You need to run a line for the gas cap also clean the carburetor and while you have it apart replace any seals and grease your spark plug and any other electrical connections. If at all else stay a little bit on the gas at all times if it starts cutting off
You need a one way check valve on the bottom of the carb. When on a wheelie, it lets gas flow out if need be, but does not let water in. If gas cannot flow out like it’s intended to do, then it will stall and kill the bike. Also dielectric grease ALL electrical connections cdi, spark plug boot, etc. Hope this helps
You guys out here making Honda 300s look good again keep up the awesome content y’all will have my support through everything y’all do 336 that’s the gang baby ❤
Definitely need to dielectric grease your cdi boxes which is right in front of your handle bars and your spark plug and coil pack the plugs behind the black box and turn the fuel up a lil bit to help idle under water
Carb may need a good cleaning. If that’s the carb over flow vent then you float is sticking under pressure causing it to flood itself out. Clean the carb and plug that over flow vent.
This could be it to, i say they need to put a good check valve in it so when gas does come out the bottom of the carb it has a place to go instead of all the way up the vent line. When there is a lot of fuel in the vent line and the carb is trying to release access fuel, it cant go anywhere so it creates back pressure and "floods" the carb
I love the content and I used to have a Honda Rincon 650 and it had a carb on it and my main problem was before she blew was the carb overflow needed a vent
Hey mafia it’s me again! This weekend is my birthday and we are getting a big crew to head out to burdens off-road park in Mississippi! It would be cool if y’all could come out and show us how to ride! Bring that 300 and those badass gades
On some of those 300s the when it first goes into the water the cdi will get a littile wet and kill it but it will start back up it’s a pretty conman problem at least with the 300s we have had
Had the same problem with mine could be spark plug water in the carb may not have a screw on the bottom of the carb vent could be a few odds and end but you guys eith figure it out y’all never disappoint
Put a screw in the drain line i use to have same problem with mine sounds funny to so because then can drain fuel but water can’t get in. But works but they usually run on water
Did yall dielectric grease all electrical points on the 300 sparkplug, cdi, etc... especially every connection in the battery box and the wires that go down to the side case of the motor on the left side right infront of the starter make sure all those points are water tight
Need a One way valve on the drain on the bottom for the bowl of the carb so it can still drain can order a new seal for the gas cap also if your caps in decent condition cutting the vent off on the cap works just fine on both of mine RIP them clutches tho on 30s with no gr
Not sure why it cuts off I have a 98 grizzly 600 that has a carburetor but I have not took it deep but now I have a 23 outlander 1000 xmr I wish y’all would be at busco at the end of September on a Saturday keep the awesome videos coming
Did u diletric grease ur points? The points are for the neutral light. Oil temp light and reverse light. Grease those up and test it. Sounds like a electric issue to me.
run a line through the gas cap. You might be getting water in the gas. You can drill it out put a connector on it and vent it as well and itll just be on all the time unless you shut off the petcock
Hey I have always wanted to meet you. The only thing I’m from Mississippi. which suck and alway wanted to go mudding and never have been. so I watch you so hopefully when ever I am able to go I will know what I am doing.
Well on mine I put grease around the spark plugs and grease around the air box lid that will seal it in Greece around the spark plug helps a lot if not it does cut out pretty bad
The vent on the bottom of the bowl shouldn’t be ran up with snorkel add a one way valve to it it’s gotta be able to drain if it needs to sounds to me like it’s flooding out some that’ll be why you have gas coming out vent line
You need to di electric grease your plugs and make sure your overflow vent on your carb has atleast two overflow valves or have a golf tee and plug it up before you ride in water and take it out after and you could also invest in a metal air box if you want to take it really deep because of all the pressure and make sure you have your crank case vent ran in the air box or up the snorkel it’s a thick black hose just some things to check
need to make sure the spark plug boot and is dieletric greased, all of the inlets for the airbox are sealed, and there needs to be a CHECK VALVE on the bottom of the carb
Hey Joe I have a 2008 Honda foreman 500 with a carburetor. And I have sunk it like 27 times and I was getting water in my carburetor and it was sealed off. And another issue I had was I wasn’t giving it enough gas under water so it was cutting off under water. I think that is what’s wrong with your 300
When ever u run the bottom vent it will keep flooding the carb with gas and kill it because it can’t self drain itself so run about 5” of line and a one way valve
@@336MudMafia. it won’t mine was doing the same thing when I ran my vent line up and didn’t u smell gas while riding. That would be ur issue when u go in water
my 300 would do the same, i’d go in some water about tire height for a little while, then it’d start boggin out and putting gas into the air box and cuttin off let it sit a while then it’d crank right back up.
i’d also have a little more than quarter tank and it’d act like it was out of gas and cut off then i’d put it on reserve and it’d run just fine i cleaned petcock and all still did it.
Take a water hose to the spark plug area while it’s running see if it kills. Die electric grease the boot also. After taking it in the water you need to check airbox . If no water that lets you know snorkel and airbox is water tight . If fuel is getting into carb make sure vent lines are good. Is it aftermarket or oem carb ? Makes a difference . Put two one way check valves on the carb drain line. If not water can get through their . Make sure clamps for spark plug intake boots are tight . Die electric grease everything
Need to run a line for the gas can because the switch on the cap does not seal. You got run a thread in the cap then screw a peace in there for a vent line with some type of sealer on the threads. And for it cutting off make sure the carb idle is turned up and the carb is sealed. But Great video.
Make sure you have something in the snorkel that make it go down to a one inch diameter otherwise with the stock jetting it throws off the air fuel ratio and it will run bad as soon as you get the water up to the carb
And you definitely need to vent the gas cap if not the gas cap fills with water then it can’t breath and shuts off your machine when your in deep water
My 1999 Honda Forman 400 would cut out as soon as the exhaust went under water turns out the exhaust was leaking at the flange and it was sucking water in to the exhaust blocking the air flow replaced the gasket and problem was fix
do not plug the gas overflow or run it as a vent it would keep flooding my bike i also learned dielectric grease everything i mean everything and check your crank case vent line either run it up the snorkle or drill a hole in your air box and stick it in there and ultra black around it
Do you have a cheap amazon carb or is it a oem carb. I had that issue when I’d hit bumps it would over flow gas though the vent tube I put a oem carb on it and it’s fine now
it’s cutting off because of the overflow i have a yamaha big bear 400 and it cut off because of the overflow so you need a thing where it will cut the overflow off only when you go in deep water
Who wants to see more Honda 300 content??😏
Me
Keep up the good work
I think y’all should do a Polaris 1000 build
i want to see a big bear 400
Yea loving the 300 already bros 💪🏽💪🏽
You need to run a line for the gas cap also clean the carburetor and while you have it apart replace any seals and grease your spark plug and any other electrical connections. If at all else stay a little bit on the gas at all times if it starts cutting off
We’re gonna try it👍🏼

