Thing is, I used to love his vids back in the day when they were slightly more reserved. But in the post-hentai phase, his vids just became about "showing shit to unsuspecting youtubers", "trolling", etc. He clearly got tired of making those older style videos, and moving on is fine, I just don't find his newer stuff entertaining. That said, he is very insightful in Rant Café, and I still listen to that podcast often, in fact I really like him there. I guess you can go a bit too over the top.
Happy you brought up Neo TWEWY, I think that game is proof that a bloated AAA studio can still produce something great nowadays as long as they have their priorities straight and things line up right. I think the fact that Square Enix didn't seem to put too much emphasis on its advertising shows that it wasn't as tightly controlled as something like FF XV, so the dev team was able to stretch out a bit more and make something really special. Great listen!

Then Trixie pretty much burning all bridges with the pcp split her and Nate. Nate has told Ben apparently that he just doesn't want to come back to the pcp) BUT the invitation is still there for him and he might come back. The only members left are Ben, gib and sometimes tom but mostly Ben and gib. You've missed out on a lot of shit because this is only scratching the surface of what's been going on.

You should try Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi, is the only anime this season besides kobayashi-san that i like, it is an adaptation of a manga made by both the creators of ishuzoku reviewers and kobayashi-san.
No offense Guy but I think KANTENHT, the name of the channel and podcast, was a bad a idea since it is hard to remember how to spell. Sure it is unique and a meme but if someone is searching for your videos by name, forget about it.
I really hope this continues. Listening to this made me realise that it's mostly Nate who made pcp work for me and why it became my favorite podcast. Pcp was on a decline, but when Nate left it became absolutely unlistenable for me. And now I listen to this and I get the same funny feeling I used to get weekly 3 years ago. Man it's making me emotional.
Man one time i went to open a door and Afy attacked me. No warning or anything, he just stabbed me on my way to open the door. A few slurs were thrown around and i got arrested shortly after. I had no idea at the time but apparently behind the door was an old nude man. I haven't talked to afy since but i have to wonder why he was protecting old nude men in the middle of library
In terms of games I feel like nihon falcom has been doing well. The Y's series and the Trails series have been good in terms of characters and story/worldbuilding. Have any of you checked those out? When it comes to modern anime though I agree that something is missing when compared to anime from the past.
About the current media landscape, it's disheartening to hear that the typical consumerism mindset has been having an even stronger influence over everything. I got into UA-cam not as early as some people here, but the people who had initially influenced me all have some authenticity and a lot to say about that exact mindset, standing in opposition to it. In turn, their voices stood out. I'd thought that they had ushered in a new generation of consumers that are more cynical and critical on media. I still think we indeed get that, but perhaps those who didn't care that much are also growing larger.
I'm on the part of about the future of media. The practical solution is to just find stuff being made that resonates with you, takes chances on media that you're unsure would resonate with you so your not just stuck with the same nostalgia shit, and support that. In the case of having a online audience like you all have, you can take the extra step and get the word out on whatever those cool things are. Your right you can't change corporations or million of people who just want the new game. So don't try. Just focus on the cool stuff you enjoy and go seek it out. Works for me. I don't know if ODDTAXI was mentioned yet, but I was recommended it. Knew nothing. Enjoyed it greatly. Umurangi Generation would be the game version of that for me that I last played. Weird photography game thats short, simple, and unique? Perfect. Good stuff is still out there. Unique stuff is still out there. I still don't care to be all doom and gloom when media has only expanded with stuff I'm into. Not that I don't have tons of old media to get to even if media now all became shit to me. I have probably thousands of hours of games alone I could emulate. All classics I know are good. The reason companies in the 90’s could make things good using the profit motive but they can’t now probably has something to do with an economic phenomenon “the tendency of the rate of profit to fall.” The ratio of profit to invested capital almost always decreases over time. Companies in the 90’s could get away with making profits just by making quality games/shows, but since they need to invest more capital over time to maintain those profits, the rates fall and they need to resort to pushing out lower quality products and squeezing their customers for more and more money. TL;DR: the profit motive is the problem. With it, we will *almost always* be getting lower quality products over a long enough timescale.
It's cause Ben would constantly bring up politics, Nate would never engage, but when he did he revealed he had terrible political takes. Despite this, Nate was really good at just talking with the guys and bringing up new topics, so the PCP is just kinda monotonous without him.

I'd suggest adding something visual, maybe a repeating background and an effect when specific people are talking. Literally, copy what Podtaku did many years ago. Nux is a genius at psychology. He just decided to weaponize his genius to make money, and more power to him. Take a look at his early longform videos - they're super deep and some of my favorite work on all of UA-cam. Very similar to BGE's gurren lagann video essays. So yeah I'm loving this collab.
