Not really. Brad specifically said that you have to cut a significant amount in order to see the layers, in order for it to make a difference. And she cut off about 2 inches the first time. She could have just cut off 4 inches the first time and it would have been fine. Maybe she should have watched the tutorial again before going ahead with cutting her hair. In the end, it turned out totally cute! 👍🏽
I'm not usually a very outwardly excited kinda person, but watching your videos these last few years i feel like i am slowly learning that its okay to dance around and scream out when i'm happy or have achieved my goal. Thank you for being you. Your hair looks amazing and really suits you! 💕
Looks super cute! I started cutting my hair during the pandemic and now I wouldn't let anyone else do it! Totally gets easier and less scary. Hey, and the blow dry and styling helps! GO GIRL!😁
I have layers similar as the end result, and instead of trying to do a blowout by myself (it's so difficult) I usually do sock curls overnight. It gives nice movement to the layers, so I highly recommend it!
It looks so good! I have been talking about giving myself a haircut for too long, and I also ponytail it up the majority of the time because I’m not happy with it/it gets in my face. You go girl, living your extra(cute cut)life, the Mondo way 💝
I’ve been so scared to try this bc every video I see is people with very thick hair and so watching you, who has very similar hair to me, was very helpful and encouraging :) I think I’m going to try it tonight!
I had really thick hair, but the past few years covid and just life has affected my hair really bad. I been seeing it as so thin in comparison to what it was. Needing to cut also. I'm now trying this tonight, too. I'm curious how did yours turn out? Loved it better than you expected? 💛
I just did this cut on myself over the weekend! When I went to watch his video, I saw the “Jenna Phipps has also watched this” notification. I was hoping this meant this was coming. 😃 Looks great!
It came out great! Just the right length! You can also cut the front shorter and leave the back the same if you want. I've been doing this cut for about 6 months and trim it the same way every couple months. It's so amazing that we can do this ourselves! Thank you Brad Mondo!! I hope you shared this with him.
It looks great! Years ago I cut mine in the same manner and then went to the hairdresser who said, "it's really pretty good". She took a couple snips and that was that. Way to save 75 bucks!
brruhhh. had this sudden urge to cut my own hair. saw your video.. without thinking for a sec starts cutting down and VOILAAAAA.. i didd it and + guess whatt it turned goooooood. yaaaaay
I've been having fun seeing more of Jenna's adventures. You are so fun and positive, love seeing what you do and excited to see what else you do and create!
That looks amazing! I've been in the same boat with my hair and have considered cutting mine myself too in the couple weeks (I've also never done it before). This might just be the inspiration I need to go through with it! 💛
You remind me so much of myself! I'm 66 now, still trying new things, getting creative, and going for it!! I binge watch your videos while I crochet. I crocheted a really cute granny square sweater recently, and figured out the design to fit my body, with only two triangles under the arms, and the squares turned like diamonds. I'm also crocheting things for my kids and grandkids, like a Highland Cow, a Mandalorian figure with Grogu, and a pig dressed up like a frog! Love your energy and bubbliness!! ❤️ Also, your hair looks awesome! I will use this technique when I get tired of my hair, which is getting quite long after I chopped it off myself last year.
I just want to take a moment to appreciate & thank you for actually buying hair cutting scissors & for deciding to cut a little at a time! You can't put it back but you can always trim off a bit more until you're happy with it. ;) Edited to add: It looks good, with your hair texture, the layers and slight curl on the ends adds volume & movement. Good job ^_^
It turned out great! 😁 I used a similar technique to start cutting my own hair and I haven't been to a salon in multiple years 👍 saves alot of money with my almost waist length hair!!
This turned out great! I’ve been cutting my own hair my entire adult life (I’m 30 now) because I have curly hair and very few stylists can get it right but for the past couple years I’ve been using the Manes by Mell Tutorial for curly hair. If anyone with curly hair wants to try doing it themselves, it hasn’t done me wrong yet
Looks good girl. I had full out panic attack when I tried to do mine the same way. Almost raged quit in just trying to put my shoulder length hair in the pony tails but in the end figured it out and finished the cut.
I looked back at your wedding!!! Wow with eye makeup on you are absolutely a model so Beautiful!!! Now with your cut...& you did good! I have done it with 4 ponytails on the top of my head. With a soft body perm did good! You go girl love watching your spunkiness!!
It's sooo cute! I actually tried brad mondos version of the butterfly cut also by myself and it turned out good , too. Seems nothing can go wrong with that cut.
The most effective, easy and fast styling this hairstyle are rollers. On partialy dried, not full wet hair. Then blow dry. It takes 15 to 30 minutes for stunning style. Good job❤!
Excellent! My first time was a week ago and started w/ 4 ponytails. Hair is down to my tail. Finished up w/ a butterfly light trim and amazing! Feels great! Took about 4 inches and blended well enough. My hair is long/light natural wavy, so hides any imperfections. Wicked excited!
I really can't believe it, I cut my hair after watching this video of course I followed the steps in the original video of the story, I loved the story so much that I will adopt it for the rest of my life🏃🏻♀️
It's really exhilarating and empowering to learn how to give yourself a great haircut. Frankly, after a year of doing my own, I'll never go back. You can do a little cleanup and point cutting while the ponytails are still in, helps a lot. Brittnee Alexxus taught me to cut and color like a pro! ;)
Your hair turned out beautiful! To make it easier, first divide the hair and dry from the root to the middle of the strands. The fringe and sides of the front, secure separately. After the back part is half-dry, style the rest of the hair to the ends with the blow dryer and brush. Lastly, dry and shape the front fringe and sides. It will set much faster. It is necessary to dry the root halfway first and only model the rest until the ends later. I hope you understood, English is not my first language. Kisses from Brazil 🥰
I’ve been in need of a hair cut for ages and keep putting it off. I’ve only ever cut (ie given myself a small trim) my own hair twice before, so I think this time I might try your method. Looks cute!
It's really easy and pretty much foolproof. Just start off with only a few inches, it's so easy to do it again if you need more length off. You'll love it.
I did the same cut to mine today and I'm so happy. Mine is wavy and its really brought out the waves now that it's not heavy. You did a really good job, your hair looks really lovely 😍
@@LS-vq2or hi 👋 I do diffuse it after putting styling products on it as it would be frizzy if left to air dry on its own. It only needs washing once a week so it's not too much hassle.
You did great!! I used to cut my hair with just one big ponytail at the front and that works too, but you gotta get all the bumps out. I see so many people mess up this method by not getting the bumps out or not putting the ponytail far enough on their face, it has to be like right at your hairline/forehead and SMOOTH. Just a warning if anyone else wants to try. Also it helps if your hair is greasy, at least for me.
Wow ! Looks awesome! Great job ! An easy blow out for layers is to take a vented paddle brush ( I use the Conair copper one ) and brush your hair all forward, using the curve of your head as the bending technique ( if that makes sense). Then when you are finished blow drying all of your hair around the front of your head, just run your fingers through it the opposite direction, and it will fall into place beautifully. Now you’re making me want to cut my hair because mine is a similar texture to yours . But mine is 3 feet long and I’m a scaredy cat ! 🤣
My skills with hair are basic level, so trust me I get how difficult hair can be but I think you did a great job! Next time for the Comb to get better sections you use the very end of the brush and drag it down where you want your section lines to be then brush it out. But you did an incredible job! Beautiful❤
This is the exact video I needed to see today. Congrats on getting a super cute cut at home. Brad Mondo would be proud :-)
Heyyyyy 👋🏼 😘
Awh thank you!!!

