag size. Could get handling buffs, but a damage and range buff would be nice.

The deagle is kinda useless whenever i get my gun pointing at the enemy the bullet doesnt go there
u can actually use pistol all game and still carry your team, i leveled up my magnum that way, the downside is only when u facing bunny hoppers, so many bullets not registering into them made u lose 75% of the time of that duels.
Same I have the magnum gold and it is satisfying. If you hit the head, you pretty much win the gunfight.
guessing before watching:
- 93r burst pistol is overall best
- deagle objectively better than revolver
- 1911 better than m9 but balanced with lower movement speed so not worth using for finishing off enemies

Raffica is goat with both movement speed while ads attachments. People cant hit strafing targets and mix that in with slide cancel and crazy aim assist when super close and it's too good.

The Pistols have a Range Cap? That's so ridiculous. The fact they rely on Headshots so much is way too punishing. I get why they don't want Pistols to become extremely competitive, but they shouldn't be this weak.

I've been liking the 1911 the most. Just feels like a very solid secondary to me. Seeing the numbers here definitely makes sense of that to me.
I would like to see them buff the swap speeds to the pistols though. For the M9 and 1911 at the very least.

Would like to see the pistols be balanced like Black Ops 2. I remember in that game you could have a pistol only class and actually be able to do well with it. Pistols in Xdefiant are trash.
They should at least remove the range cap. That’s an outdated mechanic outside of shotguns.
Absolutely loving the game. The only annoying thing is the netcode and server issues I still get. 1/2 of my matches are still shoot first die first, even though i'm hitting my shots. The other half is very fun tho :D

I suck with the pistols so bad
HS multiplier is basically meaningless in pc lobbies. Bunny hopping makes in nearly impossible to get on in nearly any 1v1 situation.

deagle and magnum looks useless high risk no reward
they shine more if you use them with the cleaners, especially the revolver, but yeah without the cleaners i'd probably stay away from them
Deagle is great because landing 3 shots is way easier than landing like 6 with another semi.
