I don't recall the audio in my theater sounding like a recording or coming out of a radio. Y'all will have to compare the theater audio to the 4K when it comes out. So it sounded thin and hollow the whole time? Any bass presence?
I had one complaint about the end (possible spoiler alert) I’ll try to keep this cryptic. When the gun didn’t go off at the end, there was a final shot where I was expecting the gun to go off for real, on a character, slightly off screen. Which would have been really dark! But I felt that the movie earned the ability to go there, but perhaps it chickened out? Thought, anyone?
It's good but more creepy than scary and very atmospheric with great use of the sound and score, and if you like the movie a lot will definitely depend on if you can roll with the ending. Worth a watch though and keep up the great videos 👍.
Ken, yea Blackcoat’s Daughter is a great movie .. but it’s not the only other film Osgood Perkins has made. He did a Netflix film in 2016 “I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House” .. and in 2020, he made “Gretel & Hansel” which had a 4K through scream factory
ive been wanting to go to the movies so bad lately but ive got a newborn so idk when ill get to go lol might have to wait and watch it at home. ugh! lol
Decent thriller. I'd give it a solid 6.5, 7 out of 10. Side note, no movie is scary to me. I love horror for its entertainment value. The thrill of the ride, the occasional jump scare, and awesome special FX. I liked this movie didn't love it.
@@kellyaustin7487 I also find that traditional horror movies don't scare me, but I would say Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was the wild-card movie that snuck up under my skin while I watched it, maybe you can give that a go. Even in the scenes where something nice is happening, something still doesn't feel right.
Me, nor the other three that went with me felt this was scary in any way, shape or form. Not even one scene. The backyard was the closest this came to horror iMO. Don’t buy the scare hype. It’s a decent movie, with some tension, but comments like “scariest movie of the decade” really do it injustice. Every trailer was scarier than the movie!
Had all the potential to be amazing. Lost me with all the “extra” elements. It was well shot and the sound design/editing is engaging. The movie just leaves you with a hot topic wanna be edgy kid vibe.
Not scary at all. Creepy at times, atmospheric? Yes. Not much more. I hyped myself too much for this. Maika and Nic were great, but overall huge dispointment for me. Maxxxine on the other hand was more right up my alley.
It was ok. It's a super natural thriller with an ok twist, but not quite horror imo. Definitely not unsettling nor scary (those things are subjective). It will not be a part of my physical media collection. Different strokes I suppose.
Spot on! This is the least scary horror movie I have seen all year. When Evil Lurks is way scarier and I enjoyed Late Night with the Devil much more as well.
As odd as Nicholas Cage's performance was, I really REALLY struggled to stay awake. Outside of his performance, I thought overall this movie was completely forgettable.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Going to watch it tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy!
Good review and cool video guys!👉🙂👈
Thanks! 👍

Honestly I can’t remember at this point but we’ll definitely have to compare when we watch at home.

Yeah, I think you’re right about the ending.

Ah, we’ll have to check those out then!
Cool. Cheers
🍻
I'm using this video to convince my wife to going with me to see it again. I watched Friday, loved it!
Awesome, we hope it works! 🤞🏻
Looked like an albino tiny Tim
🤣
Blimey Barbie has pulled Kens hair out
😂

Hey, we can relate! Our kids are older now but it can still be hard to get to the theater.
We saw the movie Friday. Unsettling is the best way to describe it. We thought Nicholas Cage was great. Not sure I would buy this when it comes out.
Fair enough.

No movie scares you?!
@@marriedwithmedia I can't remember one that has. Is that unusual? 🤔
Can you please tell me a movie that scared you and why? I'm curious.

I think eerie is a good word for it.

Hot Topic as in the store? 😂
@@marriedwithmedia yes lol

We still need to see MaXXXine.

Did you see the final act? It’s definitely horror. But yes, rather or not one thinks it is scary is subjective. Thanks for watching!

Over-hyped, and when it went supernatural it got soft and lost me. Was really wanting this to be good.
I could see how the super natural element would turn someone away.
So better than Abigail but probably overrated...
Longlegs > Abigail in our opinion.
As odd as Nicholas Cage's performance was, I really REALLY struggled to stay awake. Outside of his performance, I thought overall this movie was completely forgettable.
I could see how someone could fall asleep.
Watched it last night. It was trash. Very disappointed.
Sorry to hear that.
Yep. Film is awful!
LONGLEGS WAS NOT SCARY. It sucked. It was so bad.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy it.