@@1Hope4All in my opinion, if the result is cute it doesn’t matter how tf you get to that point.
@@1Hope4All she literally cut 4 inches off the first cut, then did 2 more, and then 1 more on the 3rd shot. That’s 7 inches. She even used a ruler.
The hair stylist part of me is terrified for you, but also, I cut and dye my own hair too, so I'm here for this
I'm not usually a very outwardly excited kinda person, but watching your videos these last few years i feel like i am slowly learning that its okay to dance around and scream out when i'm happy or have achieved my goal. Thank you for being you. Your hair looks amazing and really suits you! 💕
This is so wholesome.
Looks super cute! I started cutting my hair during the pandemic and now I wouldn't let anyone else do it! Totally gets easier and less scary. Hey, and the blow dry and styling helps! GO GIRL!😁

I love sock curls.
I just had my hair cut the same style you did... it cost me 75 dollars, and your looks 100x better. Good job!
What’s this style called?
@@soceve2827 butterfly haircut
I started to cut and color at home by myself since 2000. It gives me the freedom to cut it when I want it
It looks so good! I have been talking about giving myself a haircut for too long, and I also ponytail it up the majority of the time because I’m not happy with it/it gets in my face. You go girl, living your extra(cute cut)life, the Mondo way 💝
I finally cut my hair a couple days ago! It’s so curly!! Up to my collar bone ❤️❤️ I love it!!
You did it and you should be happy with yourself! Your hair looks amazing! Sending endless positive vibes
two of my favorite youtubers in one video!! this was definitely not a "i'm sorry brad mondo" moment! amazing job jenna :))
I’ve been so scared to try this bc every video I see is people with very thick hair and so watching you, who has very similar hair to me, was very helpful and encouraging :) I think I’m going to try it tonight!

Your haircut look so good, it suits you so well
I just did this cut on myself over the weekend! When I went to watch his video, I saw the “Jenna Phipps has also watched this” notification. I was hoping this meant this was coming. 😃 Looks great!
I just came back to say Brad Mondo reviewed your haircut!!! That is so cool :)
Ohh ist looks soo good! The cut AND the blow out thingy.🌈✨
Ive been wanting to do this for awhile and this just gave me the extra motivation.
I never did it
It came out great! Just the right length! You can also cut the front shorter and leave the back the same if you want. the fact that brad mondo himself made a video reacting to her!!!! 🩷🩷🩷
I should of tried this method when I tried cutting my hair. Two ponytails seems a lot easier than just one. It looks great.
Love the outcome! It frames your face beautifully!💚
I've been cutting my hair for over a year now and I am much happier with it. Your hair looks beautiful.
It looks SO CUTE!!! ❤
Your hair came out so cute Jenna! I haven’t had a hair cut in 8+ months, I might just trim it myself, you’ve inspired me.
I also cut my own hair for the first time a couple weeks ago following a Brad Mondo tutorial and I LOVE it!! So fun and empowering!
It turned out great! Cute! 😄👍
It looks great! Years ago I cut mine in the same manner and then went to the hairdresser who said, "it's really pretty good". She took a couple snips and that was that. Way to save 75 bucks!
yea for me I trim like a couple inches and it was 120 its crazy
I was so nervous but you pulled it out. Nice work!
Yeah! Your new look suits you so good....well done! You should be so proud of yourself.

I've been cutting my hair for years. It looks great. Good job.
This inspired me and I did it too. I was wanting to trim my hair and this is a perfect trim
This looks so good on you and totally makes me want to do it but I'm terrified lol
It looks great Jenna. I like the way it frames your grace. Congrats!!
That is one beautiful haircut. It frames your face so well. You look radiant!🥰
Wow 👏 this is the best out come I've seen out of all the videos I watched for this haircut.

That is so cute... the entire video!! Very cute hair, GREAT job!!! love, hugs, prayers.
I did it. It's fantastic and simple! Better than salon!!!!! 20 mins n no balancing the sides n back....