Definitely need to dielectric grease your cdi boxes which is right in front of your handle bars and your spark plug and coil pack the plugs behind the black box and turn the fuel up a lil bit to help idle under water
We did have the idle turned up and also dielectric greased the plugs!
If it has holes in the exhaust then that would make it die cause it don’t have enough power to push it out the tiny hole
Our first time trying a 300. Definitely might need some fine tuning but I think we can get right right in no time🔥
I think with the right tuning on that carb we will be good to go😎

Only thing I don’t get about that is, it doesn’t spit and sputter when it cranks back up

That’s The Gang Baby😎
Mine did the same thing you need to put a long hose with a cap on your overflow on the carb the water is getting in through there
Dielectric grease your spark plug boot, also dielectric grease all your connections to your cdi boxes there’s 2 right underneath the handle bars
Definitely got to try the cdi box!
A one way check valve will fix the carb issue Mine did the same thing until I put one on the the overflow
Definitely going to try that!
I also recommend putting a layer of marine grease around the rubber seal on the gas cap
336 that’s the gang baby the only gang give it the what four 🤟🤟🤟
Need a One way valve on the drain on the bottom for the bowl of the carb so it can still drain can order a new seal for the gas cap also if your caps in decent condition cutting the vent off on the cap works just fine on both of mine RIP them clutches tho on 30s with no gr
So where do you get the one way drain for the carb?
You can go to San Augustine tx

Vent the bottom hose on the carburetor with a one way check valve its a overflow hose
We vented it but did not do a one way check valve

I’ve had 2 different 300s and they both have done the same thing and I still haven’t figured it out
Make sure you have grease around your spark plug I have had problems with that in the past
We put a ton on there it felt like!
That’s the gang babbyyyy‼️‼️🔥

336 THA GANG
I love how you can buy and clap out four wheeler and make it look like it’s brand new
The Moose and Scott grips are my favorites
Same we reallly like them!
Gas tank needs a vent from the cap. They'll vapor lock.
I've seen people install the carb and fuel pump from a 420 efi
How do you vent the cap??
The old Honda 300 is looking sharp.
Can’t go wrong with an old 300🔥
The vent on the bottom of the bowl shouldn’t be ran up with snorkel add a one way valve to it it’s gotta be able to drain if it needs to sounds to me like it’s flooding out some that’ll be why you have gas coming out vent line
Alrighty!
The bowl in the carberator has a float on it up pressure myne always shuts off until i changed the carburetor out
Myne a 2008 honda 500 es
got to run the gas cap vent line from the top of it
Might be our problem🤷🏻♂️
You need to di electric grease your plugs and make sure your overflow vent on your carb has atleast two overflow valves or have a golf tee and plug it up before you ride in water and take it out after and you could also invest in a metal air box if you want to take it really deep because of all the pressure and make sure you have your crank case vent ran in the air box or up the snorkel it’s a thick black hose just some things to check
need to make sure the spark plug boot and is dieletric greased, all of the inlets for the airbox are sealed, and there needs to be a CHECK VALVE on the bottom of the carb
The bottom of the carb is good but the spark plug wire could use a little more grease!
Hell of a video, keep it up
Love y’all’s vids keep it up man

336 Thats the gang baby😎🤘
It sounds like it's idling high idk if that'd make cut off
Also I can't see ur hands but there's a kill switch on ur left handle. Red switch.
We’ll give it a look🤔
I had the same problem I changed carbs and exhaust and it stopped doing it.
We can look into it and see what we can do!

And another issue I had was I wasn’t giving it enough gas under water so it was cutting off under water. I think that is what’s wrong with your 300
This 300 just takes right from you, giving it gas or not it will just cut it self
Don’t run the bottom vent on the carb u have to run 2 (1) way valves so when it has to sun extra gas it still can but water can’t get I.
When ever u run the bottom vent it will keep flooding the carb with gas and kill it because it can’t self drain itself so run about 5” of line and a one way valve
@@Micah2Loud but it’s not spitting and sputtering?

Sooooooo drill a hole in the cap??
@@336MudMafia.Yes
Can't kill the Honda baby 😂😂
That’s exactly right😎
My buddy had a 300 that wouldn't run under water. It was the petcock seal was letting water in, we siliconed it off.
Make sure you got a line on the carb overflow should be the one on the bottom
Yessir we got that one as well!
That is a pretty sick rig love the vid
Appreciate it😎
Hey I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of moose axle you got because I need one bad??
Could it be a jet issue with the carb. Bc I remember Braydon had to put a cap on his recons snorkel bc it kept bogging and cutting out like the 300 is
Jet the carb because when u add the snorkel it gets more air flow than being under the plastics therefore it needs more fuel to the motor
Alrighty, we will give it a shot!
I’m your biggest fan😎🔥
Spark plug needs grease
Spark plug maybe either isnt sealed or is just bad
you plugged the carb overflow probably or ran it up the snorkel
Grease spark plug and you can not get them to idle under water check all vents make sure there all ran on the carb that’s the main problem
We did grease the spark plug! Maybe not enough🤷🏻♂️
When you go underwater it's getting too much air through the snorkel so get like a little thing that'll fit in the snorkel and drill a hole through it
We’ll give it a try🤔
We need a 366 Mud Mafia fan meet up somewhere, it would be so cool to meet them in person and do some fun games and stuff 🔥💯🇺🇸
Deff at busco lol
Definitely would be fun🤘🏻
At Busco🔥🔥
Could have a wire with the coating off and it’s shorting out under water. Check the cdi connectors and hit them with grease. Love the channel🫡
The vent on the bottom of the carb will drip a little and get gas in it and cut off you got to loop the line
I’m not sure how to vent the gas cap
You need to grease all your electrical connections and put a one way valve on the bottom over flow should be good .
definitely more 300 content please !!!!!!
Me sir!! Outback🥰🤙🏻
Check the choke cable on the carb, they love to let water that way.
We will look into it!
Dielectric grease all electric connections. Coil and spark plug ext.
Definitely going too🤘🏻
My 1999 Honda Forman 400 would cut out as soon as the exhaust went under water turns out the exhaust was leaking at the flange and it was sucking water in to the exhaust blocking the air flow replaced the gasket and problem was fix
It's flooding out. Adjust the float. Ats why it's spinning gas out the overflow vent
You need a sealed exhaust
Did you dielectric grease the spark plug an everything electrical?
Do those things have an o2 sensor cuz mine used to do that until I got the o2 sensor delete
Where did you get the 3 inch adapters from for the rear? My 1 1/2 isn’t wide enough since my outlaws are rubber the exhaust badly
U need a 54% gear adduction and with a carburetor you have to do a little bit more than vent lines
Have you checked to see if it’s losing spark.
i think it is the exaust because every time it immediately goes under water it cuts off
It really could be!
Was thinking the same. Most guys seem to have an aftermarket exhaust
do not plug the gas overflow or run it as a vent it would keep flooding my bike i also learned dielectric grease everything i mean everything and check your crank case vent line either run it up the snorkle or drill a hole in your air box and stick it in there and ultra black around it
So we’re definitely going to change the bottom of the carb to a check valve but it’s not spitting and sputtering like it’s flooded?
Do you have a cheap amazon carb or is it a oem carb. I had that issue when I’d hit bumps it would over flow gas though the vent tube I put a oem carb on it and it’s fine now
What are you going to do with the 300 because I know that Honda ain’t gonna last a long time so when your done I could possibly take it off your hands
it’s cutting off because of the overflow i have a yamaha big bear 400 and it cut off because of the overflow so you need a thing where it will cut the overflow off only when you go in deep water
Let’s gooooo😁🤙🏼🔥
What is 300 and have a problem
about flooding? It’s getting too much gas.
But it’s not flooding?
It’s getting to much gas
Is that a 680 Rincon in the background you should build one
Need to put dilectric grease in the spark plug boot
